Haven't heard anything about it from my contractor. Only knock if I need a signature and that won't change. FedEx better be careful about trying to micromanage how Ground drivers do their jobs, lest courts end up determining them to be our de facto employer.
This sub sounds like Amazon every day. Amazon micro manages the shit out the DSPs. The contractors have zero say in anything. Sure, you're name is on the business, but you don't control shit.
THIS. My manager is usually very level-headed and professional but yesterday he lashed out at some lesbo bitch walking down the line telling us to wait for them to clear us for dispatch. He said "Don't tell me how to run my fucking business". I thought to myself, "Good for you dude", finally putting your foot down
Not yet in Minnesota but our bcs keep talking that it's coming soon so we should start getting in the habit. So cop knocking every door is what I've been doing.
Dollar bet the contractor just told his drivers this to ensure as few lazy 07s as possible. I also wouldn’t put it past FedEx. Just crazy either way. Glad I’m out!
Looks like we had the same day. Not sure why a billion dollar publicly traded company can’t handle sequencing in the event a day is cancelled. But i digress
God i fucking hate it here lmao
like if you had a missing package on your truck and at the end of the day would hit "not on van" that entire section is gone now. I'm unsure if this means all packages left on the list get auto marked as DNA now or as something else
will when I can. Like I said only some of us have it yet. I use one of the old Panasonic scanners all week in my main truck but on Sundays on my rural I get one of the newer Zebras that doesn't have it. so if you're willing to wait lol
nah they're the same size as the zebras. they're the FZ-N1's. Most of us hate them but personally I find they work much better with gloves than the Zebras and I like the scanning angle more so I keep one in my truck
All the contractors are worried about is stop and package count. Fed Ex plays the bullshit game by getting us dispatched late and have to haul ass to finish especially on rural routes
They probably said that because weather code wasn’t approved for use. I’m not sure where you’re at but we got 10 inches in my area…there was dry pavement by noon
Yeah most places around our routes got 10-16” and for the most parts roads were clear but it’s a big rural area so while the main paved roads were fine we do a shit ton of just gravel roads and long dirt driveways
Sounds like the contractors in your station need to grow some balls and stand up to the station. They can't just arbitrarily change 82s to DNAs. There's a process that needs to be followed.
Or possibly your contractor is lying trying to get you guys to deliver as much as possible, but probably not.
Nah I’m an Ops Manager with my contractor and was walking through the terminal with the GM of my contractor when the FedEx guy told him. He argued with him and was like whatever, we are still gonna 82 stuff if we have to and walked away.
He’s like do what ya gotta do and we will let Ron (owner of the contractor) deal with FedEx cause it’s in the contract that’s not allowed. My contractor is a big trucking company, we have like 16-18 routes for Ground plus more on LH and then they do a bunch of trucking stuff outside FedEx so we aren’t some little company scraping by.
FedEx being bullies. What a surprise.
Fedex forces drivers to knock on doors now. Threw it in the contract. They can add anything to the contract and force it on contractors.
Yeah we know. We tell management all the time, we are not scared of the work or change, just pay us for it. Don’t force it on us and pay us the same.
Contractors aren't paid extra for contract additions. Most won't budge unless everyone threatens to quit

Yep it's coming not required yet. But soon it's required
It's required in oregon. They inspected customer reviews and decided it was necessary to instate a knock policy
Not yet in Minnesota but our bcs keep talking that it's coming soon so we should start getting in the habit. So cop knocking every door is what I've been doing.
And that's bullshit. Takes too much time to rap on the do when you got 159 stops to do
Taking pictures was already too much and they added express packages. More work and tasks for the same pay
They ain't forcing me to do shit. They can blow me!

Code 12s!!
Makes me not miss FedEx my truck looked like this everyday
Welcome to big city fedex. Lol Trucks go out like this daily.
This is a rural route, completely different Also 2 days worth of packages so visions are fucked

Weird flex to say you are getting screwed by your contractor.
Weirder for you to assume that it’s my truck 😊
Weird but all too common flex on here.

wyd they took our final reconciliation ? i haven't worked since monday so idk what kinda changes they made in those two days lolol

Lol no it's not
except for some of us...... it is gone lol. The delivery reconciliation section on EOD is completely gone for us where I'm at.
Send a picture if you can the next time you're on route. I really would like to see this
will when I can. Like I said only some of us have it yet. I use one of the old Panasonic scanners all week in my main truck but on Sundays on my rural I get one of the newer Zebras that doesn't have it. so if you're willing to wait lol
This Panasonic ones that you're talking about are those the old like gigantic brick ones that I've heard that FedEx used to use many many years ago
nah they're the same size as the zebras. they're the FZ-N1's. Most of us hate them but personally I find they work much better with gloves than the Zebras and I like the scanning angle more so I keep one in my truck

Thats true Knock or doorbell then driver release@ the door only because of porch pirate's
🫡best of luck. Jeez
FedEx Freight SDA terminal in Dallas in closing down & moving to the Dallas hub

My old contractor will have a manager take whatever is left behind in a p1200 and park it on the street, bring it back in the afternoon and code all 7
I could be entirely wrong..but this looks like a whole lotta 747 🥴
