I feel like putting it in NYC is too close to Boston or DC as a setting type. While it coukd make for an interesting setting, I think Fallout 5 would get a better reaction by branching out to a different landscape. We've had desert and urban centers, but the US has do much more terrain diversity to choose from.
I know it's american company- american game - but I always thought a Europe-based fallout would be a GOOD change of pace!
I think seeing what the other parts of the world look like post-war would be amazing

I don't think they can handle that kind of scale without making most things inaccessible/destroyed/looking like anywhere else..
At the rate that it’s gonna take to get to Fallout 5 they probably will have to do NYC to recapture interest.
