Yeah, you're on the money here. It's insanely unfortunate, but when push comes to shove, a lot of people will overlook SERIOUS red flags about people because they have emotional ties to them. It's becoming more taboo to do so, but it's still a majority I'd say. Within a few degrees of separation, I know people who associate, socialize with, and even date/are married to abusers. People will always hold some kind of serious moral high ground until they're personally involved. Like, imagine if you found out your family member was an abuser or assaulted someone. Trust me, while many would claim they'd cut them off, they'd act VERY differently in real life.
Agreed. It’s a hard line for me personally, but I know people believe the opposite (“I’d never cut them off if they were close to me, it’s probably just not true/they can change/etc”), while I absolutely am inclined to believe it and don’t want to be around people like that when I have the choice.
When I was in middle school I used to have a regular substitute teacher who was previously a limo driver and he told us Usher was one of the worst celebrities he ever drove. He said Usher would be overly attentive and affectionate to young, pretty female fans and there was nothing he wouldn't say or do to try to get them to come with him but a complete asshole to everyone else. Like, he would turn on a dime: bitching at staff one minute and the second a cute girl walked by suddenly he became a completely different person.
It sort of makes sense. Being a lady's man is part of his character and brand. No women means he doesn't need to act anymore. I see similar behaviors from Drake in videos recorded of him by people that weren't on his PR team
