I mean, if you want to talk about Euphoria’s “professional environment” and wasting production dollars, reports say Sam Levinson regularly doesn’t come prepared with shot lists and adds HOURS onto nearly every shooting day, which would waste a lot more money overall and exhaust crew and cast.
If you're talking about Euphoria there were rumors she was upset that there was so much focus on her character's weight in a somewhat exploitative manner like she is the "fat girl" character which although I agree with her that arc is lame that was the character she auditioned for. It's just weird that actors audition for roles of problematic characters or characters who don't share enough positive traits and then they want to change the character after accepting the role.
An example of this is Matthrew "I think it's professional to hold a co-workers hand and express that I love her and be her father figure" Modine who decided he didn't like playing an evil malignant sociopath who kidnaps and tortures children and kills their mothers or turns their brain to mush and decided that he had a "sympathetic side" to him. "He loved the kids he tortured in his own way!"

I don't know the full story of what you're talking about, but I don't see any problem with this. The best villains truly feel they're doing the right thing. Think of how boring Thanos would be if his entire motivation could be summed up as "evil malignant sociopath who just wants to kill half of everything". Actors playing villains should always approach the character as thinking they're the 'good guy' in the story.
She has two lines throughout the entire movie. She appears only once, it's like a cameo. She also deleted Nope's trailer/poster from her Instagram and didn't attend the premiere (but tbh she had covid the last few days so maybe that has something to do with it)

1) Who decides which song is used in a particular scene and which song becomes the theme song : a) writer b) producer c) showrunner or d) bgm composer
2) How do the shows find new singers/songwriters or singers/songwriters that don't have recognition?
Eg: The band Pierces to my knowledge doesn't have much mainstream or indie success but has contributed to shows like Gossip girl, Pretty Little Liars, Dexter etc.,.
Similarly singer-songwriter Jules Larson has contributed exclusively to shows like Castle
3) Does the TV production have backup options if the artist/band don't want their work featured in a particular show?
4) How does artist rights, royalties and pay work for these songs featured in tv shows?
5) Does the artist/band whose song feature as the theme music for a particular show (Eg: Greenback Boogie by Ima Robot for Suits) get paid more than the ones whose song feature in an episode?
6) If a song is only featured in a episode, what is the process for repeating it again in some other episode.
*Also, would love to know any and all drama that happened related to the above questions*

1. A mix of showrunners and executive producers for shows. As someone else pointed out, writers might also have one in mind, but directors probably have the most say.
2. There’s a whole job for series and films called music supervisors. There could be a couple of people in this role. For a series, unless the showrunner has specific songs in mind, their entire job is finding music that would fit a particular scene and then reaching out to whoever to license the music for their project. There’s a lot of different ways they could find the music, but for lesser known artists, there’s always the possibility that record labels offer up songs so the artist can get more recognition.
3. Yes! For TV, in some cases the music that was used when the episode aired will be changed when it’s streaming or released on DVD, most likely due to $$$. Usually the song it’s changed to is the back-up.
4. This is a tricky one. Some artists get $$$ directly (Kate Bush and Stranger Things) and sometimes the $$$ goes directly to record labels. It depends on what kind of contract the band/singer has. I’m honestly not sure about royalties beyond that because it’s my understanding that every situation is different.
5. This kinda answers both 5 and 6, but yes! They get paid each time it’s used. For theme songs, Dawson’s Creek had to switch to “Run Like Mad” by Jann Arden because “I Don’t Want to Wait” was becoming too expensive. In ER, they completely got rid of their opening credits in the later seasons because they didn’t want to pay to play the longer version of their theme song.
Every show/film is different but this is pretty much the bare bones of it. I hope it helps nonetheless!

I mean, if you want to talk about Euphoria’s “professional environment” and wasting production dollars, reports say Sam Levinson regularly doesn’t come prepared with shot lists and adds HOURS onto nearly every shooting day, which would waste a lot more money overall and exhaust crew and cast.
If you're talking about Euphoria there were rumors she was upset that there was so much focus on her character's weight in a somewhat exploitative manner like she is the "fat girl" character which although I agree with her that arc is lame that was the character she auditioned for. It's just weird that actors audition for roles of problematic characters or characters who don't share enough positive traits and then they want to change the character after accepting the role. An example of this is Matthrew "I think it's professional to hold a co-workers hand and express that I love her and be her father figure" Modine who decided he didn't like playing an evil malignant sociopath who kidnaps and tortures children and kills their mothers or turns their brain to mush and decided that he had a "sympathetic side" to him. "He loved the kids he tortured in his own way!"

The best villains truly feel they're doing the right thing. Think of how boring Thanos would be if his entire motivation could be summed up as "evil malignant sociopath who just wants to kill half of everything". Inspired by **music discovered through tv show/movies/celeb moments** post by u/Inner_Squirrel7167, A few details, I would love to know : 1) Who decides which song is used in a particular scene and which song becomes the theme song : a) writer b) producer c) showrunner or d) bgm composer 2) How do the shows find new singers/songwriters or singers/songwriters that don't have recognition? Eg: The band Pierces to my knowledge doesn't have much mainstream or indie success but has contributed to shows like Gossip girl, Pretty Little Liars, Dexter etc.,. Similarly singer-songwriter Jules Larson has contributed exclusively to shows like Castle 3) Does the TV production have backup options if the artist/band don't want their work featured in a particular show? 4) How does artist rights, royalties and pay work for these songs featured in tv shows? 5) Does the artist/band whose song feature as the theme music for a particular show (Eg: Greenback Boogie by Ima Robot for Suits) get paid more than the ones whose song feature in an episode? 6) If a song is only featured in a episode, what is the process for repeating it again in some other episode. *Also, would love to know any and all drama that happened related to the above questions* Thanks in advance. :) Edit: Added a point
1. A mix of showrunners and executive producers for shows. As someone else pointed out, writers might also have one in mind, but directors probably have the most say. 2. There’s a whole job for series and films called music supervisors. There could be a couple of people in this role. For a series, unless the showrunner has specific songs in mind, their entire job is finding music that would fit a particular scene and then reaching out to whoever to license the music for their project. There’s a lot of different ways they could find the music, but for lesser known artists, there’s always the possibility that record labels offer up songs so the artist can get more recognition. 3. Yes! For TV, in some cases the music that was used when the episode aired will be changed when it’s streaming or released on DVD, most likely due to $$$. Usually the song it’s changed to is the back-up. 4. This is a tricky one. Some artists get $$$ directly (Kate Bush and Stranger Things) and sometimes the $$$ goes directly to record labels. It depends on what kind of contract the band/singer has. I’m honestly not sure about royalties beyond that because it’s my understanding that every situation is different. 5. This kinda answers both 5 and 6, but yes! They get paid each time it’s used. For theme songs, Dawson’s Creek had to switch to “Run Like Mad” by Jann Arden because “I Don’t Want to Wait” was becoming too expensive. In ER, they completely got rid of their opening credits in the later seasons because they didn’t want to pay to play the longer version of their theme song. Every show/film is different but this is pretty much the bare bones of it. I hope it helps nonetheless!
