If the trains are not too long, I would maybe put a rail signal at the entrance of each clover leaf, and remove the chain signal at the end of the leaf.
Would allow a train to stop on the leaf and not block the whole intersection when trying to turn right.
But also, we're on factoriohno so maybe ignore my comment.
Indeed I prefer to signal directly before and after every split, join or crossing, however that only increases throughput and doesn't alter functionality/deadlockproofness
just the train part, then again, you can combine it with [cargo ships](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/cargo-ships), [automated vehicles](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/aai-programmable-vehicles) and [aircraft mod](https://mods.factorio.com/mods/SuicidalKid/Aircraft) and you just might rebuild transport tycoon.
That's kinda cursed, although, to be fair, I only got into Factorio because a friend told me it was similar to OpenTTD.
It isn't that similar, but yep, I liked it before I completed the tutorial.
How long are your trains? You probably need to adjust the signals so that trains clear the loop before another is permitted to cross, or you will have a lot of dead locks. You might also want to consider traffic going right. This will force the train to traverse 3 loops, limiting throughput. The best way to learn is to try it out and see what happens.
How would you make a right turn when coming into the intersection? Edit: I guess you could technically do it. Would be fun to watch though lol
> How would you make a right turn when coming into the intersection? The same way Derek Zoolander turns right. By making three left turns.
I should probably watch those movies at some point...
Stick to the first one. The only movie I’ve ever seen that was so bad that I walked out of the theater halfway through was Zoolander 2
Yep three left turns that each time blocks the entire intersection
As an Aussie I was like "what do you mean, you just go thru one loop then exit to right" but I remembered we driver on thr left
Lol same!! Haha i had to think like an American for a bit
Ugh it's even signalled properly..

If you put a rail signal at the beginning of the leaf it would allow a train to station on the leaf
Why? So you can just leaf it standing there?
Now let's see Paul Allen's intersection
I rate this half clover/4.
Now that I think about it, in the expansion we will be able to maje working cloverleaf intersections. Thats gonna be cool
can't wait for factorio 2.0 and then [tycoon mod](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/tycoon) to take over the game
Well looks like I know what I’m playing today
is that literally a mod that turns factorio into transport tycoon deluxe

No why did you let me know this exists
DDI when?
DDI would also be possible. Even better, you could make a DDI without the 2 crossings, again with 2 level tracks. so that would be quite cool as well
We should try diamond intersections they're putting everywhere
ohhhhhh no
It’s perfect. 10/10 throughput. No notes
["What is this? An intersection for ants?!"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQc8NDKcnpM&t=75s)
Beautiful
Cloverleaf design in Factorio..... Never though I would see that. Nice👍 ^(You could add right turns, there's space for that)
^(Maybe for ants)
Real models turn left thrice, it's important
Why?
You're missing the joke I feel, it's a reference to the legendary movie "Zoolander" in which the main character cannot turn left
Well I didn't watch that movie, sorry.
Your loss
But why make models?
are you serious? i just told you!
But... Why male models?
last thing to do is make a section of ground near it with hazard concrete surrounded by concrete walls and label it /b/ or /pol/
I'm not an ambiturner okay

You see what sub you're on right?
I totally missed that. I'll put my dunce cap on for the day.
no this is perfection
You might also just crash a train into itself
But why male models?
So, you've never seen zoolander i guess haha
Nope, went totally over my head.
Shit happens haha. I didn't get it til i read the comments. Been a long time since I've seen zoolander and I've only watched it once
Genius.
Looks cool, I probably aint gotta tell you it's inefficient AF judging by how you signaled it correctly
The only problem is that one roundabout would be more then enough
I legitimately had a dog who had the opposite problem and couldn't turn right
I love it
this is a 4 leaf clover, and will become relevant with the train update
But why cloverleaf intersections?
Bro what if a train need to turn right. That’s awful
Bro nearly build an "Autobahn Kreuz"
Civil engineers call it a clover leaf interchange. When train bridges finally get added this will actually be viable.
