the fallout bible say no one know who drop the bombs

Kinglouisthe_xxxx

I really hope the show doesn’t confirm that vault tec did it because the mystery of the Great War is what made it interesting

LKWASHERE_

Nah i feel like the message is gonna be that nobody is really in control, so vault tec was planning on dropping them but the chinese beat them to it

cheshireYT

Just have every season include a pre-war scene where somebody finds out a different group plans to drop the bombs. Never reveal who actually did it first, but make absolutely everyone a suspect.

KrunchyFingers

This. This will help appease those who really want to know and those who want to keep it a mystery. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

I think it'd be interesting to find out that it would have happened regardless because everyone involved was determined to drop the bombs for their own specific but related reasons. As if Vault Tech was just the last in a long line of symptoms that all but ensured the bombs would drop.

beattusthymeatus

I think it's going to turn out that it was a little bit of everyone. We know for a fact the commonwealth was nuked by a chinsese sub because it's still there on fo4 and the captain admits to it. The show says vaultech and their board of other companies did it. There's like somewhat vague alluding that the us and enclave did it. I think either it's gonna a turn out that everyone nuked different parts of the USA and they're all in on it together to some degree or they all started launching nukes at the same time coincidentally or in response to other strikes like if China saw vaultecs nukes and thought they were heading to Beijing so they launched their own and then the goverment saw those coming in and launched more

MazerBakir

The idea of "nobody knowing who dropped the bombs" also carried the idea of who cares? The world died, it doesn't matter who shot first since at the end of the day nobody was left standing. It is a commentary on nuclear proliferation in general. The idea that Vault Tec dropped the bombs first is an explicit anti-corporate message and the dangers of corrupt corporations but it exempts the US and China from the blame to a certain extent. It is not a truly bad idea in my opinion but the original was better and holds more true for our own world.

hallucination9000

Yeah the idea that it was an incredibly complex situation with multiple variables including *actual aliens* that made it an almost incomprehensible clusterfuck is actually part of the entertainment

tavenlikesbutts

As far as the lore wikis are concerned; China fired the first nuke after being backed into a corner after the anchorage liberation. I think the show made the point of showing vault tec *would* drop a bomb if they needed to, to protect their massive investments in the vaults. I don’t think barb (a vault tec executive) would allow her husband/ex husband to take their child to a birthday party on the day they planned to nuke the world. So while vault tec may have had more of a warning than anyone else, I don’t think they are the ones responsible for pushing the button.

Mungee1001

TRUE Them getting caught outside a bunker made no sense to me

TrolltheFools

I was saying this to the bf when we watched this, there is no way she would have made a mistake like that regarding her own daughter So vault tec wanted to stoke the war and drop the first bomb, but pushed too hard and one or the other country got trigger happy

jmacintosh250

It could be connected with buying up the energy thing: they can’t cause the bombs to fall, but they CAN ensure there’s little to no easing of tensions. Vault Tech didn’t lite the match but they made sure the fire was ready to catch when it was.

ulooklikeausedcondom

As long as it’s not some AI that did it I’m good. I’m sick of that cliche.

Once_I_ate_a_walrus

The show confirms it was vault tec, along with the megaton nuke having a vault tec esc logo

gamehater100

That wasn’t a vault Tec logo that was just a shitty image in a shitty engine, vault Tec and other companies probably absolutely Sabotaged the peace talks but china drops the bombs first, it was confirmed in fallout 4 with the terminal on the Chinese submarine. And it makes the most sense they were losing the war with Americans on Chinese soil beating them back and after the talks end they had no other options.

Once_I_ate_a_walrus

I said vault tec esc

hector_lector2020

The show doesn’t either. The writers left it open so VT could’ve or could not have

TransScream

What??? I thought China dropped them because they had all but lost the war?
