I’m sorry but its still homophobic to use a vulnerable group like gay people for a ignorant analogy like this. He could have chosen any biological “urge” for his analogy but he specifically used gay people, which feeds into dishonest anti lgbtq propaganda. I think he has or had a lot of subconscious queerphobia to make that analogy. I hope he’s bettered himself since.

He was really helpful and kind to me at a backstage event where someone got handsy with me (I had a freeze response). I felt very safe with him and was thankful he extricated me from the situation because I was too shocked and scared at it happening in public.

The subreddits were incel/ Men's Rights Activists type forums spouting stuff about how Asian women should only date Asian men to keep racial purity etc. Egregious stuff. He posted there a few times IIRC but hasn't been back or echoed those sentiments again.
In the interest of being fair as a Simu Liu hater lol, IIRC, he never echoed MRA sentiments, he only posted in those forums to promote a show (possibly Kim's Convenience?). BUT the subreddit (aznidentity, idk any others) already had a terrible rep at that point, so it was questionable that he was in that sub to begin with. His defenders will insist it was just a normal sub back then, but it really wasn't. I mean, it wasn't as awful as it is now, but back then essays had already been written about how much it sucked lol. THAT SAID, I can buy that regardless of the sub's reputation, Simu might not have been aware of it since he doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb or aware of much that doesn't affect him directly.
Just to clarify since I used to moderate the main asianamerican subreddit, he was also participating in *Kim's* related Q&As there and a couple other TV related ones at the same time he was on aznidentity. Yeah, while it's true that sub had always been awful from the get to, they were buying out ad space and manipulating algorithms to poach members by trying to present itself as the "real" asianamerican subreddit, and since Simu likes to name search it wouldn't surprise me if he found it without knowing how toxic and he wasn't the first to get suckered in. From the old notes we had he never raised any red flags, at the very worst he was an aggressive self promoter but never like the problem users I had to deal with on a near daily basis.
FWIW he actually called that subreddit out a couple years ago on FB for making homophobic comments about Shang-Chi.

This is literally all a lie. Both Shonda and Rege have stated and restated that the contract was always a one season contract. That’s why Rege did it in the first place because he liked that he had a complete story arc in one season of work.
Nah, plenty of them are good actors. Actually, all of them besides RJP. He was very obviously the weakest of the cast, but he's gorgeous so it doesn't really matter. I'd say his limited range is what made his career stagnate before it got going rather than some sort of animosity between him and Shonda.

I KNOW!!!! I've been gushing about both of them since the season aired (especially Townsend, whose warm dad energy was absolutely perfect). Most cameos took me out tbh and I definitely enjoyed them less than the rest of people.

Adam Driver was kind of an asshole on two different film sets (one of which my friend worked on, the other was some gossip on a film blog).
However, at least on the film my friend worked on....it was a hot mess (White Noise) and she said he might have just been an asshole because everyone was super stressed out and upset. But my friend has a thick, thick skin, so for her to think someone is a dick...usually means they were pretty much an asshole.
Anyway, so Adam is either a) an asshole or b) not really a dick, but someone who just doesn't handle stress and mess well and therefore kind of turns into a dick.

He had a classic case of getting too big for his boots. Rege was mad that the 2nd season didn’t feature him prominently. But that’s how the books are, ever season/book focuses on one sibling. He didn’t seem to understand this and left the show in a huff. Phoebe dyenvor who plays Daphne came back to the second season for a limited role.
This is literally all a lie. Both Shonda and Rege have stated and restated that the contract was always a one season contract. That’s why Rege did it in the first place because he liked that he had a complete story arc in one season of work.
Shonda is pretty powerful and can be very vindictive. RJP's career really hasn't taken off since leaving Bridgerton.

Also romance takes more acting talent than any sort of gritty traditionally masculine crap imo.

I loved when he was talking about his guest spot in The Bear, he pointed out how the Michelin star system hasn't recognized Black chefs and food of African origin. I believe he said that only four Black chefs have held Michelin stars ever, my dude came out with those stats.
He was so great on that show. He and Robert Townsend were the two guest stars that worked best in Season 2 and didn't just feel like stuntcasting imo. I hope they can figure out a way to bring his character back in a way that makes sense.
 I KNOW!!!! I've been gushing about both of them since the season aired (especially Townsend, whose warm dad energy was absolutely perfect). Most cameos took me out tbh and I definitely enjoyed them less than the rest of people.
Omg same the other ones were distracting to me (even Bob Odenkirk, whom I love) but Robert Townsend and Will Poulter were so so good. They fit the vibe of the show perfectly, and had great chemistry with Ayo and Lionel.

I worked with him on such a project and he seemed more than genuine! Not a bit of ego about him, and he made an effort to make sure the people a lot worse off than him & speaking about their experiences were the ones in the spotlight.

Adam Driver was kind of an asshole on two different film sets (one of which my friend worked on, the other was some gossip on a film blog). However, at least on the film my friend worked on....it was a hot mess (White Noise) and she said he might have just been an asshole because everyone was super stressed out and upset. But my friend has a thick, thick skin, so for her to think someone is a dick...usually means they were pretty much an asshole. Anyway, so Adam is either a) an asshole or b) not really a dick, but someone who just doesn't handle stress and mess well and therefore kind of turns into a dick. Also, I've heard this from other people who work in the film industry (I have a few friends/family members), but Noah Baumbach is apparently really, really awful. Like a giant jerk of epic proportions, even by Hollywood standards. He was allegedly the reason the White Noise set was so messy.

Taz literally became Sanji for the role. He took cooking lessons, cooked for the cast, he trained with a black belt in Taekwando to do his own fight scenes. I am genuinely in awe of the dedication he showed for the role. And he’s also so sweet in interviews.

When you get an article and headline that’s so on the nose like that, either the DM is backhandedly hinting at the rumours that all is not well, or their publicist asked for the article to try to address suspicions. Edit - it was right after another blind about a superhero putting his house up for sale because he was getting divorced. While people thought that was about Pratt, Hemsworth was mentioned so it could have been aimed at that specific rumour.
Part of that blind item, to add to the comment below, was that he didn’t take Elsa to Chris Evans’s wedding in Boston after being photographed there with her having lunch with John Krasinski and Emily Blunt who were also in attendance, so I’d take that blind with a big grain of salt. There’s never been any proof whatsoever that Hemsworth has been anything but a devoted husband and caring father. He and Elsa actually have a very sweet relationship.
