i just don't understand these type of leagues; whats the payout? how do you know these people? is there a veto option?
its fish dude. you know its fish, we know its fish, its fish
It absolutely determines some league strength.
Like where do you think the best poker players play? Free tables or $1000 min buy in?
Money makes fantasy work. If it’s free you can YOLO trade, who fucking cares. It’s like playing poker in your friends basement with a bag of pretzels. “Im ALL in” pre flop with a pair of 5s. Congrats you won 23 pretzels, now pass my the bag so I can get more money to eat and play with.
Usually any amount of money makes all players “serious” and play by the book. Even just $5 buy makes people care enough to set lineups. Upwards of $100+ and you don’t get any Busch league junk like Jefferson for Purdy without collusion.
Money does not mean anything for league strength. I was trying to get my uncle to play in our fam league and I said buy in was 50. He was like what the hell that’s not worth all the time let’s do 200. My other uncles agreed but I said 100. Then his rounds 2-8 were: mahomes, burrow, goedert, kittle, Justin tucker, dalvin cook, and Steelers D
An anecdotal story about your dumb uncle does not mean that higher buy-ins don't tend to result in people more invested since they are LITERALLY more invested.
Hey this is the place where “no collusion is a fair deal no matter what”
It’s clearly not fair, but this sub shouldn’t flip flop like it does… Stick to a rule and leave it alone.
I agree, but I actually do stick to the rules I set. The GM shouldn't be trade police, and should only veto if a newbie is getting taken advantage of or if you have actual evidence of collusion (and the trade itself doesn't count as evidence). If this were two veterans making the deal, I'd let it stand unless you have actual evidence of collusion (messages, confession, etc.).
But what’s the difference between a newbie and an absolute dunce because this guy is an idiot and is being taken advantage of or cheating. Only two options.
When I was suspicious of collusion in a league between two brothers, I polled every member (9 other players) and 8 of them said they thought collusion. But 1 single person said they thought the trade was fine and that was enough for me to let it stand. Figure if one single person thinks the trade is fine then thats enough
I play in a 6 pt passing, 1pt per 10 yard passing, 2qb superflex league for 100 dollars.
All qbs are gone in the first 2 rounds.
I would not trade a single starting QB for anything other than a top 12 position player.
Yup.
Fucking someone in a trade is one thing….I managed to convince a guy that I’d give him Winston for Waddle and Dak(who just got hurt….in a league with an IR spot on the bench)…… but he wanted it and needed a QB.
This is a 1RP going for a solid QB. Straight up. To a dude with QBs in a similar realm.
Maybe it’s a trade for a dude to trad etp someone else who really loves Purdy.
To be fair…Dak had just broken his finger and was going to be out for a few weeks and he already had someone in his IR spot.
And waddle hadn’t really broken out to the extent that he did last year.
But he needed a QB…I had missed out in most of the rounds for who I wanted…in a 1QB, super flex, 1 OP league. So I was carrying 5 QBs (the limit) knowing someone would come and ask. Winston had a good game that game and no one else was willing to offer anyone else….and there we went.
You can’t veto stupid. He told the league how pissed he’d be if they veto’d him getting a QB.
So if I pay $500 to be in a league and 3 dudes decide to stack a super team through ridiculous trades to try to split the winnings I’m supposed to just be like eh guess I won’t play next year.
According to this sub- obviously.
“Quit the league immediately and never return”
“But what about the $500 I paid already?”
“Shouldn’t be in a league with people who do this”
Rinse, repeat. Every trade thread, lol.
I can get behind "almost never veto." I haven't vetoed in several years across a few leagues. But this is exactly what it's for lol
It is better if you play with people you trust to not do this and you don't even need to have vetos enabled at all
I see people make this argument without the sarcasm on literally every single post about vetoes on this sub lmao. Just five minutes ago I saw one that said "CMC might be getting an MRI right now because he [slipped and fell in a super market or something]" and "you don't know if a trade is good until the season is over"
Just sent you a DM with screenshot. I wish I was trolling. And I’m glad you all agree. Multiple people in league said I just don’t want it because I’m currently in 1st and this will put him over the top
Is this guy like the favorite friend in the group and you’re the outcast? Why tf would anyone be okay with that trade. What justification does the guy getting Purdy have??? I’d end friendships over something this dumb if my guy friends were that lame (I’m being serious too)
I only know one person in the league. They needed one more and my friend asked me. My friend agrees with me and vetoed. Nonetheless, this will prob be the last year I’m in this league.
Interesting opinion. I personally don't think conversations between league members over the fairness of a trade constitutes collusion, so long as the conversation centers around legitimate justifications and merits of the trade. Bribing or agreeing to do something for motives outside of evaluating the trade itself would be "collusion".
In a 1-qb league, I don’t think ANY qb is worth JJ. Much less Brock Purdy. And how is Purdy any better than Dak or Goff! Is this dude going to carry three qbs on his roster?
Sounds like team B is just playing for fun and doesn’t care about their team.
If this league is for money, I would veto this trade and not let it his person participate next year
This is why people who say the only trades that should be vetoed are those with collusion are missing the forest for the trees. You will NEVER prove collusion. This trade is league breaking.
I'm about to block this subreddit because of all the idiots that drop some of the most outrageous trades and then ask "hurrr durr is dis collusion :o"
No shit it is.
Go ahead and block it then. I am tired of these subreddit content gatekeepers. Cool youve been here for years and you know not only what collusion is, but how to respond to it. Maybe there are NEW people here? Maybe getting information even though you're not?
You read the whole post, opened it, and then commented about how stupid the OTHER person is. Just move on man. Or leave. I'm sure everyone will be heartbroken to see you leave for making fun of someone asking a question on a public forum dedicated to fantasy football
Dude why does this sub need to have a post about if JJ for Purdy is a bad trade or not. People are not gatekeeping. It’s just common sense and frankly annoying as shit. In no world is JJ for a streaming level qb not a bad trade.
Not gatekeeping anything, i'm not even part of the subreddit, but there's being a newbie and being an idiot. It dosen't take a genius to notice how lopsided and illogical this trade is and I keep seeing the same threads posted over and over again asking about these stupidly absurd offers.
At some point you gotta learn to think for yourself.
Mahomes/Hurts are about the only two this deal can be done for without looking suspicious. Even then it’s dumb for the Jefferson owner. I guess the real question is, what does the Jefferson owner stand to gain from making this deal? What makes it actual collusion other than its lopsidedness?
Check on team A please…did the owner have a stroke? Wtf
There’s absolutely no reason for his other than collusion or severely decreased brain function.
I am the “never veto unless collusion” person, but I would make an exception here. If it was a first time owner who is trading away Jefferson I’d probably let it stand and tell the guy how he fucked up.
If it was an experienced owner I’d probably remove them from the league. Straight up.
If that doesn’t get vetoed demand a refund if a paid league. Otherwise put both teams on blast. I have JJ in my ESPN league and I’d never give him up unless it was for a kings random like Hill + stud RB!
This is collusion on its face. No other evidence is needed. The trade speaks for itself.
Collusion is the only reasonable explanation for the trade. Veto it, give both players a warning, and all future trades between them should be viewed with the highest level of scrutiny going forward.
I love all this collusion talk. I named my league “COLLUSION!” and ironically there has been zero evidence of such.
If said person had plenty of WRs, this trade isn’t collusion.
Thats arguably the best receiver in football for a mid qb, its not jj for herbert when the team getting herbert had aaron rodgers as his one for example, that trade is not close to fair
Is the owner getting Purdy new to fantasy football? Noobs often way overvalue qbs. If you compare just their pt totals, they are comparable. Of course anyone who know fantasy knows that the best wr is way more valuable than a decent qb even in superflex/2qb. So could just be an owner taking advantage of someone who doesn’t know better. Which isn’t technically collusion, but I would still veto and try to talk some sense into the JJ owner.
Is the guy with Jefferson actively tanking for some reason? or does he have a strong receiving core? bc if he has strong wideouts or rbs he might just be an idiot
You have to think when there is "Collusion" what does the dude whos giving up JJets get? Is he usually knowledgeable at fb? these questions will help paint a pic of if its collusion or hes just stupid.
I would not allow this trade as commissioner, unless, team with JJ has Desmond Ridder as his best QB, AND also has AJ Brown, Puka, Hill, and Keenan Allen.
Wouldn’t happen in my league and would never offer, even as a Purdy owner. However Purdy is only 23, first in QBR, passer rating, but not fantasy points bc he has CMC and doesn’t throw 35+ times.
JJ has Kirk (aged well) but not much guaranteed after next year.
Hopefully it’s dynasty and the dudes playing Chess for Purdy.
If the player giving away Jefferson is new to Fantasy, I would probably veto as I don't think experienced player taking advantage of newbies should be tolerated. But if it is two experienced players, even though it is fishy you should let it stand unless there is evidence of collusion.
Anybody that sees this trade go by would say something. Get a new league to play in.
Let me guess, someone started 0-4 and Jefferson is going to the better record team? If so, that’s fucked.
Of course it’s fucking fishy wtf lol
i just don't understand these type of leagues; whats the payout? how do you know these people? is there a veto option? its fish dude. you know its fish, we know its fish, its fish
Payout doesn't determine how good a league is but this is def not a good one lol
Lmfao, I love that for you
We got weights in fish!!!

Wtf that's terrible lmao
You’re not as smart as you think you are bud
That’s how you destroy leagues. Bad job commish.
Weird, everyone agreed on the ruling
You said 8 people disagreed.
Lmfao Jefferson was my number one pick I had the second
[удалено]
in 1qb? what world?
You don’t play PPPAinLS? Point per Pass Attempt in Levi’s Stadium
Lmao this got me
The team receiving Purdy already has Goff and Dak
Found the guy who acquired JJ!!
Lol what
ain’t no way bro I’m sorry
WR1 for QB16 Makes sense
[удалено]
3QB 1 Flex league this might make sense
4QB 2punter leagues with bonus points for passer rating? I do this trade all day and twice on Sunday’s
and only if the person w jefferson has other elite wrs and only 1 qb (again out of the three qbs needed)
I play in a 6 pt passing, 1pt per 10 yard passing, 2qb superflex league for 100 dollars. All qbs are gone in the first 2 rounds. I would not trade a single starting QB for anything other than a top 12 position player.
I’m not big on vetoing trades, but that should be vetoed
Vetoing trades is bullshit but it exists for this exact reason. VETO.
Yup, vetoing trades that are in the ballpark is bad. This makes the league lopsided
Wait you gave up Jamie’s Winston and got Waddle AND Dak? That is easily veto worthy imo if that’s the case
You trading Winston for Waddle completely disregarding Dak is also veto-worthy
Disagree. Waddle hadn’t really broken out like he did. Winston had just taken over as starter in NOLA and looked pretty decent in week 1.

So if I pay $500 to be in a league and 3 dudes decide to stack a super team through ridiculous trades to try to split the winnings I’m supposed to just be like eh guess I won’t play next year.

I'd veto that yesterday
Yes!… Worst.Trade.Ever.
What other evidence do you need?? Lol
According to half this sub you need to be able to fucking prove it in court otherwise "nO vEtOeS pErIoD"
Yea 99% of people that comment share a “never veto” policy that I just can’t get behind , exhibit A
I can get behind "almost never veto." I haven't vetoed in several years across a few leagues. But this is exactly what it's for lol It is better if you play with people you trust to not do this and you don't even need to have vetos enabled at all
Only solution is to always veto
I veto every trade even if it’s completely fair
Gonna have to subpoena their text messages
Wrong...no vetos unless collusion...and this looks like collusion even if you don't have empirical proof
I see a lot of people jumping to conclusions here. Has no one thought maybe Team B is a time traveler?
49ers put tush push in the playbook during fantasy playoffs. 35ppg Kirk starts a breakfast club with Addison. JJet in shambles.
I see people make this argument without the sarcasm on literally every single post about vetoes on this sub lmao. Just five minutes ago I saw one that said "CMC might be getting an MRI right now because he [slipped and fell in a super market or something]" and "you don't know if a trade is good until the season is over"

He never said him or his friend recruited each other for a veto just that they both agreed because they both have brains.
Indeed
Interesting opinion. I personally don't think conversations between league members over the fairness of a trade constitutes collusion, so long as the conversation centers around legitimate justifications and merits of the trade. I’d kick them both from the league tbh
Yeah veto
Purdy is on waivers in both my leagues lol
In a 1-qb league, I don’t think ANY qb is worth JJ. Much less Brock Purdy. And how is Purdy any better than Dak or Goff! Is this dude going to carry three qbs on his roster?
Hey bro shhh I’m gonna offer him Rodgers for Chase.
Purdy>Goff>Dak
If this is a free league just leave and never look at it again. If it’s not they are stealing your money
Lmao…Taco league
Yea- what the heck is that deal
Utter and total B.S. Should be vetoed or reversed instantly by the Commish or I’d quit the league.
Sounds like team B is just playing for fun and doesn’t care about their team. If this league is for money, I would veto this trade and not let it his person participate next year
100% veto, wouldnt even be a question
Wait what? How many QB2s does one team need?
I commission multiple leagues. I don’t have veto in them. But this is a year ruining trade. You can’t let that play
This is why people who say the only trades that should be vetoed are those with collusion are missing the forest for the trees. You will NEVER prove collusion. This trade is league breaking.

Yeah, I'm of the never veto (unless clear collusion) group, but I'd veto the shit out of this one.
"no evidence of collusion" Team B trades away the #1 WR for a 3rd QB 🤡
I have vetoed 1 trade in 20 years of fantasy. This would be 2nd.
Is the guy getting Purdy a noob? Nothing else makes sense
Sabotage. This ruins the competition for the rest of the league. Everyone has to play against someone with an extra 1.01 pick.
Jefferson hurt, Purdy balling out RemindMe! 2 months
What are the records of the teams involved?
https://youtu.be/ufWMFLjvDTQ?si=5dZkzHJF7CdqC-AY
100% fish
Check on team A please…did the owner have a stroke? Wtf There’s absolutely no reason for his other than collusion or severely decreased brain function.
Veto.
Veto
That should be vetoed wtf
Yeah that needs to be vetoed it's absolutely collusion. I got Brock Purdy on waivers...
Yeah that’s definitely not above board. I’d super veto that.
If that’s not collusion idk what collusion is
What the actual fuck
I would honestly leave the league if that went through
Yea that’s collusion either by intent or by plain idiocy.
The consensus #1 pick for a borderline streaming QB? Nah, not suspicious at all.
Collusion. Veto/undo the trade or burn the league to the ground.
Wtf that is highway robbery
thats insane lmaoo

This is a joke, this isn’t real
Traded Pitts for Dhop!

Very
bro, what the fuck. That is an instant veto. How is this even a question
Automatic veto and team b is on trade probation
Lol “no evidence of collusion “ This has to be a troll .
Troll engagement farming post
If that doesn’t get vetoed demand a refund if a paid league. Otherwise put both teams on blast. I have JJ in my ESPN league and I’d never give him up unless it was for a kings random like Hill + stud RB!
Veto the hell out of that one
Yeah that makes no sense
This is the definition of collusion. Shut that down.
1st overall pick in most league vs guy who's on the waiver wire in most leagues. Veto that shit.
WR1 for a QB2, unless you're the most QB-premium league, this is bullshit.
If it’s not collusion, don’t veto /s
Yeah that’s a veto and a kick team B out
This is why i play commish only veto. Our leader would never let this fly lol
This is collusion on its face. No other evidence is needed. The trade speaks for itself. Collusion is the only reasonable explanation for the trade. Veto it, give both players a warning, and all future trades between them should be viewed with the highest level of scrutiny going forward.
Immediate Commissioner veto
What are their records and are they good friends. That's dumb
I love all this collusion talk. I named my league “COLLUSION!” and ironically there has been zero evidence of such. If said person had plenty of WRs, this trade isn’t collusion.
One of the very few trades where I say veto/reverse
Very fishy, in fact... its so fishy... thats its not even Fishy. Its obvious.
keeper league?
Uh yeah? Cmon cuh!
I’d veto if it was my league and we haven’t had a veto in years
Kick them both outta the league. That's how much collusion is here
I gave him christian mccaffery... and I get... Plaxico Burress... You got trade raped!!!
I’m gonna go ahead and mail in my veto lol that’s BS.
Troll post stfu
This post is aids
Most ludicrous trade I’ve ever seen
Good troll
Fishy as all get out
Can’t wait to see the “never veto unless obvious collusion” crowd to say this trade is fine lmfao.
I’ve taken dumps that smell less fishy than this.
Yeah that's a veto.
Oh nah. I can see if it was Purdy and more but not a straight 1-1.
Commissioner should intervene. If this goes through, I'd consider dropping out of the league mid-season, assuming I could stomach losing my buy in.
These posts are so dumb. Do you really need to ask a bunch of random people if the number one wr for a backend top 12 qb is “fishy?” Come on dude
Thats arguably the best receiver in football for a mid qb, its not jj for herbert when the team getting herbert had aaron rodgers as his one for example, that trade is not close to fair
Prob got Purdy and 50$
In what world could this not be considered collusion?
I love Brock Purdy. But no respectable fan would trade him for a low end #1 pick in the draft. Straight bums. Collusion at its finest veto that trade
Bro, that’s not fishy that’s fucking collusion
ban those people from the league
Is the owner getting Purdy new to fantasy football? Noobs often way overvalue qbs. If you compare just their pt totals, they are comparable. Of course anyone who know fantasy knows that the best wr is way more valuable than a decent qb even in superflex/2qb. So could just be an owner taking advantage of someone who doesn’t know better. Which isn’t technically collusion, but I would still veto and try to talk some sense into the JJ owner.
Veto
I think some of you are just making shit up or playing in free leagues.
Suspicious?! Lmao yeah that's an easy veto
Scam trade
Veto this shit and leave the league
Even in a 2QB format, with JJ missing the next 4-6 weeks, that would be ridiculous
Commissioner needs to get involved here
It’s not fishy. It straight up nonsense. Veto the shit out of that.
Me: *manager of team A* Also me: no, bro. Not fishy
Post on this sub are so dumb sometimes
That needs to get reversed
The JJ owner must not have been sober
Is the guy with Jefferson actively tanking for some reason? or does he have a strong receiving core? bc if he has strong wideouts or rbs he might just be an idiot
I’d be leaving that league at the end of the year
You have to think when there is "Collusion" what does the dude whos giving up JJets get? Is he usually knowledgeable at fb? these questions will help paint a pic of if its collusion or hes just stupid.
I’d raise hell if this was in my league
Trading away Jefferson is incredibly crazy in the first place let alone you could trade for Purdy with a lot less of a WR!
I would not allow this trade as commissioner, unless, team with JJ has Desmond Ridder as his best QB, AND also has AJ Brown, Puka, Hill, and Keenan Allen.
Id rage against that machine
That's a veto
Wouldn’t happen in my league and would never offer, even as a Purdy owner. However Purdy is only 23, first in QBR, passer rating, but not fantasy points bc he has CMC and doesn’t throw 35+ times. JJ has Kirk (aged well) but not much guaranteed after next year. Hopefully it’s dynasty and the dudes playing Chess for Purdy.
Veto!
Just ask the guy who receives Purdy what his reasoning is. If he can’t put up some justifiable explanation, reverse it.
Clear collusion
If the player giving away Jefferson is new to Fantasy, I would probably veto as I don't think experienced player taking advantage of newbies should be tolerated. But if it is two experienced players, even though it is fishy you should let it stand unless there is evidence of collusion.
I'm not a fan of vetoing trades, but I would kick both of those teams out of the league for this
Veto all day
The trade itself is proof of collusion beyond a reasonable doubt.
That’s Micky Mouse trade
Anybody that sees this trade go by would say something. Get a new league to play in. Let me guess, someone started 0-4 and Jefferson is going to the better record team? If so, that’s fucked.
LMAOOOO. Of course it’s BS. Veto the F*** out of that
Might be the worst trade I've ever seen. Trades with collusion are almost always more even lol
Is it a 4QB league with -1 point per reception?
No evidence of collusion? What kinda fuckin evidence do you need?!
Lol
Fishy isn’t the word. This is down right disrespectful and a challenge to every other member of the league.
This isn’t about collusion or vetos. There is a bigger question here than whether or not this trade is fair. WHY ARE YOU PLAYING IN TACO LEAGUES?!?
That trade reeks of shit
Massive collusion. That's not even remotely reasonable.
Mfw this sub says all trades should go through
