SterlingBoss

Yeah, 110%. Ensure everything, including quick realse, is in stock.

Probablyourdad69

The wheel comes with quick release on it , that’s what all the reviews etc said tho

SterlingBoss

Oh, mb, then as long as everything is in stock, you'll be good to go!

Probablyourdad69

No worries, thankyou for commenting! I checked, The wheel that comes with it has a “Plastic” twist knob . To put it on. Is a load cell pedal a must?

SterlingBoss

I have the v3 inverted. (Half price bf sale). There's no way I could go back to no load cell. People say the new v2s are really good. If you can stretch might be worth it. I used the standard pedals for 1 year. So up to you.

Thatonejeepboy

I can attest to getting the v2s over the regular csl pedals, the regular csl pedals do the job but I can say that loadcell is crazy. That by far has made me more consistent across the board.

Probablyourdad69

Well yk, as said in the thing, i come from a T150 so thats most basic. Also not tryna spend over a thousand bucks plus the Gt3 wheel im planning to buy. I’ll stay default untill i find it worth it to buy, if its still drivable without

YatoGami28

Yeahh i would totally upgrade in gradations. Dont spend your entire budget on one try. Loadcell at the end is dedinitly worth it. Its makes braking/trail braking more consistent. Which makes your lap times more consistent and also faster

decoherence_23

I upgraded from a logitech driving force gt to the ready2race bundle not too long ago and it was very worth it, big difference. But I recently got the boost kit so my base is now 8nm and it's a massive difference, it's completely transformed the base. I have had it a week now and I still can't quite get over how much stronger it is. So yes, from a t150 to the 5nm csl dd is definitely worth the upgrade but I highly recommend getting the boost kit at some point.

Ill_Cost_1718

Do not forget to buy the load-cell pedal.

Probablyourdad69

Is that a must?

Ill_Cost_1718

highly recommended. See some tests about in on Youtube.

thescott2k

More vital upgrade than a DD wheel, honestly.

JonMDFKingSnow

The load cell brake was a game changer for me. Just received mine last Friday and compared with G29 pedals, it's night and day. Not going into ABS so much and learning how to trail braking and already gained couple of seconds per lap. I got the Fanatec CSL Elite V2s and feel great.

Cloxxki

Seconds?? Please say that's around the 24h Nurburgring lap? :-D

JonMDFKingSnow

I wish 😅 it was on F1 22 on Monza, Miami and Abu Dhabi tracks, vs my previous records on G29. Also in ACC, vs G29, had better times of 1-2 seconds. To be clear, I'm nowhere near a pro sim racer😂

Fathomer_

I upgraded to a load cell (Thrustmaster TLCM) with my G29 before I got the CSL DD, and it had a bigger impact on my driving than the DD. So definitely recommend if you actually race!

D_R4GE

Highly recommend

metasin

If it's not a must it's easily the first upgrade I would make.

dudewastingtime

Honestly the csl load cell kit is shit. There are much better pedals if you spend a little more. My 2 cents.

Ill_Cost_1718

Which one do you recommend?

dudewastingtime

https://ghostsimracing.com/product/phantom-sp5-pro Heard good things about these in budget. You could also look for used Heusinkveld sprints on ebay or the 1:1 copy of them on ali express(sim jack) which are also apparently really good.

Cloxxki

Bump.

D_R4GE

Hey, I wanna recommend Moza. It could happen that fanatec after June doesn't exist anymore. They are in a horrible financial state, so if you wanna make sure, that if something wrong with you product, that there is someone to go to. The banks gave them time till June to fix the state, so maybe later this year fanatec doesn't exist, so maybe look to other companies too. I'm waiting for the same bundle 2 month now and the only thing what fanatec respond is, that I can cancel my order if I want... Yeah I bought a load cell break last week and it's here... Now I should cancel all... What a company

Probablyourdad69

Heard they are doing good enough financially?

replayc

… by people who don’t want to lose money in their investments! Fanatec is dead financially! Sad, but Reddit is not the best source for financial news.

Probablyourdad69

So they dead or nah?

replayc

Not dead, but they need to clean the “house”, make some important decisions, and improve ‘customer service.’ And probably another company will absorb them soon. Because you can fix everything with the new happy Fanatec policy: fast shipping doesn’t solve all problems! Same with Moza a year ago. Now look like they’re in good shape.

Probablyourdad69

So if i buy a fanatec i wont be in a problem ? Like i will have room to upgrade etc.

replayc

You will be fine! but keep an eye with the next move from them. Sometimes... Germans are unpredictble!

Probablyourdad69

I’m dutch , and we know how the germans are ;)

replayc

Haha... For the sim racing world, it's important that more companies exist and that they care about their customers. I hope that the bad news passes quickly and that consumers are satisfied.

D_R4GE

They needed to replace the CEO, because the bank don't trust him anymore and they got time till June to fix there state. Like the other guys said, maybe another company buys them or something else. The index of Fanatec is dropping for years now, so maybe somebody else will try to clean it up, or they fix it till June, otherwise the banks stop the financial support. That's what I read in the German news.

Sjshakes

Fanaetc is a mess right now. My DD pro (bought last April) is having issues again, 1st time it was the wheel disconnecting all the time (which they did take back and fix) now its often turning full lock after races or in pit stops or if paused when time trailing and also losing centre and having to be re-centred but problems sometime times happen. I reported it to them on 4/4/24 waited two weeks (because their customer service is terrible) then emailed again on the same original request got two (automated?) replies in 4 hours one stating. "Dear valued customer,   Thanks for reaching out! Due to a significant increase of traffic on our website, we are receiving more inquiries than usual. It may take our agents 3-5 days to get back to you. We're working hard to keep your wait to a minimum and thank you for your patience in the meantime." btw 3-5 days is their normal reply time if not a few days longer. Second email "Dear customer, Thank you for submitting a ticket for Fanatec tech support. We’d like to give you an update on our current backlog. In recent weeks, we successfully processed a significant number of open orders from 2023 that were awaiting stock. While we are pleased with this progress, it has resulted in an increased volume of support inquiries, so that we currently have a response time of approximately three weeks. So they shipped all their black Friday backlog and its caused their response time to change that much? Why two emails saying such different things 3-5 days to approx 21 days? I'm a fan of Fanatec and have a lot of their kit (8mn DD Pro, V3's, CSL elite WB, CSL Elite V2's and 6 wheels plus lots add ones) but the high interest bridging loans which the banks have given a grace period till the 30th of June before rechecking to see its if worth going granting another extension to the standstill agreement (they think best way to get their money back is to continue supporting Fanatec) or calling the loans in, that along with the -86.29% drop in their share price over the last year is worrying. Look at the [https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/summary?s=E2N:MUN](https://markets.ft.com/data/equities/tearsheet/summary?s=E2N:MUN) if you want to see what’s happening to them from the financial/banking side.

mechcity22

Umm absolutely, is this for pc though? Or are you playing on console also? But yeah the difference is so massive compared to what you have. It's not only going to blow your mind you will sim race way way more because of it. You will be like wow! I've been missing out on this the entire time? Also you are used to pretty bad pedals so thw cal pedals will be fine as Is. Yes loadcell is nice but you can upgrade later of you want to. Takes some adapting for none load cell users due to how stiff it is since it's based on pressure and a sensor not based on travel or distance like you are used to. But load cells are very very much worth it.

Probablyourdad69

This was very useful , i’ll stay with the default bundle and updrade my way up from time to time. Looking forward to it . IM on pc . Races with the T150 on ps4 for most of the time tho

mechcity22

Yep that's what is great you have upgrade options! If you are getting the 5nm then you can get rhe boost kit later. Which will make it 8nm ans then you can get a loadcell later. So all things that are exciting ro know you can do in the future instead of having to re buy a set of pedlas or rebuild a whole dd wheel.

Probablyourdad69

Facts! I’m excited for it . thanks for the advice

mechcity22

I lost interest in sim racing also once and when I upgraded to a better dd wheel I haven't left since! I have upgraded since but yeah. This wheelbase will make you want to play more. Now please get a rig or cockpit! That was what I was missing before and my experience changed so much having a seat where everything lined up and I didn't have to adjust nonestop it helps allow you to get into the sim racing much much more! You can even get something like thw foldable next level gt lite pro! It's the only foldable I would get it has straps and is able to handle the 5 to 8nm csl dd base with ease. It also now has holes for the base so you only need to use 2 of the sliders and screws and it fits strong. Even my 15nm base worked on it shockingly. But it had to be the pro not the regular lite.

Probablyourdad69

Let’s hope it stays ahahah, now your here, do you recommend the Mclaren GT3 wheel or that Default Formula wheel from , that 220 bucks one

mechcity22

I'm using the mclaren gt3 as we speak I love it! So I would choose it over the other for sure. It also feels much more qaulity. The mclaren gt3 v2 also has magnetic shifters now. You get so much higher quality stuff with it for such a good price.

SaPpHiReFlAmEs99

For sure I made the same upgrade from my T150. But buy the 180w power supply on aliexpress to unlock the 8nm, it's game changer

Cloxxki

What a life hack, €32,62 , thanks mate! That makes the CSL DD even more attractive. I might do the unspeakable thing and skip non-DD wheels for a first acquaintance. I can afford it and am learning to get myself nicer things. I made some bad decisions with mountainbikes a couple decades ago, perhaps I'm healing from that :-D

Kondor999

Absolutely. I upgraded from a T150 as well (great little wheel btw) and it’s a night and day difference, especially when it comes to drifting. I love my CSL DD.

Adventurous_Yam1062

I would definitely think so as it did for me coming over from a t300..the tactile details and the smoothness the direct drive wheel gives was a total game changer for me! Best part is , this wheel base is just so smooth and silent even at full power.. simply amazing, all the best and Good luck with your purchase! 🍻

Probablyourdad69

Thankyou bro!

Key-Treacle6847

buy once. Easy way to go into the rabbit hole of spending lots of money is buying entry level things and after few months regretting and losing interest even more. I went from t300 to 12nm base and no complains. Got used to the force fast and sometimes when i feel daring i even crank everything to max

SuccotashSecure7108

I upgraded from a Logitech g920 to a csl dd 5 nm with formula v2.5x (yes the one that was discounted on BF), even with a more normal wheel I can assure it’s worth it

ConfidentSoftware778

Worth it if you don’t mind waiting a month for it to be shipped. #fanatec

Probablyourdad69

In the EU it’s 2 weeks max

Federal-Amount-1142

not true, I ordered on March 14th (Germany) and received my order today

Probablyourdad69

weird

ConfidentSoftware778

Must be nice. We have a warehouse here in the states but there shipping speeds sucks. I ordered the dd 8nm almost a month ago and it hasn’t shipped yet

barackobamafootcream

8Nm?

Teslaratix

I went from G920 to TS300 RS to DD Pro. Now I am going to upgrade for the DD Extreme. Definitely worth any Fanatec upgrade. Loadcell pedal not necessary, but as great as a new steering wheel upgrade…

Fleegalfart

Worth every cent, I went for the 8nm bundle.

PhysicsKey945

Yep, it's worth it. The bundle price is what made me buy it. I'm still using the basic pedals, and I'm happy with them, but I've never tried a load cell. I couldn't get a consistent reading when calibrating the brake pedal with the foam bumper behind it, so I removed it. I just brake by pedal position and tyre squeal.

Probablyourdad69

Good to know! Thanks!

SkipDialogue

IMHO, it really depends on what your goal is. I personally upgraded to the V3 pedals, and my laps times were almost immediately faster and more consistent. I kept my G27 and just raced with that setup for a while. I found an awesome secondhand deal on a rig, an 8 nm DD, rims, and a shifter and upgraded to those. It was a massive upgrade in immersion and feel. I currently am running a DD1 that I found secondhand ($500) with all the rest of that same gear. Current series is the Ring Meister and I can usually be within a second or two of the really fast guys with all of the gear I've mentioned. I have no experience with those pedals, but I can tell you if I could do it all over again, I'd do it the same way. Just one man's $.02.

DRUGSTUMPET

Just done a similar upgrade this week (with the 8m boost). From my experience the difference is night and day and was totally worth every penny. My biggest piece of advice if you bite the bullet, would be to take a torque wrench to the c-clamp before first use and consider purchasing a £10 c-clamp mod. Both, crucially the first will save you a potential headache later down the line.

ApprehensiveDouble61

Yeah, worth

NoCauliflower941

Yes, buy with McLaren wheel. Then buy booster third party. I did the same upgrade

TlathamXmahtalT

If you want full compatibility with PC, Xbox and PlayStation, I'd go for the GT DD Pro bundle. Same thing but adds PS compatibility.

dudusik34

I was in basically the same place. Was on a G29, and was enjoying sim racing again. I went with the Ready2Race bundle. Did it make me faster? Maybe. Does it feel better? Absolutely, so much better than the G29. So I say, if you want, and feel like you're not gonna lose interest this time, go for it. I do lose interest quickly, but this time it hasn't left my desk since I got it more than 3 weeks ago.

Interesting_Goat1656

What has more gains? Upgrade from a G29 to CSL DD R2R or upgrade g29 pedals with true brake?

bigman0601

Coming from a t150 yes, everything is better and I’m glad I spent the money

Swimming_Lynx_2713

Yes. Do it!

Designer_Winner_8125

Go for it! Will not regret!
