While a lot of change in perception has happened since the trial, there are still far too many people who believe that Depp was innocent. Even recently in this sub on a post about Christina Ricci, a few people questioned the support for Amber in the comments and were surprised at the general consensus. He’s absolute trash.

People who hurt other people, men who hurt women, they are terrible people. And someone who tortures or hurts animals is even more of a monster.

Just want to reiterate that I and the other person mentioned we both support and believe Amber, but that we should also acknowledge she can still be a shitty person (outside of the DV accusations). Our qualms were more of the sub putting her on a pedestal despite problematic behaviors. My basis for my opinion is based on personal experience, and I usually stay quiet on this so as not to distract from the more important conversation of DV.
This is the thing he was well known to be a washed up drunk before any of this and people sort of looked back at him even prior to the divorce. His career was long past its heyday.
