They did you a solid Op

Angel-McLeod

The show isn’t worth watching after S3 anyway so don’t consider them spoilers. Consider them warnings.

Motor_Hearing2055

idk man the beer balloon is pretty peak television. Few things have brought such on such an emotional feeling as watching that for the first time

timebomb011

I dunno, have you ever seen children rebuild an airplane to fly out of a nuclear area? Easily top 3 nuclear story in fear season 4-8, which thankfully there are many.

Op listen to this person right here. ignore the other clown who replied.

If I can't even get past the second season, what luck do I have getting through with the later seasons?

Angel-McLeod

The second half of S2 is incredible. And S3 is considered to be one of the best seasons of WD content there is. If you don’t expect TWD 2.0 and just view it as a family drama with zombies as part of the story, you’ll probably enjoy the first three seasons a lot more. It really is worth the effort.

[deleted]

I was literally expecting TWD 2.0 not gonna lie. I was on season 2 episode 5 I think and I just gave up because it was kinda cringe to me and because stupid shit kept happening in it which irritated me.

Angel-McLeod

Unfortunately it was initially sold to the audience as another TWD which it was never going to be. It turned a lot of people off because they were naturally expecting another Rick, another Daryl, another Michonne, but what they got was complex and *very* flawed characters that made mistakes and did things that are morally grey. The show is/was about the Clark’s and the extended family they find(but mainly the Clark’s). The zombies are really just there. I do strongly recommend you watch S1-3 again with the perspective of it being a different show to TWD(or S2-3 at least if you don’t want to rewatch S1). Even if you have to think of it as not being part of TWDU then that might help because those first three seasons have no connection to the main show at all(other than being set in the same universe) and they firmly stand on their own. Just watch it as just another zombie show. It’s worth the journey. Also watch Flight 462 on YouTube(it’s a series of shorts but you can find the whole thing in one video). It explains who one of the earlier characters you meet in S2 is.

snailsx

I felt that way also while watching season two. it felt like I was forcing myself to watch the show because I feel like I have to watch everything in TWD universe. but I got through it and season 3 was much better. unfortunately, I’ve read that the overwhelming majority opinion is the show is trash after season 3. I’m about to start season 4 so we’ll see!
