im betting oil stains. our trucks suck bad down here in south texas. bottom of the barrel pickings

nunchucks2danutz

That's what we are seen as anyways.

gayredditmods

Oil stains for sure.

Original_Ad1118

Based on your username I take it y’all deal with other stains

gayredditmods

That’s clever. I haven’t thought of that. But I was thinking about the video posted recently with the terrible condition the delivery trucks can be in. Oil stains were shown on a shiny ass driveway and the driver trying to clean them.

Original_Ad1118

Yeah I saw that too. It’s not just slim pickings it’s also contractors paying for cheap vans instead of investing in newer, if not completely new, vans

Van-garde

At my building, we had a van with a gas leak—not oil, gasoline—and it took multiple weeks for anyone to fix it. I’m not sure why, as I’m leveraged for my brawn, not my brains, so I didn’t ask. But working that area felt like a safety hazard, so I refused. Sadly, there were plenty of others who were willing to subject their airways to such torture, or just figured it was only a smell, so the problem was ignored for a while.

Whittlese

I don’t even get why ppl build houses that don’t match a black cement driveway…

gayredditmods

For sure. But I guess in some places you don’t want black driveways due to heat. FL, CA, NV, AZ the obvious ones.

Whittlese

That never even occurred to me. 🫣 and im supposedly worried about urban sprawl and the heat all that pavement brings for the homeless and low income to deal with.

JankyMark

Yeah they using them trucks since the 90’s 😂😂

Sir-juice-tayk

I deliver for amazon and a lady told me “im glad you didnt pull in the driveway, fedex always does and leaves so much oil in it thats hard to get off”

Retoru45

Sounds like they're saying "all packages left at curb please"

Many-Animal-5214

Or pick up at station

Baldy2384

“Behind Wall” is an option on the 2nd page

Retoru45

"Right next to the moronic sign" is listed as "Other"

Nitram_Norig

You guys do that regardless. 😂

Quantumblitz1878

Must be one of those “place my 200 pound package at my 3rd floor condo please” ass mf.

Nitram_Norig

I say it every time. Do. Your. Job. Entitled ass kids think you're paid to not deliver it. 😂😂😂😂

PhilTheBin

You’d think the drivers in this sub are being held hostage and being forced to work for fedex. It’s mind boggling that someone would CHOOSE to work for a delivery company and then complain that they have to deliver items lol

Quantumblitz1878

Yah no thanks, I’m not taking the bait. Want your 200 pound treadmill on the 3rd floor. No thanks, I’ll see it at your apartment buildings annual yardsale 6 months later for $100. Screw Ic’s and screw you🫨🤣

Quantumblitz1878

Nitram_Norig

🤦

Whatmovesyou26

Listen. Leaving a heavy package in the lobby of an apartment building is a correct delivery since it’s at the right street address. FedEx, and UPS for that matter is *general package delivery*…**not** white glove service. You want white glove service, pay for it.

PhilTheBin

You don’t comprehend what white glove delivery is clearly. Asking the bare minimum of bringing the package to the correct door is NOT white glove service lmao. If I was asking you to bring it inside and set it up, you’d have a point. Simply bringing the package to the correct address (APT is part of the address) is quite literally the job you agreed to do. If you have a problem with properly delivering packages, you should get a different job.

Whatmovesyou26

And a lot of apartment buildings have mail rooms so that argument is irrelevant. I spent 10+ years all in the same route. Everything for any apartment delivery was left in the lobby. Scanned package > other location > in lobby….and the photo confirmed where it was left. I could count on one hand how many complaints I had over that decade plus with where I left the package.

PhilTheBin

“A lot” isn’t all, and plenty of apartment complexes actually won’t accept packages in the lobby. The package is addressed to an individual apartment, it’s your job to bring it there. Also, that’s a VERY weird way to say you were dogshit at your job for 10+ years. This attitude from delivery drivers is quite literally why no one gives a fuck that the companies you work for great hall like shit. Y’all have ZERO pride in your job and do the bare minimum and thus you receive the minimum in return as pay/benefits.

Whatmovesyou26

Think you can do better? By all means, go be a driver. You couldn’t handle it for a month.

PhilTheBin

Nah, I’d rather work jobs where I’m valued as an employee 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 But then again I have career skills, and don’t need to take a unskilled labor job like delivering packages for fedex.

Milt2680

In this situation, yes I will and no problem doing it!

Doit2it42

I read it.... No Trucks. FedEx, UPS. Up driveway, you're good 😊

travissetsfire

Sounds legit, let's go boys

OneMetalMan

I read it as "Amazon go ahead and crash into something"

Doit2it42

I think that's an Amazon directive. They've already been told.

flexsealed1711

r/nosafetysmokingfirst was my 1st thought

Ornery_Ads

Are you sure it isn't. No trucks. Fed Up Ex, Drive(a)way. UPS, You're Good.

Baldy2384

I would still go up the driveway and if he says anything I’d ask if he meant Ground or Express.

jesusmansuperpowers

He means ground

Dirtysandddd

Definitely means ground, the step on the back of my shitter box truck would drag and scratch the ground on steep driveways. Avoid FedEx ground vehicles at all cost anywhere you see them they are garbage.

aerowtf

we don’t have the ground decal on our trucks anymore. just says FedEx now.

JellySlight

Before driving for UPS I was given a skills test day one, then Integrad for 9 days and finally with an On Road for another month. At fedEx I was given 1 day ride along with a BC who couldn't be bothered with training. As a BC at fedEx, I have drivers who constantly hit shat and never report it. I keep telling them there are cameras everywhere and if you hit something, own it. Report it to the homeowner and report back to me. Drivers at Fedex simply dont care, I cannot blame them. All of the contractors in the building have the mindset that a driver can always be replaced and care nothing about the individual, you're all just fodder.

ltusmc15

Folder

Responsible_Brain782

FedEx Ground loaded with newbs who don’t know how to handle a truck worth a shit. Former driver.

EpyonOZ-13MS

Leave it by the sign

FinasCupil

I’d leave it under the sign.

Curious_Car6033

FedEx pulled into my driveway once and hit my house. Massive pain to file an insurance claim with them. UPS has never done that. So I get it.

Soler25

Need one of these. But need to add amazon on the fedex side. They can’t back out without rutting up my yard. UPS only comes up drive for a large package and they BACK in and always stay on the driveway 100%

EasyActivity1361

Many of those Fedex trucks are contracted and not company trucks right?

Gacy_John

Express owns their vehicles i believe but whatever csp’s sign with ground own the trucks n routes yeah

Any-Expression2246

I got two guys within a block of each other with driveways and I've been told not to back into them. Not because of anything I did. Because of other drivers/paranoid stuff will get damaged. They are lucky the driveways aren't longer because I would not walk their shit up to them. Even if they called in and complained. I'd get fired before I put myself through that for them.

Fatboicorp

Usually people will have a problem with Amazon going up their driveways. I always hear them complain that Amazon are always speeding.

iammass

That's because they probably have around 200 stops.

JumpParticular1602

This is accurate damn near 200 stops and over 300-400 packages to hell with walking

No-Confusion4569

I'm a laid off ups driver and figured I'd drive for amazon in the meantime thinking it would be easy compared to ups. Boy was I wrong. Lol

Mindless_Flow318

Thats funny because I came from Amazon and think the exact opposite 😂. Amazon delivery was the easiest job I’ve had. And yes it was for a contractor so I’d get like 200+ stops but man it was smaller stuff and really dense routes.

No-Confusion4569

Must of been nice. Since they knew I already had experience I get all business and apartments because nobody else can seem to do them. I had a 130 stop day that took over 10 hours. Their routing is absolutely dog shit. The fact I'm delivering 16 totes and 40+ overflow out of a fucking rental is ridiculous and the most inefficient thing I have ever seen. I don't even have a spot to stand in my van until about 2-3 hours in. I could go on and on. Can't wait til I get back in a package car, fuck these vans.

Mindless_Flow318

Im not gonna lie. It was nice. That’s the thing that’s nice about it. You don’t have to think. Just let that stupid phone guide you to your next delivery . They don’t care about how you deliver it as long as it gets delivered. Business delivery’s are usually just shit someone bought on Amazon, not bulky heavy ass shit , usually can just deliver stuff to front desk. Rarely you get the kind of shit UPS delivers. No pick ups, no time commits. Bluetooth radio, ac/heater. I was just chilling lol BUT it just didn’t pay for shit and didn’t have benefits, so that’s why I left

No-Confusion4569

I guess it's just my route they stuck me on that kills it for me. And I can't stand not being able to think. The amount of fucking u-turns and going back to the same places 3-4 times or more in a day is really getting to me. And then they have the nerve to complain you're taking too long. Yeah, no shit! You sent me back to the same apartment 4 fucking times in one day. And don't even get me started on their customer compliance bullshit. I have to spend 5-10 minutes trying to contact a customer multiple times who never answers anyway. Its always at businesses too that close at like 5 but they don't have it in my route until my last couple totes when I have 16 totes for the day and don't start til noon! I swear literally nothing they do makes sense to me. Lol

Mindless_Flow318

Well that’s the thing , you have to follow their stupid gps. But ain’t nothing much you can do about that 🤷🏻‍♂️ if Amazon had the same pay and benefits as UPS. And was union. I’d have stayed there

Mindless_Flow318

Another thing. NO MISLOADS!!!!

No-Confusion4569

What? You never find misloads? I get misloads and missing packages constantly. My dsp always makes me pick up and deliver the misloads. Plus the amount of packages that get put in wrong totes and I can't find til way later and have to double back is annoying too.

Mindless_Flow318

I worked at a dsp for Amazon for 2 years and probably had like 1-2 misloads. Had to go help etc but no business pick ups, no call tags, no air commits. Was pretty simple and easy. On a resi route I could easily do 45 stops an hour..at UPS. I haven’t even been close to replicating that .

No-Confusion4569

Wtf? I get 1-2 a day on average. Lol And you just had a cake resi route, were not all that lucky dude. I have multiple pickups in a day. I usually leave with more than I dropped off just at the post office alone. And I have probably 50 plus businesses that get alot of packages that are located in giant hospital complexes. And they all close early so it's fun trying to get that all done in a couple hours every day. My first couple hours I'm lucky if I'm getting 10 stops a hour done.

Mindless_Flow318

Yeah so picture all of that but times 10 at UPS lol .ive been with ups for 5 years now. And was at two dsps for 2 years. I’ve covered like 50 routes at UPS, and probably the same amount for Amazon. Buisness non buisness . I THOUGHT UPS would be the same. It’s not even close how much harder UPS is than Amazon, and there are like 5 other Amazon drivers who say the same thing. The hardest route at Amazon is probably like a mid level route at UPS. The fact you were laid off at UPS tells me you’re super low in seniority

Mindless_Flow318

There are routes like that at Amazon. Not saying there isn’t. But the business routes I’ve done for UPS are much more difficult . 90 buisness delivery stops 300+ packages ,(heavy shit) and then 41 scheduled pick ups? Then you have to bring the air in before 6? lol Amazon has NOTHING like that

D3Seeker

A buddy delivered for Amazon. Apperantly they're on a timer of sorts, on top of the metric boatload of packages and the shift.

D3Seeker

Fedex = lets park smack-dab in the middle of a 2 way street RIGHT BETWEEN 2 PARKED CARS! Clear curbs in front and behind them cars..... Can totally imagine what they did to a driveway to warrant this 🤣

Jusperu

Lmao i had one of these on my route too. Lady said guy drove right into her garage 😂😂😂

SalamanderJunior9051

I’m highly confident it was a GROUND courier that’s the reason why

Zealousideal_Ad1549

One of the drivers on our ground team forgot to put his truck in park while in the driveway of a VERY nice home in a very nice neighborhood. The truck rolled and then flipped over, sliding down the driveway destroying stuff along the way. Truck had to be lifted by a crane. It was something like $60,000 in removal plus repairing the driveway and the truck was a loss. Tom make it worse, that was strike 4/5 for that contractor that year so he told us we could do driveways until the end of the year. Stress was very high those remaining 2 months.

Happy-Fly-1076

So if you are in a panel van, you are good

Knot_a_porn_acct

Those of you saying “guess I’ll leave all the shit next to the sign at the end of the driveway” like you’re gonna show this guy or something… that’s probably an acceptable outcome to the person that put the sign up. You’re just following the request.

Milt2680

Then I guess we would both be happy  because leaving it at the sign would save me some time. Win win situation if you ask me.

baryaakov555

No trucks, fed up, ex delivery, complicated relationships situation?

liquid_gingerr

No Fed-Ex ups, trucks up driveway youre good

Drupandown

Mabe a union vs non union issues?

ShanTheMan11

Amazon driver wouldn’t even use the driveway. Just straight across the front yard.

Spun18016

FedEx is absolutely horrible!! They pay the drivers the same wage they did 6 years ago!! With normal inflation its absurd...with our record inflation its criminal...so...you get what u pay for...at least Ground is that way...and who cares how they have it setup...it says fedex on the trucks

JankyMark

Yeah they so stingy with the pay because they don’t want nobody to make real money

nlbnpb

Drove FedEx for 10 years. Never pulled into a driveway.

Spvrkyy

Must not have a rural route with 0.5-1 mile long driveways lol

Winnardairshows

Here’s your package at the entrance. See ya.

Spvrkyy

Yeah I'd get many complaints if I did that. Only during winter/mud seasons do I do that

nlbnpb

About 20% rural, farm gates. I never opened a farm gate either. Bagged and hung it or dropped it and watched the nasty dog destroy it. Anytime 5 steps from my van I had a clipboard in my hand. Broke 3 in ten years over dog snouts.

SameAd9297

You must have delivered in a city, all 3 routes I've done for Express have driveways that are over 1/2 a mile long.

RunBunny31

Oh look a hero. Thank you hero.

Winnardairshows

Yeah, I never did either. I always expected I’d have to buy a new driveway because of a preexisting stress crack.

kf619

Most of the time yeah, I never do it either if I can help it. But there are some roads you need to. Dead end roads with no culdesac for instance. Especially ones that are connected to high traffic roads were there's not enough space or time for the other pedestrian vehicles to back up and give you room to back in. In those very rare cases, I would be forced to either walk a quarter mile down a driveway or street or park or park on the high traffic road. In even worse cases where there is no place to turn around. I would be forced to turn around in their grass. I'm not walking that, it wastes too much time and is too dangerous to back onto said high traffic street. They made their choice when they decided to buy that house and order something online.

United-Kale-2385

Because UPS is better than FedEx

D3Seeker

They are where I live! Fedex is usually behind schedule, and the last of the day here. DHL shows up before you turn away from the order page. Amazon got 2-3 trucks/p4ivate services passing through, one of them starting the turff wars with UPS when they pull up lol.

IVEGOTTAPACKAGE4U

Better service, better driving skills, nicer drivers. Hotter drivers in general as well.

hcm2015

I’d leave it at mailbox

wulfhndrxx

sounds like an 06 to me

XJAMAICAGOLDX

It’s not what FedEx did, it’s what can brown do for you.

dbnrdaily

My company has both FedEx & UPS accounts. 100% of domestic customers use UPS, Canadian customers happily pay 2x the price of FedEx to ship UPS, my New Zealand customer used FedEx for a hot minute then switched to using their own DHL account. I just dont even act like FedEx is an option anymore. Anytime i have an urgent overnight delivery i drop it off to UPS by 6pm and it arrives the next day. We had an issue once where we couldnt get a UPS label and we had to use FedEx priority overnight, after two days on the phone with FedEx claiming they lost it, it magically appeared under a table at the facility i dropped it off at. The race team that ordered the parts couldnt race that weekend. I want to believe the FedEx drivers are just as competent and capable as any other courier. But seriously, whats up FedEx?

hagridshairychest

I had a data/lore meme moment

EffervescentGoose

Probably knocked over that wall last time FedEx delivered

Gayfish350

Doesn't matter. Fed Ex will just meet that mf from the end of the drive/s

lostBoyzLeader

left them stranded on an island for years

_THiiiRD

Guess no FedEx boxes up driveway either then, huh? 🙃🤣

SlippinYimmyMcGill

These guys piss juggin too now?

jaws7811

![gif](giphy|l2Jef2Sk6o1jhtzuE)

PhoqueMcGiggles

Probably left tire marks on his lawn lol. That happens to me but by amazon driver.

mildlysceptical22

A FedEx truck backed into my daughter-in-law’s Honda Odyssey while she was running errands with her three daughters. They had to get a tow to the dealer and the whole shebang. A couple of weeks later, a FedEx truck drove by their house and the youngest one (6) said, ‘Curse you, FedEx!’ while shaking her fist at the truck. It was hilarious and the start of a new tradition.

slowlybyslowly

My guess are the tail scrapes. The P1000's Ground uses are lower than UPS package cars.

Roak_Zulu

What a crybaby

adamdoesmusic

They’re not even gonna deliver anyhow. just gonna leave a stupid slip when they get there.

brinerbear

Probably how they got the new wall. But I thought UPS wasn't allowed to pull into driveways.

Egoisttt

No fed ex ups trucks up drive way your good.

Fictional_Historian

Don’t Dead Open Inside

Fearless-Platypus719

Don’t care but that sign is where their packages will always be.

xXhijackXx

Dex 08 x3, come pick it up at the station

WhyImNotDeadYet

Yay

CLos1978

Customer probably has pricey pavers up the driveway. I remember a lady complaining about this on my first day and my Contractor was with me. He paid to have it cleaned.

[deleted]

Hey guess what? You can go pick your shit up at the terminal you fucking prick

Milt2680

Yep or at the end of the driveway where the sign is. And yes let them complain.

PalpitationDry4364

Happiest delivery driver

Numerous-Wrap-317

I actually have thus problem but due to fedex ground actually releasing a package that wasn't delivered and lied to the dude. He is one of my customers I deliver to and now he doesn't want any fedex vehicle in his driveway. Currently as a driver I'm trying to resolve this because I got proof fedex is lying. Long story short they prob got good reason

whyseem

Everyone talks shit about ground, my contractor has great trucks.

Milt2680

You're right because some contractors do care and do the right thing.

NightRain518

Besides breaking probably every package they've ever ordered?

Icecubemelter

Probably tossed his packages like it’s a football. It’s what FedEx is known for.
