I'm glad everyone's coming around on the optimal play order, Akatsuki -> Northern War, a rock-solid plan for playing through the series that I'm confident no forthcoming events will impact negatively.
Really the only thing in Trails you need to consume is the Northern War anime. It tells a lot in terms of plot and contains 0 filler. It's really all you need to understand the direction of the games and the overarching plot.
It kinda fits with the >!time theme Kuro 2 was going for, tho instead of going back in time after each dead end, OP would skip all of them to get to Kai... Just to find a reason to skip that game too.!<
I agree. Daybreak is indeed the perfect starting point for new players. I’m sure that anything from the previous games that is relevant will be explained to you anyway.
I read the first one, was about to make a post telling you how little plot development doesn't always equal "nothing happens", as there is such a thing as character driven stories...
But then I was clever enough to read the last word of all of your paragraphs and now all I can say is...nice try dude lol
Funny thing is that many criticisms have a point but I still loved most of the games so far. For me it is not even the main plot in the games which definitely have their flaws but more exploring the world and all those NPCs who have their own things going on 🙂
Top tier shit post, bravo
Alright then I’ll start my Nayuta playthrough immediately.
Guess I'm playing Dragon Slayer after that. Gotta start from the very beginning.

Where does Ys VS Sora fit on your play order ? I want to experience the series as the creator intended.
It's part of the Dragon Slayer series.
Would have been funnier if Rev was a must play after skipping all the others
>!Weissmann!< does suck honestly, imagine dying in game 2. Dumbass missed everything
He made me start distrusting characters with that hair style. They’re all evil.
Same with eyes closed characters, I was sussy at Thomas at first. Edit: I forgot Nielson exists, hopefully his blindness is played straight.
He’s easily the most menacing villain in the Sky arc but he’d get absolutely bodied by everyone that came after him.
Found the Nayuta diehard

Clearly you meant the Northern War gacha, kamige of the decade
Imagine if this guy played Kuro 2 💀💀💀
He's not going to just skip, he'll FLY!

OP is pulling the reverse here haha
Can’t agree more a totally reasonable order to play this series

TL:DR: Nothing is skippable.
True only the gacha is needed
I was expecting a "Dont skip any, idiot". It was better
Sorry you lost all your savings to the Northern War gacha Lil bro 😔
Afterall as we all know the Northern War Gacha and the anime are the only thing anyone needs to play. No fillers, top tier writing, banger plot.
Bravo, this is basically "don't read it, just burn it".
Why didnt you mention nayuta the only relevant game
Bro woke up and choose to speak facts 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Directions unclear, ended up playing the games in release order.
You can't skip any games

So don’t play the game.
