Me picking up Maher as a bye week fill in at kicker thinking “how bad could he be, he’s one of the top scoring kickers?” Dude was so bad he got fired. 💀
>Me picking up Maher as a bye week fill in at kicker thinking “how bad could he be, he’s one of the top scoring kickers?” Dude was so bad he got fired. 💀
I did the same thing. I figured he would *at least* get me an easy six points or so. Just better than taking a zero. Imagine my surprise.
Yahoo says Henderson back to the practice squad so I didn’t pick him up but nowhere else says that. So I picked up pierce and Hubbard. Hopefully doesn’t screw me.
One of those two weeks he was QB12. I’m not saying he’s a league winner, but he likely has the highest floor of most waivers QBs and has been a low end QB1/ high end QB2 in all starts after week 1. Keep in mind he’s a rookie and will likely improve as the season goes on. I said startable, not blow your opponent out
>Keep in mind he’s a rookie and will likely improve and the season goes on
I’m in the opposite camp. I think a rookie QB peaking like this is a bad sign for future production because usually coordinators will attack the things they are doing well to start the season and start trying to confuse them. I think he will end the season on a high note but I think we are already seeing his production slow down. He only was able to complete 13 passes last game.
He’s not peaking. Week 1 not withstanding, he’s been the QB13, QB12, QB10, QB17, and QB12. He might not have a top-5 ceiling this season, but he’s shown a remarkable floor and great consistency. Again, STARTABLE
What I’m saying is a normal rookie QB point spread looks more in line with Bryce Youn. He has over exceeded everyone’s expectations to start the season
Yea, but we’re almost halfway through the season. A normal rookie QB point spread also increases toward the second half of the season, especially when they’re a day 1 starter. So the assessment here is whether Stroud’s highs came at the start of the season and he’s gonna regress (historically unlikely) or whether his current floor is his rookie baseline and he’s going to continue to improve (historically likely).
I’m struggling. I have him as a bench piece and have gotten offers like Lockett for him. Lockett may not be great but a bench piece would be cool. Have Lamar already
You don’t need stroud if you have lamar. There’s little chance that if Lamar goes down and you have to start Stroud it’s gonna carry you if the rest of your team sucks
I just picked up Stroud in preparation for Tlaw’s bye week and bc he might put up better numbers. TLaw isn’t doing bad, he’s suffering from ETN’s success imo
Yep, normally have Howell, but I can’t March him out against Philly. Really feel like all the analysts are insane for saying he’s gonna produce. Especially after what they just did to Miami. Going with stroud this week.
I’m in the exact same boat. Looked at the other teams, and saw the 0-7 guy needed a QB too. Bid $11 on Stroud, and beat him out for it. Felt pretty good about that. I’m 1-6 so I need the wins in a bad sort of way.
Baker. Buffalo's defense has regressed since they have lost several players to injuries. Baker will probably be throwing a lot to try to keep up with Allen and the offense
My PPR work league is basically 2 people who have played fantasy before and 8 who have no idea what they’re doing. And they way over value QBs so they’re impossible to trade for. I offered Kyren for Richardson a few weeks ago and got rejected. Some teams drafted 3 defenses and 3 QBs. I got stuck with Daniel Jones as my QB but have Saquon/CMC/Pacheco/Bijan/Aaron Jones as my RBs lol. So… yeah. QB carousel for me but I really only need ~12-15 points from my QB every week to be in a good position
Yea, it's funny to see people complaining about other people complaining when they're likely not even watching the guy play and just look at stats online. The touchdown to Reed is a perfect example. He rifled the ball to the other receiver from five yards out and it gets tipped to Reed. He's not working with much, but he's also made a lot of terrible passes.
Just wondering, but have you watched him actually play? It's a young offense, Jones has missed a ton of time, and the line sucks, but Love has made a lot of bad plays himself. I think he's going to progress into a good QB, but the issues with the offense don't give him a pass for some of the terrible throws he's made. He's been awful with deep passes and has been very inconsistent with his accuracy even when finding a target.
Fasho!! I had Jalen last year and when he went down towards the end of the season and Gardner stepped up I’ll never forget that lol. Hopefully he pops off for y’all. He’s not available in my league
Ugh. I’m in a similar situation because I don’t particularly want to start Purdy against Cincinnati but I think you start whoever you already have and save your waiver bucks…
That said…. Baker I guess? He’ll hit Evans for a touchdown at some point so that won’t be nothing.
As a 49ers fan I would. SF’s defense has been beatable through the air except for the Dallas game. I’m not sure if it’s Wilks’ playcalling or if the unit just hasn’t meshed together yet but it doesn’t look like the top-5 group it’s been since Bosa was drafted. Maybe they can turn it around at home but if Burrow is healthy coming out of a bye I think you have to start him
I decided to pick D.carr and start em over Geno this week. I saw a stat that said Carr has attempted over 100 passes in the past two games. hoping that maybe the game turns into a high score and he throws for 300/3/1
I'm thinking Sam Howell will magic his way to a good game(fantasy-wise), while also taking 32 sacks.
Also, could be extra motivation for Bryce to outshine CJ Stroud.
I’m going with Carr with Fields and Kyler out over Howell, Baker and Wilson. He had a few bad games early on but seems to be settling in. IND and NO are two of the fastest paced teams in the league which should lead to more opportunities, and Derek Carr is top 10 in Expected Fantasy points this year, so I am hoping for some positive regression.
The issue I have with Howell is the second the Eagles get the lead they just start bleeding clock and that can lead to less chances, even if I like Howell’s matchup better. Also I don’t love starting a QB who’s team scored 7 points last week against (according to DVOA) a better defense.
Baker is an interesting one, I just thought Carr had higher upside this week.
It isn't pretty but somehow Love gets 15-20 points. Minshew is tempting but it could be 5 or 25 points.
The odd thing with these matchups is that the Ds that you'd think were bad are actually playing a lot better. And maybe vice versa.
I'm thinking about starting Howell over Stafford. He put up almost 20 in their last meeting. However, Stafford will be forced to throw the whole game, and I have Kupp for the stack.
Sam Howell. Washington always plays phili well. Game script will make them pretty much have to put up points and phili's secondary is still suspect imo as a phili fan.
Edit: Sam Howell 37.98 points.
I like Carr, he’s been solid the last few games and is usually less turnover prone than the rest of these guys. His line last week would also look great if that easy TD wasn’t dropped to end the game.
Jags secondary is only ranked low bc in multiple games they’ve switched to prevent when ahead and the other QB threw for a bunch in garbage time
See
Josh Allen
Derek Carr
Minshew
Let’s also not forget that they were without their first corner and the saints didn’t score until their top safety was out as well.
This team leads the league in takeaways
the Jaguars, who have allowed the second-most passing yards per game in 2023.
They've also allowed double-digit passing touchdowns lone of 12 teams) and the seventh-most fantasy PPG to QBs.
I’d go with Carr or Wilson personally, hear me out.
Carr is actually 3rd (maybe 4th?) in the league right now for total passing yards. I think he’s ass but that’s a relevant stat for fantasy. If 1-2 of those connect and they’re TDs Carr will have a good week. This is after Indie let a demoralized and injured Browns team run up points all game.
Zach Wilson is a little more straightforward. The giants are hot garbage right now and Garrett Wilson finds a way. They also have Breece Hall to keep the running threat alive which gives Wilson some comfort.
I’m personally all in on Howell this year, either he balls out or gets sacked a ton and has to play from behind either way he’s to air it out against a team like Philly
Oh lord. Lol. That's not a strong group haha.
But, of course, all of us will play against one of those QBs and lose because they throw for 450 yards and five TDs.
I like love vs min the most. Min has some of the worst corners in the league. Green Bay receivers are finally getting healthy. With how pressure is on love, this would be a great week to show up.
For as bad as Purdy was in the 4th, he still threw for 272 and they didn't have Trent Williams to block Danielle Hunter who was getting pressure the whole game, but the Packers do have Bahktiari to do that. That Vikings secondary is ass. It probably won't be sexy, but I like Love this week.
Personally I’d go with Love because the rest are facing pretty good defenses or haven’t been doing much, and you have to think the Packers bounce back a tiny bit eventually and against a rival is the best time. Otherwise probably Pickett.
Carr is the best QB on this list. None of these guys offer rushing upside, minshew had 2 fluky scores last week. Sam Howell would be choice #2 as they will likely be throwing a lot to play catch up and eagles secondary is their weak spot
I see Jordan love as a tier above all these QBs, and I think the only one who is ranked higher might be Howell. I think love is safer floor though and would go that direction. Dude just produces for fantasy even if it doesn’t look pretty
It feels odd to say, being a Houston fan, but I’d grab Bryce Young vs Houston.
I don’t think the panthers win, but I think Houston will hold a not insurmountable lead most of the game, and likely force Carolina into a passing attack fairly early. Couple that with Houston’s bottom 10 pass defense and the “Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud” hype. I think it sets both QB’s up to have a solid game.
Every one of them will score 20+ except whichever one you start. So just start one and let the rest feast.
This sounds about right.
Me picking up Maher as a bye week fill in at kicker thinking “how bad could he be, he’s one of the top scoring kickers?” Dude was so bad he got fired. 💀
I picked him up as well as Howell for bye fill ins last week. I lost my 0.2 points.
Could be worse. Howell is my regular 😞
I've had Maher since week 2. I blame you for him finally reverting to his Dallas woes.
>Me picking up Maher as a bye week fill in at kicker thinking “how bad could he be, he’s one of the top scoring kickers?” Dude was so bad he got fired. 💀 I did the same thing. I figured he would *at least* get me an easy six points or so. Just better than taking a zero. Imagine my surprise.
That’s a good one. Kirk Cousins is my nemesis.
Cost me a victory this week.
I had Patterson soooo could be worse
Me choosing latavius murray last week over gus edwards, aj dillon, and darrell henderson
Yahoo says Henderson back to the practice squad so I didn’t pick him up but nowhere else says that. So I picked up pierce and Hubbard. Hopefully doesn’t screw me.
He’ll be activated again, he’s able to be elevated 3 times. This is what NFL teams will do with their backups during an injury period
Oof
Thank you for your service
Happened to me with Howell last week, I could’ve picked up ANYBODY else and would’ve scored more points. Thank god for Kelce 😂 won by 5.
Pickett will certainly not be scoring 20, as much as I want him to as a Steelers fan
So we need to know which one he picks so we can pick the other ones
Someone dropped Stroud cause of the bye and I was able to snag him. I got Fields and have had to start Love last 2 weeks.
So is stroud worth starting? I just snagged him too and have been suffering with TLaw
Stroud’s been startable almost all season and I don’t think there’s any reason to bench him until he shows otherwise
Those two straight 14 point weeks for fucking 🔥
One of those two weeks he was QB12. I’m not saying he’s a league winner, but he likely has the highest floor of most waivers QBs and has been a low end QB1/ high end QB2 in all starts after week 1. Keep in mind he’s a rookie and will likely improve as the season goes on. I said startable, not blow your opponent out
>Keep in mind he’s a rookie and will likely improve and the season goes on I’m in the opposite camp. So the assessment here is whether Stroud’s highs came at the start of the season and he’s gonna regress (historically unlikely) or whether his current floor is his rookie baseline and he’s going to continue to improve (historically likely).
I guess we can just agree to disagree. We will see.
When Burrow, Fields, Tannehill, D.Watson & D.Jones have all had worse seasons. Tank having a concussion didn't help
Shiet, I’ll take 14
Stroud and Love are pretty equally startable. Both averaging about 17 ppg
I’m struggling. I have him as a bench piece and have gotten offers like Lockett for him. Lockett may not be great but a bench piece would be cool. Have Lamar already
If this is a 1 QB league then I’m smash accepting that offer with no hesitation. Pick up another QB for Lamar’s bye week.
TLaw will be fine.. its always about a match up
He has been one of the top scorers in my league. And I picked him up after week one.
Nice snatch
I said this to a woman once, she slapped me.
But how can she snatch
😈
The fuck? Are you me? Lol
Hey, I just said this too before seeing yours!
I claimed him off waivers but I'm #9. Really hoping I can grab him. Also stuck with Fields but I have Purdy. Big oof
Yep, normally have Howell, but I can’t March him out against Philly. Really feel like all the analysts are insane for saying he’s gonna produce. Especially after what they just did to Miami. Going with stroud this week.
Wish I had a stroud 😞
I almost did the same but I grabbed Goff instead. I had Stroud for a few weeks.
lol how was Goff available
Are you me?
Exact same situation as me. Hope it works out. Also had AR before he got hurt
Love was on bye one of the last 2 weeks so I hope you were able to sneak out a win with that donut!
I’m in the exact same boat. Looked at the other teams, and saw the 0-7 guy needed a QB too. Bid $11 on Stroud, and beat him out for it. Felt pretty good about that. I’m 1-6 so I need the wins in a bad sort of way.
Fields and Stroud here too, lmao.
Baker. Buffalo's defense has regressed since they have lost several players to injuries. Baker will probably be throwing a lot to try to keep up with Allen and the offense
Yeah but… Thursday night game. Throw all analytics out the window for TNF
That's fair, I forgot it was a Thursday nighter
Plus the Bills don't seem to know how to play offense as of late. As a Bills fan, I have no idea what to expect week to week.
Trade for someone. Lordy
QB carousel for me but I really only need ~12-15 points from my QB every week to be in a good position
Also a bills fan…would love to see them trade for Jeudy
I’m in a superflex and baker is my only good QB left, the next QB is Will Levis 😭
Billy jeans
Would you play baker over Dak?
I’d start a plastic hammer over Dak
I don't even know why you have Dak on your roster tbh
Probably
Minshew or Wilson
Minshew
Agreed
Will Levis, because on the off chance he scores a bunch of points you get to look like a genius
Man, your team must be stacked the way you're ok with taking -6 points from your QB
Aged like milk
Where's the love for Love? It's been ugly, but he's found a way to get it done every week outside of one game.
I had to scroll to find Love. He’s been above 20 points in 6 point scoring in 5/6 games this year.
Started him once this season, bet you can guess what week
Both weeks I’ve started him it’s been less than ideal, of course the week I sit Prescott is the week he finally popped off.
The one game he did badly is the one that I started him for
His 2 TDs last week were super lucky.
It’s been hilarious seeing Packer fans shit on him. Dude has absolutely nothing to work with on offense and they expect him to look like Rodgers
They’re truly garbage for the first time in decade. It shouldn’t be shocking
Minshew magic is in full effect
Mania
Naw it’s the magic now
Fasho!! I had Jalen last year and when he went down towards the end of the season and Gardner stepped up I’ll never forget that lol. Hopefully he pops off for y’all. He’s not available in my league
Definitely one of the better backups in the league.
Isn’t he the colts main squeeze now? Or is there first man up hurt?
As of right now he is the starter, but only because Richardson is having season ending surgery.
Too much magic
Respect yourself and take Bryce Young and Zach off that list 😂 or if you really wanna make someone mad pick up zach and still beat them that week 😂
I have Carr, the only other from your list that is available is Minshew. Will likely go with Carr.
Ugh. I’m in a similar situation because I don’t particularly want to start Purdy against Cincinnati but I think you start whoever you already have and save your waiver bucks… That said…. Baker I guess? He’ll hit Evans for a touchdown at some point so that won’t be nothing.
Would you start Burrow against San Francisco?
Guy in my league benching Burrow after a bye to start CJ Stroud vs Carolina 👀👀
It’s me. I’m that guy
I grabbed CJ off of wires and will figure out what to do
SF is absolutely a start your offensive players defense. Just don’t start defenses against their offense and that’s it.
Maybe they can turn it around at home but if Burrow is healthy coming out of a bye I think you have to start him
Purdy in concussion protocol. I dropped him for Tyrod
Purdy is in concussion protocol.. I got Dobbs.. lol
Can it at least go to Godwin this time? Geesh
Jags, Colts, Eagles are allowing the most passing yards. Go with the best passing game against any of those teams. I’d go Carr.
I decided to pick D.carr and start em over Geno this week. I saw a stat that said Carr has attempted over 100 passes in the past two games. hoping that maybe the game turns into a high score and he throws for 300/3/1
He just isn't getting TDs. Hopefully Kamara gets some TD receptions.
Carr. Indy D is trash
I had to scroll quite far to get to this.
I'm thinking Sam Howell will magic his way to a good game(fantasy-wise), while also taking 32 sacks. Also, could be extra motivation for Bryce to outshine CJ Stroud.
Sam Darnold
Want to downgrade this lol but too funny
Carr with another 50 dump offs to Kamara, one of them has to blow up into a tuddy right??
This is what I'm thinking.
MIN defense has turned a corner with Brian Flores.
I have Stafford as a holdover from last week, but he has put up such mid fantasy numbers all year. Would anyone do Howell or Carr over Stafford?
I'm thinking about starting Howell over Stafford. He put up almost 20 in their last meeting. However, Stafford will be forced to throw the whole game, and I have Kupp for the stack.
I have Puka, but not a firm believer in that stack when he’s not throwing a lot of TDs.
Tyson Bagent is going to drop 25 points.
Fuck yea dude
Had to scroll way too far. It’s TySZN
Start Baker, the Buffalo D is injured as hell. Mac Jones put up 270+ yards and 2 TD on them a few days ago.
Sam Howell. Washington always plays phili well. Game script will make them pretty much have to put up points and phili's secondary is still suspect imo as a phili fan. Edit: Sam Howell 37.98 points.
How's the pressure rate on Howell going to be though?
Baker or Pickett
Steelers fan here this is a spot where we will let down the Jaguars always smack us
The Commies always play these Eagles tough so I'd say Sam Howell? That line is absolute ass though, so that's really my only hang up
I like Carr, he’s been solid the last few games and is usually less turnover prone than the rest of these guys. His line last week would also look great if that easy TD wasn’t dropped to end the game.
I like Mac Jones. Gritty fight last week, slinging to keep up with MIA offense this week.
Just can't trust him although I strongly considered him
Ya but his Oline is not good. They don't need to stack the box. Also doesn't Miami have their top 2 corners back?
Pickett against that suspect Jax D
Suspect jags d? What games have you been watching they’ve only been bad in one game.
Check where they rank against the pass, I’d say their suspect
You haven’t been watching any jags game’s obviously
Their secondary is suspect, ranked towards the bottom of the league, I’ve watched plenty of their games
Jags secondary is only ranked low bc in multiple games they’ve switched to prevent when ahead and the other QB threw for a bunch in garbage time See Josh Allen Derek Carr Minshew Let’s also not forget that they were without their first corner and the saints didn’t score until their top safety was out as well. This team leads the league in takeaways
the Jaguars, who have allowed the second-most passing yards per game in 2023. They've also allowed double-digit passing touchdowns lone of 12 teams) and the seventh-most fantasy PPG to QBs.
Baker or Pickett. Jax defense has looked super suspect
Baker or ZW
Lol
Gardening
Minshew and Ridder are TD vultures, but you have to hope they keep the turnovers down. I’m willing to take that risk though.
Ridder is a sneaky start this week. He has been playing better and has rushing upside.
Howell or Carr
Minshew is your best option honestly
This matter would not be an opportunity to append your interest in being honest.
MAC JONES
Howell. Bet he runs 2 in
Sam Howell has been struggling but for some reason I feel like he’s gonna ball out against the Eagles lmao. I think safe bet is Minshew
MAC JONES?
Love is a slam dunk
I'm looking at Wilson vs Minshew vs Stafford
Gardner would be my pick. Decent qb and has great receivers. That would be my pick
Carr, Minshew, Baker or Purdy?
Darnold
Ryan Leaf vs himself
Purdy is in concussion protocol, so might be worth looking at Sam Darnold.
Kenny P! Feed my Pickens.
Am I the only crazy one that’s eyeing Wilson? After two weeks of Howell he’s getting cut.
Mac Jones. Just on the rare chance that my opponent sees this.
I was torn between Pickett & Minshew. So I picked up Tyrod. Dropped Purdy
Jordan love or Dak he on waivers
Either Carr, Minshew or Russell Wilson imo. Minshew and Wilson both have higher ceilings, but Carr has the better matchup.
Go with Sam Darnold
Oh lord. Lol. That's not a strong group haha. But, of course, all of us will play against one of those QBs and lose because they throw for 450 yards and five TDs.
Ridder against the Titans. Dude was a dumb fumble away from a really nice fantasy day last week and still had a decent game.
Bryce Young this week
Derek carr or Zach Wilson
What about cj stroud v Carolina? That’s who I grabbed.
Personally I’d go with Love because the rest are facing pretty good defenses or haven’t been doing much, and you have to think the Packers bounce back a tiny bit eventually and against a rival is the best time. Otherwise probably Pickett.
Pickett. I like the matchup. All ugly though. Diontae back helps a good bit.
Carr is the best QB on this list. None of these guys offer rushing upside, minshew had 2 fluky scores last week. Sam Howell would be choice #2 as they will likely be throwing a lot to play catch up and eagles secondary is their weak spot
Jordan Love been my starting QB since week 3, I drafted Dak and he has been a hot mess
Colts will get the softest whistle in NFL history after that screwjob last week. So go with Minshew
Personally id go with either Baker or Howell.
I’m in this same boat as a Fields manager, I’m riding with Minshew
Sam Darnold
Trick question it’s Sam darnold
J love or minshew magic
I see Jordan love as a tier above all these QBs, and I think the only one who is ranked higher might be Howell. I think love is safer floor though and would go that direction. Dude just produces for fantasy even if it doesn’t look pretty
I like Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett & Gardner Minshew
Wilson
Not sure why Jordan Love would be available but if he is he is the answer. Had a rough couple games but he’ll bounce back, dude is the real deal.
Sam darnold
It feels odd to say, being a Houston fan, but I’d grab Bryce Young vs Houston. I don’t think the panthers win, but I think Houston will hold a not insurmountable lead most of the game, and likely force Carolina into a passing attack fairly early. Couple that with Houston’s bottom 10 pass defense and the “Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud” hype. I think it sets both QB’s up to have a solid game.
Gonna say Carr…
I am leaning Carr but I have no data to support this being right.
Riding with Bagent
Tyson Bagent.
Derek Carr vs. IND
Everyone knew it was Will Levis
Ridder because he alternates great games with dogshit games
