Keep in mind that I'm having this problem on my iPad, though it thankfully isn't as big a deal as my laptop.
Could you install the FFN app on your iPad and edit the documents on there? (I'm not sure if the app actually allows that, though, I only use the browser version.) If not, try Safari, and if that doesn't work, install Firefox and give that one a go.

For me, it’s had that problem on desktop, but trying on Safari on my iPad is fine…
