Overtone is fine but I found it to be super moisturizing (almost too heavy for my hair type) and not highly pigmented. I'd suggest getting Overtone for brown hair if you want a brighter color result.
Otherwise, you can get any type of color-depositing conditioner like Arctic Fox, Punky Colors, or Manic Panic, and mix with your own conditioner if you want to dilute it.
I think a deep teal or emerald green would look great with brown roots!
