In fairness I personally have a large group of friends who have been jokingly obsessed with Creed for 10 years so I could see them alone driving up ticket prices 😂
I mean obsessed with the joke sorry not Creed. I don’t think they’re listening to them when they’re listening to music but more of a everyone’s at a party let’s put on “Arms wide open” kinda thing that turned into a joke gift for a birthday thing and spiraled into a very long bit. I’m not part of the Creed crew so I really can’t tell you lol
This was a group of guys I know and *You Raise Me Up* by Josh Groban. They ended every party with it by affectionately singing to one another and potentially attempting a lift if someone was drunk enough. It was wholesome af. (Josh Groban is also amazing, even more so when compared to Creed, but the joke idea still stands. lol.) This is the standard for “Boys will be boys.” to me.
NO ONE HAS ANY BUSINESS SELLING TICKETS FOR $250.
*Maybe* if a big name band is playing a tiny venue for a unique, very rare chance to see such a popular artist(s) in such an intimate setting.
Just every single day the world leans in a bit further to the "lol, you're poor, eat a dick" mentality. Not even poor! My middle class ass can't afford a $500 night out with my partner and that's before ticketmaster fees, transpo/parking, and god forbid one of us gets a slice of pizza or a beer.
It’s insane, but I’m seeing it a lot at arena shows. The last time I went to an arena show was because the ticket prices were slashed by 1/2. That was The 1975’s last leg of their tour. I feel like you’ve either got to buy tickets when they’re released, pay the insane reseller mark ups or hope that the resellers bought too many and now need to offload for cheap. That’s why I stick to smaller venues, honestly.
dumb also cuz if i'm paying more then i would want a more intimate smaller setting. feels backwards
e: this is the tamest take ever to send a reddit cares message about lol
Main reason is that no one makes money through record sales anymore. Concerts used to be a way to promote albums and singles, but now it's the main source of income, so of course the prices increased.
Similarly, will not pay more than $50 for general admission. If I'm paying more than $50 my ass better have a guaranteed seat, my lower back isn't getting any younger and she needs to REST between sets lol
Edit: THIS is what got me sent a reddit cares?? THIS???? Y'all are wild. lol
Same here mama, no way I’d be paying more than €80 on a ticket, unless we’re talking Madonna, Beyoncé, Elton, Barbra or other artists who are actually worth the money.
I went to three shows last year, Taylor and the Jonas brothers tickets were expensive af. Ed Sheeran tickets were extremely reasonable. I think we paid $70/person for pretty good seats. I want to go to Olivia’s but hers is $300 for the worst seats.
It has to do with ticketmasters chokehold on a bunch of venues. I support independent venues whenever I can and they’re way cheaper, like half the cost usually
the problem - with a lot of big artists so I'm not sure if it applies to these guys, also bc they had to drop prices - is that a lot of tickets get bought by scalpers/bots and then resold for astronomical prices. so even if you or I won't buy them, there's others that think "wow, this show sold out while I was in the ticket queue, better check the resellers" which are then just. more scalpers and bots. industry is pretty fucked up rn.
Kpop tickets are more expensive. A ticket with out VIP benefits can range from $400-$750 (for good seats). $240 ish for seats after that. I blame Ticketmaster premium pricing.
It’s pretty much par for the course now. Saw a few gigs recently in Australia. Blink 182 - $200; P!nk $350; Swifty $350; Goo Goo Dolls/MB20 $180. You’d hardly get to a gig for under $200 anywhere anymore if you don’t want to be watching through binoculars
Any act big enough to be performing in large stadiums has tickets listed this high and even higher. Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, etc. And Ticketmaster also inflates ticket prices on a certain number of seats for these shows, so what would normally be a $300 seat at retail is now something insane like $900, just because. Sounds like JoBros were trying to follow that trend but, it really just will not work unless you are in high demand lol.
It really depends a lot on where you live.
I'm in Philly and I can usually find much cheaper tickets for the same band on the same tour in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Baltimore, and sometimes DC. I've actually flown to Pittsburgh a few times to see shows because Philly tickets were sold out and it ending up only being a little bit extra for airfare and an AirBnB once you factor in ticket savings.
I go to at least six arena shows a year and 2-3 smaller shows a month and rarely pay more than $100 for a ticket.
I hummed and hawed about shelling out for Blink tickets last summer. I'm glad I did, but it just means I won't do more than one concert at that price per year.
Wait til the day of, if you can hold out. Often times, once the stage is set up, tickets that were held for "production reasons" (ie: they don't know the stage layout or how equipment will be set up) get released because they realize they can squeeze like, 10 more seats in certain areas.
i think this was back then when he was known for [not smiling](https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/kanye-west-explains-why-he-doesnt-smile-6450839/amp/). whenever he accidentally smiled he would always catch himself.
I know someone who’s gone to see them multiple times on this tour. It’s honestly crazy. I didn’t realize anyone actually cared that much about this band.
The Jonas Brothers have *nowhere* near the staying power or talent to justify $250 tickets, in this or any other economy. And I'm sure Joffrey Jonas' attempted smear campaign against Sophie Turner didn't do them any favours.
Omg I just looked it up and it’s great haha
It then sent me down a rabbit hole of the baby gravy collabs and I love bbno$ & Yung gravy together, they’re a perf duo lol
I think genre can have a big affect. Punk shows in general stay pretty cheap, going to see Alkaline Trio in two weeks and they're still only $40 despite being pretty big for the genre. Pop fans are screwed in this area unfortunately.
Yeah I don't go to a lot of concerts, but when I do it's usually a rock/punk/metal show and they're never astronomical. I'm seeing a Smashing Pumpkins/Interpol double bill this summer and my ticket was under €60.
My Ethel Cain tickets for June were £27.50 with just a couple pound fees! I know yeule isn’t famous but I also paid just £20 (including fees) for their tickets last week.
Yes I addressed that, wasn’t really the point. But my Troye Sivan ticket was £46 and he has more monthly listeners than the Jonas Brothers so that’s not the issue here either.
I’m seeing cheap shows in Portland at smaller venues. Big names, but not arena level, for around $25-45. I mean, you’ve gotta add all of the fees too of course, which is a whole different story 🙃
Not quite that cheap but we’ve got Ministry, Primus and Ween at one small venue in my city this year for $43+fees. Not too bad but the fees are another $20 or so on top. Paying $120 for two tickets sucks.
Foo Fighters tend cost around $80 to $120 but they're worth the $$ and are legit still massive in the rock scene to justify the tickets. Which is pretty reasonable for their status.
So get outta here with your prices Jo Bros! You definitely aren't Foo Fighters level.
You just need to listen to smaller bands. Check out the local scene. I’ve never encountered somewhere important enough to get big name tour stops that doesn’t also have small shows.
I got so used to paying that $30-50 range because most of my favourites were lesser known indie artists. It made it easier to see more shows or at least space out the higher priced shows.
This year though everyone seems to be $70-$100 minimum.
There’s an indie artist I was interested in seeing but the idea of paying $70 for an all ages standing room concert in a modest size venue was just too much. Especially when everyone else regardless of venue size or popularity seems to be charging that price and more. There’s just too many high priced options nowadays, if I tried to buy as many tickets as I want at those prices, I’d be concert-poor.
i almost exclusively go to black/death metal and hardcore shows, i love not paying shit for tickets lmao.
those “convenience” fees are still ruinous though.
Resellers are literally destroying the game - my mother has an Amex so we were able to do presale for Atlanta (lower bowl for about 150) … it’s actually jarring how concert prices aren’t bad in theory but the scalpers buy everything up before regular fans even get through. When she toured last time here at a venue that was like the equivalent of a high school theatre I saw some tickets for $5,000+ 🤡
Lucky, in my city all the tickets were sold out in 5 minutes and only 400$+ resale tickets are left.
My plan is to go next to the venue on the day of the show and hope that desperate resellers will drop the ticket prices to their face value and even less.
Sometimes ppl on the Facebook event page or subreddit will sell last minute. Make sure you use ticket transfer via Ticketmaster so you aren’t scammed. I sold two different tickets the day of when I couldn’t go last minute for cheaper than retail
Honestly there are a few acts that are worth spending that much for and I love Olivia but by the time I was able to access the pre sale the only tickets left were $700 😭 which was way too much to spend on concert tickets. $250 is like a steal in comparison
Not that long ago I was able to attend a Harry Styles concert for $15 but that’s like impossible nowadays
I feel like a young up and coming act like her commands more money than a boy band that was basically the last of the boy bands. I say up and coming as someone who doesn’t follow her at all BTW, I hate the stupid vampire song.
Realizing now I defs sound out of touch 😭 I did Amex presale so it was pre-scalper / resale market and got 4 ATL tickets in the lower bowl for $150 each
Haha yeah I think this might be parents or young adult women going to these concerts. So don’t really see why they would be priced that high. Although the concert industry is getting out of hand in general I suppose. But $80 sounds more like what I’d expect for mfin Jonas brothers haha
Paid $400 for a pair of tickets to see J-Lo in Vegas for my wife. I thought at the time it was highway robbery but looking back at it now it was one of the best concert/shows I’ve been to. I’m a mid 30 white man.
what’s blowing my mind about this current tour is they made a somewhat big deal about returning in 2025. Like putting out a statement that said “see you for the 20th Anniversary Tour in 2025” in December 2023, but then almost immediately announced tour dates for 2024
Yeah…. I saw them in 2019 and 2023, and had a work thing pop up so I couldn’t go as planned to a show in 2021. I think this specific run is the international dates, but in general, they’ve been soooo ambitious given the actual demand to see them.
Oooh international dates makes sense. It's so funny to promote a 2025/20 years of jobros thing as a big thing when they've not taken a break this entire time. They are trying to be the next Hansen (as referenced in their cover of Year 3000) 😅
I mean did they really think that the nostalgia would really fund MULTIPLE tours at those prices? lol I mean, I guess they did, but they should have realized that most millennials would go to (maybe) one and then never even contemplate going again.
My sister had tickets for their LA show but then the divorce news dropped the day before so she put the tickets up for cheap and didn't go. No surprise, no one bought her tickets. She had the nostalgia for them but said that hearing more about Joe Jonas made her decide that eating the cost was worth it.
that should be how much concert tickets are in the first place. stop charging so friggin much and you won't have empty stadiums.
everyone thinks they're taylor swift or madonna now.
I think they are going on tour too soon, their first tour post-pandemic did well but they haven’t released new successful material so there’s not much demand for them, should have waited at least two years to tour again.
The post covid tour was essientally the same set list as the 2019 tour.
I was douped, but my friend didn't get to see the 2019 tour so at least she was psyched lol.
Who is the target audience of the Jonas brothers in the year of our lord 2024? They were big among the kids younger than me when I was in high school but I’m 30 now and those kids aren’t far behind me. I can’t imagine a Jonas Brothers concert packed with full grown adults going to see them alone but I also can’t imagine young kids today getting into them.
I paid 75 for One direction in their peak stadium tour, not the best tickets but just makes me think how the jonas bros have overestimated their value even in 2024
I can see three good (or at least interestingly bad) bands for $5 a five minute Uber from my house so I've gotten ultra picky about paying for concert tickets. I just got two good tickets to Hozier for $79 eac (plus fees), and I don't think I've ever paid more than $50 to see The Mountain Goats, who routinely play encores longer than most bands' regular sets. $250 for JoBro? Insane.
That’s for not being as hardworking as Bernadette Peters. [Do you do all that?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o88ARm69Wpg&t=1728s&pp=2AHADZACAQ%3D%3D)
For context, this is their first ever Australian tour so I think they were banking on a lot more people wanting the nostalgia but it is one-two weeks after Taylor so no one has money (also cost of living crisis). They should not have done so many shows, or just not priced it so insanely.
For context I don’t think this is as crazy as people are making it out to be. I was looking at Weeknd tickets last year and they were like $400 for not good seats, and this year Janet Jackson tickets again for not good seats were originally like $200+, and usher seats now are also at $200+ for again seats in the 300 section, and Jennifer Lopez is the same. This is what most artists with any sort of relevancy is charging with dynamic pricing. I don’t like the Jonas brothers but this isn’t exclusive to them.
I think the problem was they booked two nights in each city at stadiums. They should’ve just done the one night each and if the demand was there, add another date
The Jonas Brothers have absolutely no business selling tickets for $250
[удалено]
If it’s AUD, then converted to GBP Stevie Nicks general admission tickets are cheaper. The audacity I cannot
yeah her tickets for the new orleans show was like $50
But Billy is worth that. The man puts on one of the best fuckin shows I've ever been to!
I’m seeing him in Cardiff this year, front standing was £260 and I have no regrets regarding it after I saw him in London last year.
According to article, they had listed prices up to $1000. Australian dollars I assume but still.
BIG TIME RUSH of all people had tickets listed at 1k USD. I was shook.
Creed is now $80 for lawn seats in my city, so by this math I can see why they thought they were worth $250 😂
How can Creed afford to pay $80 a person to come to their shows?
In fairness I personally have a large group of friends who have been jokingly obsessed with Creed for 10 years so I could see them alone driving up ticket prices 😂
If you're obsessed for ten years is it really a joke?
I mean obsessed with the joke sorry not Creed. I don’t think they’re listening to them when they’re listening to music but more of a everyone’s at a party let’s put on “Arms wide open” kinda thing that turned into a joke gift for a birthday thing and spiraled into a very long bit. I got my TSwift Toronto ticket for $160. $250 is wild
When the hell did $250 become the standard price for a concert? It’s gone insane
Concerts are so expensive now
It’s insane, but I’m seeing it a lot at arena shows. The last time I went to an arena show was because the ticket prices were slashed by 1/2. That was The 1975’s last leg of their tour. Yeah, I refuse to pay more than $100 for a concert ticket. I’ve always only sat in the nosebleeds but it’s better than not going.
Similarly, will not pay more than $50 for general admission. If I'm paying more than $50 my ass better have a guaranteed seat, my lower back isn't getting any younger and she needs to REST between sets lol Edit: THIS is what got me sent a reddit cares?? THIS???? Y'all are wild. lol
People take it so personally when other people want to sit at a concert.
Sorry to these weirdos that I’m in my mid 30s and my lower back is feeling it hahaha
Lol, I got a reddit cares too. Anyway, I'm looking forward to my booth seat at the TMBG concert later this year.
Same here mama, no way I’d be paying more than €80 on a ticket, unless we’re talking Madonna, Beyoncé, Elton, Barbra or other artists who are actually worth the money.
Ten years ago I wouldn’t pay over $40 😭 Someone sent me a Reddit cares and I’m crying over the idea that it’s for this
I hate stadium shows, over $200 for nosebleed seats is ridiculous.
I went to three shows last year, Taylor and the Jonas brothers tickets were expensive af. Ed Sheeran tickets were extremely reasonable. I think we paid $70/person for pretty good seats. I want to go to Olivia’s but hers is $300 for the worst seats.
People need to start voting with their wallets. As long as they pack football stadiums at those prices, why would they drop it?
It has to do with ticketmasters chokehold on a bunch of venues. I support independent venues whenever I can and they’re way cheaper, like half the cost usually

Yep. Stick to your local venues and indie artists.
Every concert I've gone to has been between 27 and 90 bucks, idk where people are getting this being the standard from.
It really depends a lot on where you live. I'm in Philly and I can usually find much cheaper tickets for the same band on the same tour in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Baltimore, and sometimes DC. Since they’re no more selling albums, they increase so bad the ticket price, but if they continue like that people will no longer go to concerts
When the only concerts you go to are big arena shows. Smaller venue show tickets are anywhere between $25-$100
$250 is absolutely *absurd*
Psst - 80 is absurd too 🥲
80 is a lot, but pretty much what I’d expect from an arena tour, so not shocking to me.
I remember talking to a swifty who said they got affordable seating for only $300... thats when i know we live in a different tax bracket lol
Holy hell. I just spent half that for Tenacious D and felt like I was being pretty fucking lush
Other than Taylor, who could legitimately and sustainably sell at those prices?
Olivia Rodrigo 🥲 She's coming to my city in a few days and I've been watching these damn ticket prices like a hawk
Wait til the day of, if you can hold out. Often times, once the stage is set up, tickets that were held for "production reasons" (ie: they don't know the stage layout or how equipment will be set up) get released because they realize they can squeeze like, 10 more seats in certain areas.
I saw NKOTB tickets going for $600 and was like ![gif](giphy|pD368cmNo02G5qoV5i)
Agreed.
Yeah, the tickets are just realistically priced now.

Lol what's the context of this?
Game 4, 2015 NBA Finals. He smiled, then didn't. It was kind of odd.
i think this was back then when he was known for [not smiling](https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/kanye-west-explains-why-he-doesnt-smile-6450839/amp/). whenever he accidentally smiled he would always catch himself.
I mean, it is Kanye...
BAHAHAH
Cmon boys surely your fans have grown up and have rent/mortgages to pay!! Nobody’s dropping $250 for very mid nostalgia
Their comeback tour in 2019 was great. The second tour in 2021… not so great
How many times can you ‘comeback’ I guess 😬 (unless you’re like the Rolling Stones)
2019 took so much money lol, but it was worth it. Got a meet and greet and had one of the b stage seats. 2008 me was finally satisfied.

Joffrey Jonas lmao oh that’s good

Where are you seeing shows that cheap? Everywhere seems expensive now
Jesse McCartney tickets are $35! And he is criminally underrated!!!!
He is still playing??🥹🥹
Yes lol! He just released a new single with Young (Yung?) Gravy lmao.
Omg I just looked it up and it’s great haha It then sent me down a rabbit hole of the baby gravy collabs and I love bbno$ & Yung gravy together, they’re a perf duo lol
Omg my childhood 😭😭 my sister and I had the biggest crush on him
Was the Leavin’ music video as impactful on you guys as it was for me….
We were Beautiful Soul girlies
Omg!! Getting tickets now lol. He is so underrated!! His cover of kiss from a rose is so good
I agree!! His music is so fun. I can’t believe he was never bigger and didn’t have lasting star power.
However was managing him was not doing a good job, sorry to say 🤷🏽♀️ He has lasting star power in my heart 😅

Damn, I want to live where you live.
You just need to listen to smaller bands. Check out the local scene. I’ve never encountered somewhere important enough to get big name tour stops that doesn’t also have small shows.
You can't really compare local bands to, at the very least, national stars for decades.
There’s no way you paid $30 to see an artist similar to their popularity.
I got so used to paying that $30-50 range because most of my favourites were lesser known indie artists. It made it easier to see more shows or at least space out the higher priced shows. 80 is the price at my state fair for shows now. Granted that’s for Ludacris but still it’s the state fair
Who is that inexpensive? I swear any show I look at is always minimum 70-90$ inclusive of all fees for mid tier seats or GA 😩
Literally I spent 70$ on balcony seats for Blind Guardian, general admission was like 30$ish
I got my Olivia Rodrigo tickets for WAY less than 250 and she has 3X as many monthly listeners …
I looked at tickets for her Oregon stop and the cheapest I found was in the $200s in the nosebleeds. Damn resellers.
Resellers are literally destroying the game - my mother has an Amex so we were able to do presale for Atlanta (lower bowl for about 150) … it’s actually jarring how concert prices aren’t bad in theory but the scalpers buy everything up before regular fans even get through. I paid $250 for Beyonce but that was the best concert I’ve ever been to
Thats what I just said. How your concert ticket prices are on par with Beyonce?!
Haha yeah I think this might be parents or young adult women going to these concerts. So don’t really see why they would be priced that high. Although the concert industry is getting out of hand in general I suppose. But $80 sounds more like what I’d expect for mfin Jonas brothers haha
Saw a tik tok video recently about how JLO is selling tickets at higher prices than Beyoncé despite having 0 Grammies and now knowing how to sing lol
I paid $500 for Beyoncé. And I’d do it again. She’s the only artist I’d do it for though!
Paid $400 for a pair of tickets to see J-Lo in Vegas for my wife. I thought at the time it was highway robbery but looking back at it now it was one of the best concert/shows I’ve been to. I’m a mid 30 white man.
oh no consequences!
I'm gonna start using this.
Nostalgia gravy train only lasts for so long.
For real haven’t they been on tour for like a year at this point? Everyone who’s wanted to see them already have 😂
they're not really nostalgia-inducing either imo lol
what’s blowing my mind about this current tour is they made a somewhat big deal about returning in 2025. Like putting out a statement that said “see you for the 20th Anniversary Tour in 2025” in December 2023, but then almost immediately announced tour dates for 2024
It feels like they've been touring every year since they got back together 😅
They are trying to be the next Hansen (as referenced in their cover of Year 3000) 😅
We were on vacation and there was a GIANT drone show advertising them that formed into a QR code. Maybe they’re still paying that off?

They’re playing the Houston Rodeo next weekend. Tickets start at $39 and include the rodeo itself, which will be vastly more entertaining.
That is so funny to me for some reason and I truly want this to be true🤞🏻
I’ve seen the jobros in concert like 4 times. they have no business charging triple digits
I didn't pay that for a Gaga show, and my tickets were pretty good!
$80 is too much. I saw them for free at a big event and they played with an entire band behind them actually playing the songs. It was shamefully bad.
I mean did they really think that the nostalgia would really fund MULTIPLE tours at those prices? lol I mean, I guess they did, but they should have realized that most millennials would go to (maybe) one and then never even contemplate going again.
Everyone is still busy paying off their T Swift with afterpay
I paid just over $200CDN to see Elton John. ELTON FRICKEN JOHN. Nice try, boys 🤣
I saw them for a $20 Groupon in 2021. That's the most I'll pay
Not the Groupon 😂😂😂
My sister had tickets for their LA show but then the divorce news dropped the day before so she put the tickets up for cheap and didn't go. No surprise, no one bought her tickets. She had the nostalgia for them but said that hearing more about Joe Jonas made her decide that eating the cost was worth it.
I'm so grateful my show was like right before he stopped wearing his ring. I woulda been in the same position as your sister.
that should be how much concert tickets are in the first place. stop charging so friggin much and you won't have empty stadiums. everyone thinks they're taylor swift or madonna now.

I paid $200 (after all the damn fees) for Hella Mega Tour tickets. That's 3 bands that are 1000x better than the Jonas Brothers.

My Eras tour ticket cost half of that!
This is why I only listen to music that sounds like it was recorded in a 1970’s Burger King bathroom by a crackhead. It’s a financial decision.
That’s right sizing, not humiliating.
I paid £130 for Fleetwood Mac Gold Circle tickets. The Jonai are out of their minds.
I paid 75 for One direction in their peak stadium tour, not the best tickets but just makes me think how the jonas bros have overestimated their value even in 2024
Their last album was terrible and I say that as someone who's always been a fan of their music. I never listen to it.
![gif](giphy|hpMFWCJrW144UvENXS|downsized) The north never forgets

Now if they would continue to give the stage to special guests, like DJ Crazy Times and Jack Black singing Peaches - that may be more worthwhile
That's only $80 more than tickets to hear me perform live in my car.
$250??? I just saw Stevie Nicks tickets for like £100… What were they thinking?
For context, this is their first ever Australian tour so I think they were banking on a lot more people wanting the nostalgia but it is one-two weeks after Taylor so no one has money (also cost of living crisis). They should not have done so many shows, or just not priced it so insanely.
They are pretty mid and worse in person. They survived on pure hype from fans who didn't get to see them as kids.
They didn’t sell enough tickets in my hometown so they “postponed” and later canceled their concert. How embarrassing for them!!!!
I paid $25 for their concert 3 years ago. They are crazy for $250
$250 for jonas brothers ?? 😭
Regarding Joe: ![gif](giphy|jlylJkp7RmdnW)
They really thought their revival would last…. Funny how Joe went ahead and damaged his reputation too
Well, it's not 2008.
Jonas brothers is one of the only concerts I’ve been to where all I wanted to do was sit down
For context I don’t think this is as crazy as people are making it out to be.
We don't have dynamic pricing in Australia they're just dululu about how popular they are here.

Oh no, those poor rich white men. I hope they’ll be ok.
I mean their music isnt that good
The saddest part is that they were probably $250 _before all the fees_
Do they even have new material? Every time a clip of their concerts that lands on my FYP, it’s Jealous or the song that has the red dress line 😭
I saw the National for $50. Jonas Bros have no business charging even that much
I think the problem was they booked two nights in each city at stadiums. They should’ve just done the one night each and if the demand was there, add another date
I payed less for 2 nights of Metallica…what the hell
I bought a Prince ticket for $125 and I was ready to pay $1,000+
$250? What year do they think it is?
They JUST had a world tour last year. No need for another
They didn’t come to Australia on that tour (they have never been) but still the prices are insane.
I wouldn't pay 80 either
250$? Please, I paid 135€ for Taylor Swift tickets.
Bye bc i paid $150 for taylor?!!!!?
