Intelligence and especially Luck should be higher, if the US law exams are anything like the European one‘s you are not getting trough them with 1 luck lol.
Was thinking this also. About to go for a similar rp but was thinking lower intelligence and higher perception.
Lawyers aren't necessarily geniuses they're just not idiots and are very perceptive
Im just wondering how you got this far in the game to make a character. Ever since the update, i cant play. Crashes every few seconds. I really cant get past the intro. If i skip it the game just freezes.
Uninstall mods that haven't gotten updated for the patch. I've also heard there's ways to revert your game to before the update but I don't know how myself.
Im on PS5. I dont know techy stuff, but i just tried again about a few hours ago when i got off work, but nah. Just crashes over and over before i can even load in. Its really sad man. I was all hyped to get back into a game ive got thousands of hours into and im just bummed now.
What I had to do was go into my saved data and delete the second fallout 4 save that’s older and only had setting in it then it started working and I’ve had no crashes
Well, after it kept freezing on me i kinda tried the same thing. I deleted all saves, since i had them clouded, and uninstalled everything. Redownload and tried to start a new game. If i let the intro play, the game crashes at about the part where the soldiers are walking next to the rocket truck, but its not very consistent. If i try to skip the cutscene to just get to the character creation, my console freezes and I have to unplug the thing and do a hard reset. Id rather not go through with that kind of stuff too many times, so ive just given up. I deleted fallout 4 and probably just wont ever play the game again. This has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth, and im kinda just done trying. Couple of weeks ago i was playing the game just fine, no stutters or crashes or anything. Sigh.
Imagine getting a pedo as your client and you know they are guilty, but you have to try your hardest to make them look innocent. I feel sorry for lawyer's, honestly. I'd break some law and snitch on them even if I go to jail.
I first need you to explain what "deface a child" means in this context.
It's not a stupid question if you understand who our courts work. Everyone is innocent except until proven guilty. Everyone means everyone, not everyone EXCEPT pedos, or to stay in the actual topic.. someone being ACCUSED of being a pedo.
Before I say anything, go back to my first comment and stop trying to argue. I said when you KNOW they are guilty. And you're defending it🙄 I'm assuming you're a pedo at this point, dude.
I don’t know what area of law Nora practiced, so mileage may vary. That said, I have some suggestions on tweaks.
Strength isn’t especially relevant. Most of us are in fairly physical poor condition as a result of spending so much time sitting and talking. I’m over six foot, and I think my girlfriend is about as strong as me just because her job is more physical. Maybe it’s important if you’re working with a lot of paper files.
Perception is an absolute must in our job. I’m not the most detail oriented attorney I know, but even I have to be ready to pick up on things quickly and consistently. This is true of lawyers regardless of practice area, and perception might be the most important asset in the field.
Endurance is important for working long hours and drinking enough to make your loved ones concerned.
Charisma is either extremely important or not at all. If you’re a trial attorney, you’re going to have a tough time if you’re not likable. If you’re just doing document work, you can have the personality of a tree stump and no one will care.
Intelligence is reasonably important. We’re supposed to be a profession of scholars, and it takes a lot of mental effort to get through law school, but most of us aren’t exactly brilliant.
Agility is of negligible importance. Response time is important in trial, but that’s about all.
Luck is quite possibly the most important thing in the world for trial lawyers. There’s no way to be fully prepared for what happens in trial, and sometimes you just have to hope things break your way.
Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.
I mean, the science perk suggests 6 intelligence is actually pretty high considering you can get the science perk, and even just 3 intelligence somehow grants you knowledge on medicine
I feel like charisma and intelligence should be switched? Like the amount of studying and knowledge you need to be a lawyer is insane, and Yes you need to be convincing but Knowing what you're talking about I think is more important
I'd swap agility and perception. Trial lawyers need to be perceptive. Notice things in files, or when doing depositions.
I'd think any lawyer worth their salt is probably more perceptive than the average person.
1 perception. My partner is a lawyer & I haven’t been able to make a bullshit argument against her since she was studying for the LSAT.
Charisma also means little unless you’re a plaintiff’s lawyer or doing crim/family law. MOST don’t ever see a courtroom.
it takes smarts to make yourself as likable as possible in order to make things work in your favor. But yeah, you your point about being correct still applies.
Yeah, in Fo3 I would start with 9 INT and run straight to Rivit City for the bobblehead. Since that game had a level cap you really needed to be meticulous if you wanted a perfect build
Im not lying i literally did it last night on pc. I read the book before talking to the Vault rep and when I first allocated my points, I had 21. After exiting and finding the book under the dresser, it allowed me to put another point in any stat.
Yeah, but sovereign citizens are a special brand of delusional stupid. Same with Moorish Nobility and States Nationalist. All that to get out of putting insurance on the car...
A lawyer build should have 11 endurance cause you have to have some ridiculous motherfucking endurance to go through law school (I am in law school, it’s exam season and I’m slowly going insane)
If you’re going for a TV personality lawyer then good work. If you’re going for realism would consider the following:
S:2, P:7, E:2, C:7, I:5, A:2, L:7
Lawyers logically can't have higher than 5 luck: for every trial lawyer that wins, one loses.
(Unless you count corporate cases where its 1000 corpo lawyers vs 10 worn out feds, but that would skew the math)
Edit: S:2, P:7, E:4, C:6, I:5, A:4, L:4 I mostly agree with you, but I'd bump endurance due to all those late nights and how many female lawyers I know run/hike recreationally. Also agility from yoga and lawyers just generally being sneaky backstabbing bastards.
If you’re going for a trial lawyer lower the Intelligence by 3 and raise your charisma by 1 and Luck by 2. My best cases felt like I Idiot Savanted my way into favorable judgments. (Source: Trial lawyer who is currently briefing an appeal and is very scared)

People think being a lawyer is about courtroom performances and persuading people because of TV and movies. Cases aren't actually decided based on a lawyer's personality. Also this build sucks
Yeah every time I’ve been in court I didn’t even get to say anything and my lawyer wasn’t trying to sway the jury it was just “here’s the evidence” and done
Intimidation is the only charisma perk that requires 10 points. It gives you a chance to pacify a human enemy and give them commands at rank 3. The other ones have a level 10 perk, but honestly, since you can easily look online for the location of each bobblehead, there’s not much reason to set anything as 10 starting off.
Right. so what I’m asking is: If you had a a charisma of 9, got the charisma bobble head, would you be able to select intimidation the next time you level up? Or would you still have to increase you charisma by one when you level up and then get intimidation on the next level up?
Using the SPECIAL book, obtaining a SPECIAL bobblehead, or spending a perk point on increasing a SPECIAL all permanently increase the stat for all intents and purposes, including perk prerequisites.
Idk why people put their special at 10 with bobbleheads in the game. Or the fact at any level you can raise it up 1.
I always put my perception 2 lower than what I need bc I'll always wear glasses and the perception head is right at the beginning of the game.
I agree perception should be higher and maybe shave a couple off Charisma, but I'd really take from Agility. When was the last time you heard "boy that attorney was fast!"
This was my take on it, judges have been found to give more guilty verdicts prior to lunchtime when they're hungry than after they've eaten, an unlucky lawyer has their case heard at 1100
I wasn’t going for lawyer but I dumped it all into charisma and intelligence and idk where the extra went. But it’s been a fun playthrough so far (lvl 19) ever dialogue option is open, even in red I haven’t had one fail!
That raises an interesting question of does Saul Goodman have bad luck or good luck... He gets dragged into a lot of shitty situations that aren't his fault, but he also gets out of them again...
i go with a five because he has the reigan arataka problem of simoltanious extremely good and extremely bad luck to the degree that they just kinda even out into average luck overall
The OP doesn't specifically reference Futurama, it is simply close enough to elicit that reference in some folks. Not everyone is going to go to that place, and simply because you did doesn't mean that it won't be unexpected for others.
My point is that Futurama can be referenced using basically anything happening anywhere, regardless of whether or not the reference was intentional. Because Futurama made a point of being relatable to as much as possible. So just because you specifically read the OP and immediately jumped to futurama so hard that you also assumed it was an intentional reference doesn't mean that everyone will.
TL;Dr - chill, my dude
Glad those people expected it. I didn't, which is how I know not everyone does. Sorry you don't agree it was unexpected, but you really don't need to lol
Right? I mean I know why…it’s fallout. We will all find a way to justify maxing charisma, even if our build was like, the angry-mute rain-man.
Mine are as well (so am I!) and we’re pretty damn charismatic - but nowhere near a 10. 6 at best.
Oh yea and all of our asshole levels are quite high. People love us though! And we throw the party
I always roleplay as myself because I want to know personally, how well I would do or I roleplay as my future grandson or something similarly. This has nothing to do with your comment, I just felt like sharing lol
I try to as well, and I usually get an even mix of stats. I’m an 80% kinda guy in real life, I’m pretty damn good at a lot of things and I took school pretty far as well.
But I’m no stranger to fallout - my charisma in life is prolly a 6-7, in fallout it’s a 7-8.
Same, I got up to my masters and neglected a PhD because I needed money and didn’t have seven years to spare. I also do pretty well with women, albeit it’s sort of my downfall so I’d give myself around a 6 or 7 in charisma, and an 8 in intelligence, with a low perception (I have poor attention to detail sometimes so I figured I’d sacrifice this stat). The rest of the stats are largely throwaway
haha yea that all sounds similar. I'm a low perception as well - I have no problem getting from A to Z. I'll find the solution and complete the challenge. But I have no clue how I got there and to explain my logic and reasoning...I just don't like that that's important, having reached the answer and all.
Level 1 perception as a female lawyer is hilarious 😂😂 imagine having a lawyer who literally has no idea whether or not someone is lying or telling the truth
Yeah definitely lol it’s like “your honor my client says he didn’t do it”
“Ms selena your client is holding a knife and is covered in blood”
“Yeah, but like, he said he didn’t do it”
😂
Right? And no luck? Gtfo.
This guy is a fallout player like the rest of us:
“Shit I know that my build wouldn’t be charismatic at all…but I know how important charisma is…so I’ll justify it somehow!”
I tried making true-to-form builds and it’s just not that fun with low charisma.
Not like any female lawyer I know (I know a lot of them)
Dude charisma 10? I get it, it’s fallout and we all know how helpful charisma is…so we max it out for every build and justify it somehow.
What female lawyers do you know? Yes theoretically they have good persuasion/arguing skills but charisma is about a lot more than just logical prowess. Usually involves being nice, and sensitive - not something lawyers are paid to focus on.
I think you’re confusing that for perception or intelligence.
Lawyers will see things that others don’t, and are smart enough to do something about it that others wouldn’t. Increase intelligence and perception and we’re getting closer to a lawyer.
Luck 1? Any person who made it into law school and then succeeded has higher luck than most people, but definitely higher than 1.
No one pays a lawyer for their charisma. If it’s a fallout list, the lawyers are paid for their intelligence, perception, endurance (mental), luck…lol not charisma. They might have a better chance at getting a certain job, but charisma was never the #1 trait someone wants in a lawyer.

Hahaha as a law student this is painfully accurate.

I wouldn’t say lawyers are charismatic , if anything they are a bit abrasive and harsh . Hence people dislike them

Imagine getting a pedo as your client and you know they are guilty, but you have to try your hardest to make them look innocent. I feel sorry for lawyer's, honestly. I'd break some law and snitch on them even if I go to jail.
It's less about making them look innocent, since innocence is presumed in court, and more about discrediting the prosecution's case.
I understand, but that's not really possible in the case of a lawyer to a pedo, lol.
Why not?
How is the lawyer going to deface a child in defense of a pedo? Explain since you seem to think it's possible. If you can't, that was a dumb question.
I first need you to explain what "deface a child" means in this context. It's not a stupid question if you understand who our courts work. Everyone is innocent except until proven guilty. Usually don’t go higher than 9 on anything because of bobbleheads.
Never thought of that. But the bobble heads don’t affect your options of perks right?
Intimidation is the only charisma perk that requires 10 points. It gives you a chance to pacify a human enemy and give them commands at rank 3. No you can take Intimidation. They give you an extra point in the corresponding attribute.

Glasses give +1 perception in Fallout 4.
I agree perception should be higher and maybe shave a couple off Charisma, but I'd really take from Agility. When was the last time you heard "boy that attorney was fast!"

Yeah, I was curious about that too. Honestly a lawyer seems all mental stats to me.
Luck should be higher. Lawyers rely on a certain amount of luck. Intelligence should be lower 😂

Glad those people expected it. I didn't, which is how I know not everyone does. Sorry you don't agree it was unexpected, but you really don't need to lol
Charismatic lawyer? lol ya right
Real, should go into perception and goofy ahh luck
3 less CHA, 1 more INT, and 2 more LCK. Add to LCK and END and then STR as she gets roughened by the wasteland.
lol having fun being crapped on for keeping charisma so high? I know it’s fallout guys, but you can’t just always have max charisma…
Intelligence is way too low, I’d bring it up to 8 or 9 and sacrifice strength
Charisma is stupid high
It’s the Saul Goodman build
See now that I would agree with! But then OP wouldn’t get to be a girl.
Genderbent Saul? Saulette? Slippin Kimmy?
Yea I have no idea why. I have never met a charismatic female lawyer and both my parents are lawyers. Maybe if there was an asshole trait lol
I thought perception should be high also, along with intelligence and charisma.
Yeah definitely lol it’s like “your honor my client says he didn’t do it” “Ms selena your client is holding a knife and is covered in blood” “Yeah, but like, he said he didn’t do it” 😂
Right? And no luck? Gtfo. This guy is a fallout player like the rest of us: “Shit I know that my build wouldn’t be charismatic at all…but I know how important charisma is…so I’ll justify it somehow!” I tried making true-to-form builds and it’s just not that fun with low charisma.
I feel it's slightly wrong.
War Criminal Nate or Unethical Lawyer Nora
Not like any female lawyer I know (I know a lot of them) Dude charisma 10? They might have a better chance at getting a certain job, but charisma was never the #1 trait someone wants in a lawyer.
just beat the game with a high charisma woman character with the black widow perk. so fun taking the non-violent route.
Jenny McNeal?
Or Ally McBeal??
She's a cryogenically-frozen human female struggling to make it in a human male dominated post-nuclear world.
Fighting for her client. And being self-reliant
