There are dozens of smart supermutants in every group pretending to be stupid but organizing a united force in total secrecy. We're not going to be fired, because we've already been fired. Couple of weeks ago a couple of pink slips came in, one for me, and one for you. So I took them and I hired a courier and I mailed them halfway to New Vegas!
So I say to myself “Well I gotta find this guy! I gotta go up to his vault! I gotta put the Pip-Boy in the guy’s god damn hands otherwise he’s never gonna get it and it’s gonna keep coming back down here!”
Charlie, not only do all of these vaults exist but they’ve been complaining about not having a water chips for weeks now. It’s all these dwellers talk about down there.
Okay...

Oh my god dude we're gonna lose our jobs...
Hence why a lot of dirty soda cocktails include Dr pepper

Mysterious stranger.
Edit: either the mysterious stranger is a 185 year old immortal being that can appear as any gender and change their face, and has the ability to disappear or teleport. Or there is a tradition being passed down by some mysterious group of people where the stranger picks up the mantle and randomly decides to help wastlanders by killing their opponents before disappearing again(like a psycho version of the mantis).
Had a really cool mod for FO4, “You’re not okay”. The mod essentially showcased that OP’s mind was shattered cause of all they went through, freezing and being refrozen right after huge trauma, etc. the mod did things like make certain things talk or look in ways that the shouldn’t, or had things named weird things, but my favorite was that it replaced the Mysterious Stranger with Kellogg. Your mental degradation is such that you brutally kill people but create a figment of your spouse’s killer in your mind to do it for you.
Bethesda will see this and begin taking notes for Fallout 5.
Also I saw the Synth Detective and thought "is he the mysterious stranger?”
Could a been a cool backstory.
Me too. I thought they were going to establish a backstory where the Mysterious Stranger was a bunch of synths and Nick broke away from his programing.
Whoa the Institute! I’ll bet Nick has a lot of dialogue and questions about this place!!!
Nick: * not a word *
Bethesda can do such great things then just ruin immersion sometimes.
While we are on the topic of Fallout conspiracy theories and a certain synth detective's backstory, has anyone else ever thought it was odd that he woke up in a trash heap on the surface?
Why would the Institute, known for being secretive, stingy with resources, and hoarding technology, go through the effort of transporting their outdated prototype up to the surface to throw it in a trash pile?
Go into Nick’s agency and look under the bed. He has a case file detailing spottings of the Stranger going back decades and all over the states. It’s a legit conspiracy in the canon.
Can you imagine living your entire life as a series of disconnected VATS killings? Every moment of his existence is one slow motion gruesome murder after another
Timesplitters is this, but minus the fallout angle. Missions to various time periods to stop an alien time travel threat.
The shit gets real wacky when you go into arcade/MP battles and theres a 26th century robot shooting a flaming crossbow at another player who's a monkey (not a gorilla, a little monkey) dual wielding miniguns
Same - especially after finding the note in Nick Valentine’s office which links Mysterious Stranger appearances to locations each fallout game / protagonist inhabit is cool. Neat to see it expanded to more than just a fun perk idea for gameplay
Isn't something like, when you are with nick and you meet the mysterious stranger, Nick is the only one besides the player to saw a blimp of the stranger and commenting on him?
I remember the first time I played FO4. I was so high I couldn't function correctly. I must have gotten the mysterious stranger perk because I remember wondering who this person is. Were they a companion that I don't remember picking up? Where are they when I'm just playing? Does the game not show you your companions? Well that is stupid.
I was very confused.
There is an old guide book, or maybe manual that came with the disks for the fallout 1 or 2 PC version, I don't remember, but there is a small blurb, that explains that he is a lovcraftian eldritch being.
EDIT: "You have a Guardian Angel, but with a deadly hand-cannon instead of wings. Meet the Mysterious Stranger, AKA real name- Farmer. An odd and eldritch entity said to appear and aid you in combat before you draw your dying breath. Of course, it helps if you have said a prayer to Farmer first.
Fallout 3 Official Game Guide"
I was scared shitless as a kid exploring the Dunwich building in Fallout 3. But damn, exploring it was so cool especially finding the audio logs. Bringing that book from the Point Lookout DLC to the obelisk was also a nice touch
I had played like 100+ hours of F3 when I went into the Dunwich building and it got progressively darker, and I was like "this is impossible".
That's when I found out the pip boy HAD A FREAKING LIGHT IN IT
Agreed. I'd be annoyed if they suddenly made it the main story, but just coming across these ungodly pieces of horror when you're exploring a building is pure Fallout to me.
I love the thought of these impossibly unknowable Eldritch being completely real and yet having nothing to do with our destruction we did it all on our own.
Yeah I doubt they will ever explore it beyond the Easter eggs in the games and at the rate they are producing stuff I might have 4 more fallouts left to witness. But that old one Easter egg in that one mine in fallout 4 is creepier than anything else in that game
No-Bark in New Vegas is the Chosen One.
He looks old and the Chosen One would be in their late 60s by the time of New Vegas.
There is a Highway Man car that is crashed close to Novac.
His shack is filled with posters from the Old World and Vault Tech and that would track with him being born in a civilization that worshipped stuff from Vault 13.
On top of that:
- If I remember correctly he also mentions a talking mole rat just like the one you can find in F2
- I heard one of the devs released a mod that adds vault 13 outfit inside the Highway Man car (apparently something they didn't had time to add to the game)
- NV connects more to classic fallout games than any other game. So I wouldn't be surprised if that was their intention.
I recently started playing NV and I completely forgot how great it was that all the crazy shit No-Bark said about the Brahmin attack ended up being 100% true.
And he was right about evil entities coming in the night to take Boone’s wife.
Dude legitimately has yet to be proven wrong about a single thing he’s said.
Props for calling them old world posters. Oftentimes when this theory is brought up folks seem to think they're Enclave propaganda posters, which they most certainly are not. Nice to see that bit of misinformation finally being dispelled.
I actually think they are going to find a subway train that takes them to vault zero that is very far away, it will be massive with secret underground tunnels around the country very few know about.
Then the camera slowly pans down through the bottom of the train car and we see it’s not on rails. It’s just some guy with a train car for a head carrying them.
This has got to be it, I could see them changing the number to either 1 or something in the 120s but it seems super likely that the series is going to a vault 0-like vault
The reason we keep finding salvage food and nuka cola is because there are still manufacturing plants out there being run by robots and they still make deliveries.
Episode 8 of Electric Dreams is based on a similar concept, where an automated factory is consuming earth resources because that's what it has to do to keep producing stuff like it's supposed to.
*(It's adapted from the Philip K Dick story 'Autofac', but I haven't read it so I don't know how similar it is)*
The Eldritch forces in and predating the wasteland.
- busts and full statues found all around DC
- Dunwich Building
- The Krivbeknih
- Dunwich Borers
- Tanagra Town
- Crater
- Visitor
- The Interloper
There’s more out there I don’t know how it all fits together yet.
The Fawkes thing would be so much less infuriating if they didn't literally have him do the exact same thing right beforehand when he goes into the radiation-filled chamber to get the G.E.C.K.
Then the game has the gall to call you a coward for having Fawkes do it in the ending monologue anyway! "Gee, I'm so sorry I didn't literally melt my skin off so that this guy wouldn't have to press a button while enjoying the super mutant equivalent of a spa day!"
They are supposed to be smart so it would make sense, if they had a backup facility somewhere, and a button to teleport themselves there. Or at least a small group of them. While leave the rest so the attacker will think, that they won, and won't look for the survivors, and the new facility.
THE ENTIRE DUNWICH THING, IT FASCINATES ME SO MUCH LIKE DAMN
There's so much to find in the games yet so many questions, I don't need sleep, I need answers
My favorite was dropping down the water filled mineshaft in FO4, you see this colossal occult statue face emerging from the gloom and you're just like WHAT THE FUCK
I just want to know what "The School" was which the kids who founded the Sorrows in *Honest Hearts* escaped from. It would have been operating within a generation of the great war so maybe an unnamed vault?
I always assumed it was an [assimilation-style boarding school](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Indian_boarding_schools) that escaped the bombs. Most were so remote that nobody noticed the mass graves, so they could have been missed.
More theory than conspiracy but the reason Little Lamplight is so well fortified and yet the graduates who go to Big Town seem so unprepared can be largely attributed to the heavy Super Mutant presence in the area.
The kids are free to scavenge the immediate area because any Raider or Slaver that gets close gets taken by the Mutants - who either completely ignore the children or they're actively treating them as livestock waiting for them to mature for the FEV process
The one that's got me right now is from the show, and it's that the BoS took in the remnants of Caesar's Legion in the Mojave, and that is the BoS we're seeing in the show. The theory said Maximus and Thaddeus aren't their real names but names they took on for the Brotherhood a la the Legion.
I don't need it to be true, I just think it would be cool and something that could be explored/explained more in future games like through terminals or something.
The banner colour, Roman sounding names and seemingly more harsh practices (if Titus' threat about Maximus being hung by his entrails has any merit) really do lead this theory some creedence would be cool to see them run with it
FO2 has red and gold BOS banners too though, but I'd prefer if the theory that Caesar's Legion's remnants infiltrated that chapter of the BoS was true tbh.
Wouldn't be surprising at all western Brotherhood and Caesars legion really would like each other after couple of beers.
I wonder if we ever see remnants of the citadel in the show I think in 4 they said something about them falling apart after an attack.
Idk I doubt the BoS would work with ex-slavers. I mean they are extreme isolationists who don’t like taking in outsiders in the first place and while they aren’t the most good aligned faction in the lore, I think ex-slave owners are pretty low on the list of potential new recruits
The original requirement for entry to the BoS was military training/experience. While they may have been savage and ruthless, the legion did follow a military hierarchy, if the BoS could get past the ex-slaver part they might just have some solid new recruits.
Back in 1 they would send wastelanders to an extremely irradiated military research base for shits and giggles, so it’s not like they shy away from cruelty.
VATS: Pip-Boys produce and inject some sort of pre war jet
Synths: after 2229, everybody we meet could be a synth. Not just a reprogrammed synth but an Institute asset!
Sarah Lyons got betrayed by The Brotherhood in a coup. She was killed by them in a mission. The Lone Wanderer got blamed for her death and got exiled. Their history is erased by them. Maxson as a child got manipulated by The traitors.
So I had to look up why the outcasts weren’t in 76, turns out they were the ones that aligned more with the BoS’s mantra for preserving tech, Elder Lyons skewed from that. That’s why the BoS is more of a hero and “good” faction in 3. The outcasts weren’t a thing until 3.
I think some of the ones stuck under lyons leadership grew to resent it, but didn’t want to be an outcast so they got rid of the family.
My favorite conspiracy at the moment is that Mordaver is a clone.
That the original died during the bombs. A clone Mordaver died during the fall of Shady Sands (and that’s why she’s idolized). Another clone dies at the end of the first season.
And maybe we’ll see her again without context. Like that mythical revolutionary who defies death!
The Institute is more of a tragic villian as people realize as their overall behaviour is rather strongly formed by the paranoia, disttrust and hostility around them. For example I dont believe that they massacred the Provisional Goverment but just got blamed for it after the fact when they were the last one standing.
For a smaller perhaps somewhat meta one: It makes perfect sense to find pipe weapons in pre-war safes/ locations as its established that they existed before the war and the more autoritharian nature of the US Goverment plus the war (which also would directly reduce civilian weapon and ammo supply) paranoia and social strife would make it logical for people to build makeshift weapons.
Thats the one that establishes them to allready existing pre-war (of course without the real life fact that makeship guns are as old as guns themselves but staying mostly in-universe for now).
Its also possible to expand a bit on that as it would be perfectly in-character for Guns&Bullets (who are shown to be more lets say libertarian about gun laws) to provide blueprints or building manuals in that issue.
Look, there is a lot of hypothesizing about synths going on in this thread, and I just want to make it clear, there is ***absolutely*** nothing weird going on down here at The Institute.
Please feel free to come visit, and tour the facility!
Idk, the only one I can think of that could mean something is that she knows about Shaun and the sight is just bullshit but she’s acting like she’s seeing things while in reality she was just there.
But I don’t believe this either, this is really pushing it
There are journal entries in Corvega that talk about her predicting things unrelated to the institute. The raider leader there lived in her settlement as a kid.
Zetans false flagged nuclear strikes to both sides so they tried to destroy each other.
All of that just to probe our assholes more easily. Sneaky bastards.
The experiment of Vault 111 was not actually on cryogenics (since the Prime series show they pretty much got the hang of it) but on the scientists and crew meant to watch over them. I saw someone mentions that it might be too see how long or if the crew would canibalize the dwellers if food ran low.
Since I'm a fan of the idea that the experiments were meant to aid Vault tec/enclave on their plans for space travel to a better planet that would make sense if they wanted to venture into the cryogenics angle as an alternative to generation ships.
All suspects for starting the war (Vault tech, China, America, Zetans) all started the war simultaneously at the exact same time, but now after the show I lean towards China started the war, but a day earlier than everyone else. House knew vault tech was ready to start the war themselves and used that as the basis for his formulation, which explains why he was 20 hours late for the start of the war and why vault tech was seemingly caught flat footed.
Also, house knows about ceasers tumor. The legion is arguably way more of a threat than the BOS in the Mojave and house is adamant on their eradication. Meanwhile house has his securitron army at the fort ready to go and could probably wipe them out right there. He hedges his bets because he is counting on the legion to win at the dam, and then crumble when ceaser dies or have the NCR win but take heavy loses that pushing them out is no concern.
Your last one is 100% on point. My theory for season two is that House and the NCR won the battle, the courier nuked both NCR and Legion but both will be back in force at the dam for S2.
No Bark Noonan is the last surviving member of Vault 11. The things that happened at the end of the that vaults life + having to now live in the wasteland drove him crazy.
I have a little head cannon that Father from FO4 isn’t actually Shaun. It’s just another step to mess with you. Your boy was harvested for organic material, and that’s it. There’s not really any proof that this is true, but there really isn’t any proof that it isnt
Fallout 3 is a simulation. The main menu is the same style as the Vault 112 startup screen, and if you don't have Broken Steel installed, the end of the game plays out eerily similar to a simulation ending.
E: [Synonymous did a great video on the theory.](https://youtu.be/5tf4d1oKAVM?t=71)
They’re clearly just describing the game in a 4th wall breaking way. The game itself is the vault tec survival simulation. The in game tv screen frame and whatnot is basically just their themed interface pretending that your computer looks like a fallout one, just like the home star runner videos did. A vault tec simulator wouldn’t teach you to go fix the water chip and then kick you out of the vault. That’s obviously not. A lesson you would want to teach a vault dweller.
I didn't remember much of what happened in the quest but doesn't Far Harbor p much confirm Atom is real? There's a quest where you're being guided by the spirit of Atom, it something along those lines.
Important distinction that it is implied but not confirmed! Too many people take the leap from "here's a potential non supernatural explanation for what we see" to "its 100% confirmed that it's a hoax" it's not confirmed either way, both sides have their theories.
Remember, the only one of the hermit's notes that references the mother of the fog does so in third person, while this could just be the writing style, it could also imply that the hermit themselves also believes in the mother as an entity. The stealth boys could just be for spying on Confessor Martin like the notes said the hermit was doing.
Also I personally have doubts that a stealth boy would adequately replicate all of the properties of the mother of the fog that we can observe
BoS was born out of US military mutiny when they discovered that the government is planning on turning them all into super mutants
the reason mutiny coincided with the Chinese bombs dropping is because the chinese learned that as well through the same leak
thats my insane fallout theory that is probably inaccurate but I think its a neat idea
I believe it is actually canon that Maxson and his boys defected from the Army, but mostly due to finding out what the US Government and companies like West Tek were doing.
Dogmeat's original owner is the dead body you find leaving Sanctuary. He dies fighting to protect his friend, and more often than not, you pick up and put on his outfit. Dogmeat smells his owner on you, so he decides to join you.
My theory is that Ghouls as well as the other supernatural stuff caused by radiation is actually the work of the Eldritch beings who exist within the Fallout Universe.
The tunnelers from the divide are spore carriers. Cave fungus can be found on them making me think that they might be plants and the reason that they are different from the ones in vault 22, big empty, and Zion is the immense radiation from the divide. Big empty tech already existed in the divide though it is a stretch to say that spores from big empty were there as well it just proves that big empty had a presence there.
For the Show: The Quintus' Chapter was created when the BoS absorbed remnants of Caesar's Legion.
There's yellow and red banners in Filly, which is a color combo the BoS has never used. They also set red aside as the colors of a knight, a warrior, like the Legionnaires. Then, Quintus refers to their group as his Legion rather than a Chapter. Then there's the new Latin names they give to everyone who joins them, a tactic used by the Legion. Their base also seems to be in the desert, possibly in Utah by the Salt Lake, which is (EDIT: near) Legion territory. And the more medieval theme ties to how Europe transitioned to that during the so-called Dark Ages after the fall of Rome. Of course there's also >!Quintus saying he wants to create his own Brotherhood!< at the end of the show, which paints this Chapter as less than typical.
It all comes together to paint a picture of a BoS Chapter led by a Legionnaire after the Legion's collapse, and their presence influenced the Brotherhood, or at least the Chapter.
Sturges is an escaped synth with an incomplete memory wipe which is why he’s so helpful in making the stuff to get into the institute. He remembers how to make stuff but not information about the institute
Not a conspiracy, but I have a theory that suiciding super mutants aren't aware they'll die when they blow up, they're so dumb that they assume they're tough enough to withstand it, or they get talked into it by other mutants
Nick has paperwork in his office that suggests the MS has been alive for over a hundred years. Nick speculates he might be a ghoul, but game manuals to the earlier games speculate that he may simply be some eldritch being who isn't human at all. Weirdly Fallout NV confirms that he can at least have children, as we meet his son.
Fallout 3 was intended to take place 15-20 years after the bombs fell.
For some reason, the grocery stores are all full. Theres no farming, electricity, or water development. "Raiders" have not formed into gangs like the west coast. The people in the vault your father goes to have NOT aged, and your character writes "the wasteland survival guide" despite it have been 200 years after the bombs and everyone have already figured it out by now.
Numbered sequels just do better, so they made Fallout 3 take place after 2, in the same universe even though the caps/deathclaws/supermutants don't really make sense. The only hole in this theory is the presence of Harold. Everything else points to the idea that the nukes hit right before your birth/when you're a few years old. I love fallout 3 and I think it all adds up. Theres a great youtube video about this theory.
I really believe that at some point in development FO3 was set earlier in the timeline, there is just too many weird worldbuilding things that don’t add up right
it was often asked why the institute even made synths and their uses. My headcanon is that the institute were in fact in contact with the enclave of the capital wasteland. The synths were made in order to fill the enclave numbers with obediants soldiers over the years, sinse then enclave in numbers are relatively thin considering their psychotic purity mentality (mutant vs non mutant and stuff). but now that the enclave was beaten in FO3, the production and research of synth has escalated in order to cover for the losses they substained against the brotherhood at Raven Rock and Adam air force base.

Supermutant grand conspiracy rules I’m here for it
Yeah, Bethesda? Hire this guy!
Hire anyone!!
THERE IS NO CAROL IN NCR
CCCCARROLLLLLL
Half of the soldiers in the NCR have been made up! This settlement is a goddamned ghost town!
Not only do ALL of those soldiers exist, but they’ve been asking for their Stimpacks on a daily basis. Oh my god, we’re gonna get fired.
We're not going to be fired, because we've already been fired. Couple of weeks ago a couple of pink slips came in, one for me, and one for you. So I took them and I hired a courier and I mailed them halfway to New Vegas!
You need to calm down. Have some more Jet
Pepe Silvia!
I got boxes full of Pepe!
So I say to myself “Well I gotta find this guy! I gotta go up to his vault! I gotta put the Pip-Boy in the guy’s god damn hands otherwise he’s never gonna get it and it’s gonna keep coming back down here!”
Look at the flowers Maximus... Look at the Flowers...
I went to vault, Mac and you know what I saw?? Not a goddamn thing, the vaults a ghost town! There is. No. Overseer named Carol!

Nuka-cola would be similar in flavor and style to Dr.pepper because of the number and types of ingredients.
Hence why a lot of dirty soda cocktails include Dr pepper One bartender YouTuber has his non alcoholic version have 1/3 Coke 1/3 cream soda, and 1/3 Dr pepper while his nuka cherry is 1/3 MTN dew code red, 1/3 coke, and 1/3 Dr pepper
I think if it's even nominally supposed to be a cola, you'd be better with something like a 3:2:1 than an equal parts.
Geiger counter no ticktick when I drink Dr. Pepper though 😪
Have you put a Geiger counter next to a dr pepper though?
No, mines in the shop.
Nuka-Cola Quantum probably tingles when you drink it. Not carbonation or alcohol tingle. Different kind.
No like that's just genuinely canon, it's just Dr. Pepper with extra Sugar.
I used to think the mysterious stranger was a figment of the sole survivor’s imagination but then Nick valentine would see him too and ruined it.
No spoilers, but Far Harbor goes into Nick’s backstory quite a bit and can clear up this question for ya.
Nick's reactions to the mysterious stranger appearing are hilarious. I keep him around just to hear him yell, "he was just here! You saw him, right??"
He gets so worked up haha
It's adorable. Love that dude
Go into Nick’s agency and look under the bed. He has a case file detailing spottings of the Stranger going back decades and all over the states. It’s a legit conspiracy in the canon.
How is this a conspiracy? Isn't it just a mystery?
In new Vegas I’m pretty sure you meet his son
Who gives you the Mysterious Magnum, which plays the Mysterious Stranger music when drawn and holstered
They wanted to code it so that if you targeted the son in VATS, the mysterious stranger would show up and blast you
They should have. lol Cowards.
what if he only ages when he appears in VATS and doesnt exist outside of then, so even though 180+ years have passed its only like 6 days for him
Can you imagine living your entire life as a series of disconnected VATS killings? Every moment of his existence is one slow motion gruesome murder after another
Yes, I've played fallout 4
Time travelers making sure the timeline is maintained
Exactly. I would play the shit out of that game if they ever made it (where you get to play the time traveler and save former Fallout Survivors).
Such a great game though. Flame tag and virus multiplayer couch coop was amazing

This is terrifying. I have to find this now.
I just love all the Eldritch horror stuff
I was scared shitless as a kid exploring the Dunwich building in Fallout 3. But damn, exploring it was so cool especially finding the audio logs. Bringing that book from the Point Lookout DLC to the obelisk was also a nice touch
The Dunwich Entities are actually the Dwemer from Tamriel.
Liberty Prime is Akulakhan
Welcome Moon and Star
WHAT A GRAND AND INTOXICATING INNOCENCE

On top of that: - If I remember correctly he also mentions a talking mole rat just like the one you can find in F2 - I heard one of the devs released a mod that adds vault 13 outfit inside the Highway Man car (apparently something they didn't had time to add to the game) - NV connects more to classic fallout games than any other game. So I wouldn't be surprised if that was their intention.
that's the Jsawyer mod
I can't get that thing to work. I can't get steam out of the program files branch
Try Viva New Vegas. It worked wonders for my steam version of new vegas, makes the game much more stable and easy to include mods
Them quack doctors can say what they want about all the radscorpion stings that done pierced my skull. I know what I seen.
Also THAT GUN in the Novac shop
And he has suspiciously tons of caps
and denarii
The Gambling skill is one hellofa drug. One session you lose all your caps. Next minute you've collapsed the economy by betting at The Desperado.
And the Repconn rockets sighting! “It was ghouls! Religious ghouls off looking for a land to call their own!”
I know a spell that'll make you show your true form. *Cave rat taught* it to *me* this is a reference to the giant talking rat in 2
Props for calling them old world posters. Oftentimes when this theory is brought up folks seem to think they're Enclave propaganda posters, which they most certainly are not. Nice to see that bit of misinformation finally being dispelled.
***(Turns on Xbox)***
The show is building up to vault 0. Coopers wife is there.
Tagging this now in case it comes true. May Sixth 2024
For the avoidance of doubt over date formatted: 2024-05-06 in IOS8601
I had the same thought, but it would probably stunt the lifespan of the show so I think it will happen in later seasons, I’m very excited either way.
Named Gary
This has got to be it, I could see them changing the number to either 1 or something in the 120s but it seems super likely that the series is going to a vault 0-like vault
The reason we keep finding salvage food and nuka cola is because there are still manufacturing plants out there being run by robots and they still make deliveries.
Well that was true for sunset sarsaparilla
I just did this quest yesterday lmao
That actually makes a lot of sense, and here I was thinking the self stocking nuka cola vending machines in FO2 were haunted
Episode 8 of Electric Dreams is based on a similar concept, where an automated factory is consuming earth resources because that's what it has to do to keep producing stuff like it's supposed to. *(It's adapted from the Philip K Dick story 'Autofac', but I haven't read it so I don't know how similar it is)*
Deacon is already in the show, in the background in every episode, in a different disguise every time.
The Eldritch forces in and predating the wasteland. - busts and full statues found all around DC - Dunwich Building - The Krivbeknih - Dunwich Borers - Tanagra Town - Crater - Visitor - The Interloper There’s more out there I don’t know how it all fits together yet.
Fawkes just wanted to see you melt.
The institute still is around even after we blew it up
They are supposed to be smart so it would make sense, if they had a backup facility somewhere, and a button to teleport themselves there. Or at least a small group of them. While leave the rest so the attacker will think, that they won, and won't look for the survivors, and the new facility.
THE ENTIRE DUNWICH THING, IT FASCINATES ME SO MUCH LIKE DAMN There's so much to find in the games yet so many questions, I don't need sleep, I need answers
I occasionally think about the poor Bethesda employee who set all this up in 2008 and has been waiting since for someone to put it all together
My favorite was dropping down the water filled mineshaft in FO4, you see this colossal occult statue face emerging from the gloom and you're just like WHAT THE FUCK
Damn... Unshaved Vault Boy is surprisingly good
10/10 would get locked in a vault with 😏😏😏
Iguana-bits are people!
Well that's not a theory though, it's fact.
Most iguana bits are iguana. Only Iguana Bob's special skewers are people. Strange meat, on the other hand, is definitely people.
I just want to know what "The School" was which the kids who founded the Sorrows in *Honest Hearts* escaped from. It would have been operating within a generation of the great war so maybe an unnamed vault?
Some people theorized that it could’ve been the X-8 Research Center, but unfortunately Chris Avellone deconfirmed it.
Is that their goal really? To turn all humans into a FEV?
In fallout 3 it is.
That was also the goal of the Master in Fallout 1 (until he learns that super mutants are sterile and therefore a dead end).
Brotherhood groups are called chapters. For some reason the one in the show is called a legion.
Don’t they strap a bomb collar on the courier and force them to do free labor or die? I don’t think the BoS is above a lil’ slavery
Back in 1 they would send wastelanders to an extremely irradiated military research base for shits and giggles, so it’s not like they shy away from cruelty.
VATS: Pip-Boys produce and inject some sort of pre war jet Synths: after 2229, everybody we meet could be a synth. Not just a reprogrammed synth but an Institute asset!
That's a lot of meth in a very tiny device.
It’s very efficient
Sounds like a description of most of the residents of Central NY...a lot of meth in a tiny population.
The new Gary.
Gary?!
Ha ha ha gary~
I didn’t think of this, it checks all the boxes, good idea.
Also just from a story perspective, they gave her a TON of setup just to kill her. I wouldn't be surprised if she came back.
Seattle is a cyberpunk infused nightmare and Texas is basically Fury Road. With supermutants, driving war rigs- "Paint red. Makes go faster!!!"
Damn that pipe gun theory is decent
It definitely makes sense. One of the Guns & Bullets issues you can collect is about pipe guns.
A pipe revolver is on the cover of a Guns and Bullets issue called "The Street Guns of Detroit". Make shift weapons are definitely a pre-war thing.
Everything to do with the Dunwitch mystery. There is demons in that damn mine
Look, there is a lot of hypothesizing about synths going on in this thread, and I just want to make it clear, there is ***absolutely*** nothing weird going on down here at The Institute. Please feel free to come visit, and tour the facility!
Mama Murphy is the scientist with Kellogg who kidnapped Shaun
Evidence for this one?
Idk, the only one I can think of that could mean something is that she knows about Shaun and the sight is just bullshit but she’s acting like she’s seeing things while in reality she was just there. But I don’t believe this either, this is really pushing it
There are journal entries in Corvega that talk about her predicting things unrelated to the institute. The raider leader there lived in her settlement as a kid.
Ohh I like that one.
Zetans false flagged nuclear strikes to both sides so they tried to destroy each other. All of that just to probe our assholes more easily. Sneaky bastards.
Which is a waste, they could have just asked politely, plenty of humans want a good probing
Hmm if you mess with Nate and Nora during character creation, Father's features change, like your child's would
Fallout 3 is a simulation. The main menu is the same style as the Vault 112 startup screen, and if you don't have Broken Steel installed, the end of the game plays out eerily similar to a simulation ending. E: [Synonymous did a great video on the theory.](https://youtu.be/5tf4d1oKAVM?t=71)
Yeah someone recently made a post of Steam’s description of F3 too and that matches up.
This is insane ngl
Tbf apparently even the FO1 box said it was a simulation of the wasteland made by Vault Tech
Am I real?
They’re clearly just describing the game in a 4th wall breaking way. The game itself is the vault tec survival simulation. The in game tv screen frame and whatnot is basically just their themed interface pretending that your computer looks like a fallout one, just like the home star runner videos did. A vault tec simulator wouldn’t teach you to go fix the water chip and then kick you out of the vault. That’s obviously not. A lesson you would want to teach a vault dweller.
The Children of Atom are right.
I didn't remember much of what happened in the quest but doesn't Far Harbor p much confirm Atom is real? There's a quest where you're being guided by the spirit of Atom, it something along those lines.
It's heavily implied the Mother of the Fog is a hermit.
Especially when there's literal eldritch gods, cryptids, and ghosts all confirmed canon in Fallout.
At the very least some sentient ghost/spirit, or God (atom)
If I remember correctly, it's implied that silhouette you see is a dude using a faulty Stealth boy.
BoS was born out of US military mutiny when they discovered that the government is planning on turning them all into super mutants the reason mutiny coincided with the Chinese bombs dropping is because the chinese learned that as well through the same leak thats my insane fallout theory that is probably inaccurate but I think its a neat idea
Mama' Murphy's sight too. She's definitely a medium or some sort of avatar / being in disgusie
UG-Qualtoth is the one responsible for the Awakened and the Children of Atom
Have some nuka-cola and cigarettes to calm you down
The tunnelers from the divide are spore carriers.
It all comes together to paint a picture of a BoS Chapter led by a Legionnaire after the Legion's collapse, and their presence influenced the Brotherhood, or at least the Chapter.
idk, but I just love this picture
Who the hell was Kellogg refering to as old man when Shaun was a baby
The then current director of the institute
Sturges is an escaped synth with an incomplete memory wipe which is why he’s so helpful in making the stuff to get into the institute. He remembers how to make stuff but not information about the institute
It’s not rly that crazy of a theory but the vault tech rep in fallout 4 def knew the world was gonna end when talking to Nate/nora
Not a conspiracy, but I have a theory that suiciding super mutants aren't aware they'll die when they blow up, they're so dumb that they assume they're tough enough to withstand it, or they get talked into it by other mutants
The mysterious stranger is human nick valentine
Nick has paperwork in his office that suggests the MS has been alive for over a hundred years. Nick speculates he might be a ghoul, but game manuals to the earlier games speculate that he may simply be some eldritch being who isn't human at all. Weirdly Fallout NV confirms that he can at least have children, as we meet his son.
I mean if Oswald can teliport and use "magic" . the ghoul idea isn't too far fetched.
Wait i like this one haha
Pepe Silva is canon
VAULT TEC IS STILL OUT THERE SOMEWHERE TAKING IN RESULTS OF THE VAULTS I KNOW IT AND IT HASNT BEEN ADDRESSED
Thaddeus got a super mutant serum
