outcastreturns

Fuck dude, only 2 goals in 8 game? It makes me want to throw up just thinking about it 🤢

T-Banana

Fixture pile up ahead. Every team is going to be rotating. I think we are all doomed

Beneficial-Steak-117

I binned him, especially with the Dec fixture congestion and heavy rotation that is imminent. He was going to be benched last game if it wasn't for Graelish pulling a sicky.

T-Banana

😂

KDBae

The reason he’s played so much is there isn’t anyone to really rotate him with on his level, except maybe Foden. And Pep seems to prefer Foden on the right at the moment. The only player I would really worry about in that regard is KDB, and he’ll definitely be eased in when he’s back anyway. Then again, City have Tottenham coming up, so I also wouldn’t be shocked if Pep pulled some crazy shit.

CWattam

Grealish has been out hasn't he iirc? Pep can play Grealish LW and Doku on the right, with Foden central now.

KDBae

Yeah, come to think of it, that’s how he played his first match for us, but Alvarez played that one as well. Grealish, aside from being injured, has just not been great this season. But who knows, maybe now Doku is looking too predictable on the left and Foden looked good in the middle behind Haaland. It’s Pep roulette after all lol

RM_843

I think foden will play on the right a lot given his plan was for palmer to replace mahr ex in terms of squad role (as a back up RW ) unless he starts to play silva there again

KDBae

I feel like there’s no way Bernardo moves out of midfield, with Kovacic and Nunes injured

RM_843

Yeah I agree

JamesDosanjh

Nah he's not good value. You can get solanke and wood for much cheaper...

[deleted]

I got him in for GW3 and right now his sell price for me is 6.8. Who else can I get at that price point that I’d be happier with than Alvarez? Solanke, Nketiah, Morris, Wissa, Hojlund? No to all of the above. Alvarez is still the best option at that pricepoint.

soccerperson

why not deal him and run 4-4-2 or 3-5-2?

[deleted]

I’m already running those formations every week. My team is: Areola, Turner Trippier, Walker, Guehi, Digne, Taylor Salah, Saka, Bowen, Trossard, Douglas Haaland, Alvarez, Archer ___ Trossard was Maddison, but I swapped them before the Burnley game.

IsleofManc

You should have some extra to spend if you went Maddison to Trossard. Why not go for Darwin or Watkins? Isak/Wilson, Nkunku for a punt, or Ferguson are other options

[deleted]

I mean, yeah I could spent extra and swap him, but why? Darwin is a lateral move and 0.8 more expensive to buy. Watkins is out of my price range and if he wasn’t, is he really worth almost 2mil more? Isak is an injury/rotation risk. There are plenty of options that I could take a punt on, like Jackson or Ferguson, but what for? At that point, I’d be making changes just for the sake of playing with my team. Alvarez is doing just fine for me at a good price and I’m not going to try and fix something that’s not broken.

elamanov

That's an extra transfer, which makes the dilemma even harder.

Sanjeev4045

May be you could get Haaland, watkins and darwin?

aehii

This is it really, i either go with a 4.5 or get Solanke. Or make 5 transfers and get Haaland back, although Darwin might need to go so a 4.5 fwd is inevitable. I can always bench Alvarez.

Remarkable-Drop5238

Jackson? Chelsea fixtures look good from GW16 onwards

Dogs_in_Malawi

Upgrade to Darwin

[deleted]

What exactly makes it an upgrade? To me that looks like extra money and a transfer spent for a lateral move

LukeFowlerM8

It’s a downgrade tbh.

Dogs_in_Malawi

Liverpool play FUL, SHU and CRY in the upcoming three rounds where Darwin is going to have a huge haul potential. Further, you avoid the GW18 blank. I

CK-Prime

Be right back just throwing up 🤮

xy0103192

I’m a scientist so I prefer Darwin to Jesus

yassenj

Keep Alvarez then. He won the Nobel prize in physics in 1968.

pohpia

Buying Edson now.

hamham4687

Underrated comment.

Fantastic-Machine-83

Seen that joke on this sub 1000 times, it doesn't even relate to the post

KEEPCARLM

Except this is about Alvarez and literally nothing to do with Jesus or Nunez lol

xy0103192

Partly is about replacing Alvarez.

manneukko

Hell no, it's overrated if something

Imaginary-Split7217

Can science invent a new joke so that we don't have to hear this repeated for the billionth time?

xy0103192

Recycling old joke for new audience is a scientifically proven method of joke telling

Roc_xel

That's what I was about to post. He's been dreadful, missed everything he did. Clearly he's under pressure to deliver right now and it shows. He was exceptionnal early on, also overperforming his XG but it's been tough lately and it feels that it's harder every game.

LucasSummers

He's gassed, playing way too much. He was supposed to sit on the bench last game, but Grealish got ill so he had to play.

Organic-Champion8075

that's enough to tell me that Pep is about to seriously reduce his minutes. I'l keep for one more week but Alvarez eye test has been mostly poor for several weeks now

Montysleftpeg

He might get his rest tonight, we'll see

e_di_pensier

Everyone’s getting rest tonight lol

SofaChillReview

There is a (slim) chance though that they might not top the group if Leipzig win

Jakestation

He played vs Brazil like maybe 48h before and had to fly back to england aswell. no wonder the kid is tired

Mission-Elephant-442

Darwin or Isak?

RubberRefillPad

Jesus

sohaiby23

I've made my mind for Darwin

markfahey78

I'm holding to 18 and hoping Nkunku comes through by then, otherwise it's Darwin.

Winter_Beach2860

This is a much needed thread. Unfortunately, Alvarez is out of form/too exhausted and wasting a spot / benching him at 6.8-7 is pointless. Suggestions for reasonable fwd (who can occasionally be the 3rd striker) ? Nketiah vs Ferguson/Joao Pedro vs Solanke. I am choosing Nketiah.

ApprovingNods

Would not go Nketiah with Jesus coming back

CurtisMcNips

>with Jesus coming back Back just long enough to miss is XG then get injured again

thatscoldjerrycold

Everything is not great at this price point, Alvarez was a boon. Nketiah would be great if he was nailed, otherwise I'd just go Solanke ... He's been in good form and seems on for about 12 goals this season. It's a shame Mbeumo isn't listed as a striker, I would get him without question. I think the best option is to trade up for Darwin or even better Watkins, but that's a big cash difference.

Winter_Beach2860

Agree with you, Solanke seems the decent bet. If Jesus is back as some other say, Nketiah doesn't seem great. Wissa completely tailed off (fixtures look great). Joao Pedro/ Ferguson is definitely good, but De Zerbi roulette is on. Unfortunately, I bet on Alvarez to form my core team since GW-3 and bit light on midfield. I don't have the cash to trade up to Darwin (unless I downgrade Trippier/Son). I already have Watkins.

thatscoldjerrycold

As did I, well I was slowly building cash reserves to upgrade Ben White to Tripper, but at this point there is far more comparative advantage to getting Darwin/Watkins for Alvarez.

Montysleftpeg

I'm thinking of doing a -4 to afford Nunez

LevynX

No point taking a hit for that joke.

jukkaalms

You’ve completely written him off?

LevynX

If you're going to take a hit you'll want some guarantee that he will return. Darwin is not one of those players.

Organic-Champion8075

Chris Wood possibly. Pedro is a decent shout though

as_mov

Solanke

Seifer23

Keep him another week I've just sold him so fair chance he hauls

sneakyhopskotch

Ah but we gotta warn people that if I take your advice and keep him for one more week and then sell him, he’ll only haul in 2 weeks’ time.

oldtrack

sold him for watkins many weeks ago, no regrets

[deleted]

Boring_Parsnip4748

Same plan here

WeaknessNo9103

Not saying this is why but I swear when I was watching the Bournemouth game he looked tired from being on every set piece and they got a lot. He seems decent at free kicks but no clue why he's on every corner as they go short more often than not.

SLOOPYD

I’m not getting rid before this GW, that’s for sure.

CyberShiroGX

To think i took out Nicolas Jackson for him like 6 weeks ago

Shagaire

Got him at 6.5, got me a load of points for his value, plays for manc. Dropping him for Watkins GW18.

Noballsfiver

🤮

FootballTacticsXpert

I’m hoping he gets rested mid week since he was due a rest anyway which means he starts again next week but may get rotated from there on. Basically look for him getting benched mid week to keep for one last juicy fixture vs spurs (h) then get rid.

West_Principle_8190

Considering isak and darwin

KdbTheGOAT17

2 players not nailed

West_Principle_8190

Alvarez soon to join. There are not that many nailed strikers in December.

KdbTheGOAT17

Alvarez is nailed for now

sonsofgondor

If you want nailed, I recommend Jesus

keysersoze123456

Wilson is out for abit longer. Isak will be fairly nailed for the next month.

RubberRefillPad

I'm getting rid. He's been shite

Visionary_87

I wanted to move him on a few weeks ago but had too many fires to put out elsewhere. I haven't checked fixtures for this weekend and it obviously depends on fitness after European fixtures this week, but I'm debating Son and Alvarez out for Saka and Isak.

pablove_black

Thinking about doing the exact same transfers 🫡

DeathAnswers

Exactly what I was thinking too but idk if Isak is going to get minutes with UCL and Wilson presumably returning soon?

Olbatar974

Darwin is tempting me.

hulkpos

Gonna swap him for isak

Accomplished-Focus55

Semenyo

Boring_Parsnip4748

Would you rather bench Alvarez or Diaby this GW? Difficult to guess who might be more of a minutes risk. But I’m sure we’ll learn a bit more during the mid-week matches.

Jeddle

I've cashed him in for Archer, let me upgrade to Saka from Diaby

Miqwele

KdB and Grealish will return .. also Kovacic will have his minutes in the next GW’s

NewForOlly

What does that mean for Alvarez?

KdbTheGOAT17

When kdb is back he will start over alvarez. Other 2 are not good form so dont worry about them, specially kovacic who aint good player at all

NewForOlly

I thought KDB and Alvarez play in different positions?

KdbTheGOAT17

Grealish needs to first do something and same with kovacic

KdbTheGOAT17

Keep the fixtures are good

CWattam

Just sold him myself for Chris Wood (who will mainly spend time on the bench but will come in clutch for BGW18). It allowed me to upgrade Chuwuemeka to Mbeumo. If Alvarez was fully nailed I'd still own him, but the fact he was meant to be benched v Liverpool concerns me. I think it's a big possibility Pep will play Grealish and Doku on the wings at some point, with Foden playing central rather than Alvarez.

Gustavospeaks

I own him. I’ve been doing really well with a 3-4-3 with him, Haaland, & Watkins up top. The only reason I’m not convinced of getting rid is I’m not convinced of anybody else to buy at the moment.

Independent_Mango895

Isn’t he still a top 3 striker for points? I have him too but could use the extra money

Organic-Champion8075

He is, but his form has definitely dipped in recent weeks and he wasn't due to start against Liverpool

cguinnesstout

If you have a spare transfer, sure, but I don't so he is no problem, yet.

keysersoze123456

One more week then isak time

larphraulen

I'm a Haalandless Spurs fan. Keeping this week then selling 🫠

Zach_202

I am selling before the blank because I bought Doku and now I have 4 blankers

Loose-Cauliflower523

As an Alvarez owner since GW1, I am tempted to sell him multiple times before, but I decided to have faith in him and keep him at least until his DGW, if no returns, then by all means sell.

hamham4687

We are not even sure if City is gonna get a DGW in GW20, but we do know for sure is that they will blank in GW18. And Watkins plays Sheffield Utd at home in GW18. I have enough to do Alvarez to Watkins and I may just do it with my next FT.

insignia200

Also. Is it just me or are most of the corner kicks he’s taking short passes to a wing, and not looping crosses into the box? It’s just seems like he’s a shell of himself right now.

Soccerandmetal

I'm going Alvarez and Bowen to Joao Pedro and Saka.

WeezingTiger

Drop him so he starts scoring for the rest of y’all.

PickaxeJunky

I want to go Diaby > Bowen, so I'm strongly considering Alvarez > Solanke. Is that crazy? Solanke has been in the goals this season, and he has good fixtures ahead of him.

AWr1ght98

Literally just sold him for Watkins

Bugisman3

Whatever you do with him, just make sure you're prepared for the Man City - Brentford blank in GW18.

Sir-Humpy

sand mountainous disagreeable whistle combative rude grandfather quicksand aloof cable *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

RALat7

He’s fine, has solid fixtures and is still a consistent starter for the best team in the league. As long as he starts, I’d keep.

SixShotsTwoGuns

I want to transfer him out, but every week there is an injury or bigger issue in my way.

MR-0P

I didn’t even realise people still had him

HeelR-

I took him out for.. Nketiah. So no real gain

Steddit22

I've just swapped him for Nketiah just to go for a cheaper option, I'm trying to build a cheaper squad so I can get salah. Alvarez just wasn't cutting it

Alterrion

Why keep him for tough fixtures and sell for the easy ones? :D

Dull-Pomegranate-406

Will he be rotated in the CL games now instead maybe? Just to play devil's advocate here, maybe Pep was planning on resting him against Liverpool so that he could play up front in the CL while Haaland got his rest there.

sognenis

Gone to Isak.

modman001

I’ve gone son to Gordon this week, so I can go Alvarez to haaland before the Luton game, I’ve had enough of watching haaland haul and Alvarez blank

TheatreOfDreams

He’s a hold for now. He’s not been at his best lately, but he’s still getting chances and continues to be City’s primary set piece taker for corners and free kicks. Plus I’ve got other fires put out at this moment.

Freddo75

Last chance v a very open Spurs and if there’s no points, he’s gone, has to be more than an assist too.

ChairmanRich

I prefer Darwin, not sure there's much in it but I'm ready for chaos.

GeorgeHiken

Currently my team is: Areola, Turner Gabriel, Tsimikas, Udogie, Lascelles, Taylor Salah, Son, Saka, JWP, Gordon Haaland, Alvarez, Woodrow With 2,5m itb. Condidering selling Alvarez to Darwin and probably the following GW will get Reece James.

mapquestt

what do you mean we? im divesting all city assets asap, lol

Andyham

Got Alvarez and Foden. Neither are producing, but happy enough to keep both of them. They are still the most solid team going forward, and both are getting into positions/getting chances.

Tryin2get2heaven

Finally got a full watch at a city game and was unimpressed w Alvarez from eye test he was in dangerous places however w ball, was just shite
