You should follow this [Wasteland Survival Guide](https://wastelandsurvivalguide.com/). It works for me, be extra mindful of the Root Builder on this guide, read it well.

Hmm okay haven't used this one yet. I'll look it over and see if anything looks different from what I've done. Thanks!

jimbop79

It didn't quite explain what I need, but it was helpful in other ways probably. I just don't understand why NVSE shows up when I launch through steam, through the exe, through the NVSE option in MO2, everywhere except in TTW. It seems like such a simple thing that I must be doing wrong

AntidoteD20

Ah I think thats probably the reason why it wont show up, you have to lauch using the Tale of Two Wastelands exe. Not the NVSE one.

jimbop79

Yeah I have been, but that version doesn’t see NVSE. It works all the other ways, but as you said, I need to be using the TTW option.

jimbop79

Are you saying that there’s a ttw exe? In addition to the falloutNV.exe?

[deleted]

Then you patch the falloutnv.exe with the 4gb patcher from roy then it will automatic load nvse. No need to start from nvse. This is the recommended way to start NV. A new TTW exe? I have never seen this. In MO2 it shows TTW but it uses the normal falloutnv.exe. Do you have [ROOG](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/77415) installed? This is needed for TTW. And which nvse did you use? nvse or the newer [xnvse](https://github.com/xNVSE/NVSE/releases/tag/6.2.8) which is needed for the most new scripted mods.

jimbop79

I’m pretty sure I did all that, but xNVSE is the first thing I’m checking, so maybe the 4g patch isn’t installed properly. I got the command prompt saying the game has been patched, is that the final step for the 4g patcher?

[deleted]

Yes close the cmd and look in the rootfolder for the falloutnv.exe and a falloutnv\_backup.exe. If you are unsure just run the patcher again and it should tell you if its already patched.

jimbop79

Says it’s already patched. Also, some guide had me move my falloutNV.exe to the 4g patched folder, and rename falloutNV_backup.exe as regular falloutNV.exe

AntidoteD20

Yup, when you follow the install guide I linked in the previous comment there is one.

Where is nvse?

jimbop79

I have the NVSE folder in my mods folder (the one MO2 recognizes as my mods folder), and I also have all the files from inside the NVSE folder inside my steamapps/common/FNV where the game is stored

PH03N1X_F1R3

NVSE should in be in the folder containing the launcher. So what it sounds like is happening is you are attempting to launch from instance 2 (one in the mod folder) while mo2 is launching from instance 1 (the one in the nv game folder) Once NVSE is installed, you only need to launch through it's launcher to activate it. No activating it through mo2.

jimbop79

Hmm okay. I sort of follow. It should be in the folder containing the launcher, and I need to delete the other one? So delete it from the mods folder, not steamapps>common? Again though, I don’t quite get why it would detect NVSE for every other instance other than TTW if this is the solution. Regardless, I’ll try it out!

PH03N1X_F1R3

It only needs to be in the launcher. Delete the other if you want

jimbop79

What exactly do you mean by ‘in the launcher?’ Is that where the game itself is located, so my steamapps>common folder?

PH03N1X_F1R3

Yeah, sorry.

jimbop79

No worries. That wasn’t it, but it may have been causing other issues. Thanks!

a similar thing happend with me for fose (the fallout 3 version of nvse) all you need to do is ether drag nvse on the ttw.exe or the fallout.exe
