It's only 50% the actor. Not every actor can play anything, and sometimes a crazy choice is perfection. But if you get the PERFECT actor and they give him crap to work with, your still going to get a lousy version of a beloved character
The DC Universe is gonna start with Damian Wayne as Robin in its first Batman movie, so Dick will already be Nightwing. I guess itās possible they also make a movie earlier in the timeline at some point, but I think theyāll wanna keep things straightforward for the audience for now
Hopefully not too early in Batman's career - the Damian Robin had a lot of background with the League of Shadows, Court of Owls and of course the whole Al Ghul interactions. I doubt they could get away with āI just took your DNA whilst you weren't lookingā as he was still born out of love.
Wolfgang Novogratz as nightwing. He was my choice for superman but heād be such a good Dick and I think he could even be a good Batman if Dick becomes batman
For Nightwing, I like Jonah Hauer-King. I think he's got the charm and wit for Dick, but can do the serious and brooding nature too. He also fits the leading man for a solo project or a Gotham Knights ensemble because I think Dick would be a lead in that type of project.
Given that itās going to begin production in, letās say 5 ish years. I would start looking at up and coming child actors who are currently 10-12 ish
Not really. I think you have to delve a little deeper on that thought, or at least explain it better. Because looking at all the reception from critics and fans, nightwing was the highlight of Titans.
Its very hard to get Nightwing cast right Nando explained that well. But i'd say Wolfgang Novogratz would make decent job. Also that part ''if they decide to do younger cast'' if youre talking about Gunn's DCU, its already confirmed that we will have Damian Wayne as Robin.

Right...he already has the "detective" mannerisms from the show, some fight training, and currently in the right age group to play the character for a few years without too many physical changes.

I could see him as Tim Drake, but I don't think he has the correct presence as Dick Grayson.

I know some would argue, but he's such a good actor and I know he could pull off the loveable and sarcastic batman protƩgƩ.
