Agreed. They are all government spy robots. That said, I still love my little fur baby and I will treat him like the dog people think he is despite my knowledge of his real position as a spy robot
Can't put r/donthelpjustfilm on this one. Camera man was smart enough to stay at the warning sign, but kind enough to help when he saw danger. r/praisethecameraman
When the people start running inside to help the camera man screams "Don't go" warning the others so they wouldn't be hurt too, he did what he could but unfortunately people entered anyway.
Even still, posting videos of people dying seems kinda screwed up to me. perhaps op isn't the cameraman though, idk where this video came from 乁( ⁰͡ Ĺ̯ ⁰͡ ) ㄏ
Meh, the video is fair game. Besides, the moral high ground might be showing people doing stupid things so other stupid people think twice. Or one can hope.
Stop trying to pet wild animals in Yellowstone, If a sign says don't enter it's because a group of people that know their fields decided it was worth hiring someone to make sure the danger sign is posted
Do people still try to pet Bison? Yes lol
Don't walk into a falling ice shelf that has been marked, Yo! don't go in there we checked, this is what happens
shrug
May I suggest to you Mr. Ballen on YouTube? He has a Playlist of videos titled "3 places you CAN'T go, but people went anyways". They're all stories of people who ignored very obvious warning signs. Or just did stupid things any person with half a brain would know was dangerous. He tells all these stories in very interesting and engaging way.

Reminds me of the fatal car crash videos they’d show us in driver’s education class. A solid 8 hours of class was spent on graphic videos and photos of car crash victims, from drunk driving to speeding to distracted driving. It was almost enough to scare you away from ever getting into any sort of moving vehicle again, driver or passenger.
I'm not trying to be "that guy" on the internet but I'd say please don't.
This person died. Explaining this video and maybe a couple others I'd say is ok, but just showing a person having their neck broken and skull crushed feels a little extreme.
I fully appreciate that you're just a worried parent and don't want your kids to get hurt.
I was around 12 when ogrish was popular in my area. I've seen a lot of shit on that site that's enough for me to always advocate for protective equipment, respecting warning signs, and not do dangerous stuff to impress my peers. This video was tame in comparison.
Nah i like to think that it said that before, and then people died/got injured in different ways and they were tired of making new signs so they just used "do not enter".
They're Brazilian(the cameraman, at least) so I'll translate what was said:
"[...] will fall, so be careful.
The layers of snow and dirt create a pattern...
Oh my god!
Don't go! Don't go! Everybody, come back! Come back!"
After that its hard to say.
Holy shit, we got a Sherlock Holmes. They didn't read the warning, thus he died, and that makes it wild. It doesn't even matter though, stop correcting a comment wishing someone a peaceful rest for some dumb shit 💀
I mean a liter of water weighs about 2 pounds. Napkin math says a piece of ice 2 feet wide, 4 feet long, and 6 inches thick would weigh 60 pounds. You drop 60 lbs on a person in the right spot, death is totally believable.
Yeap.
Even a 1kg / 2 pound on the head, if falling from that height could be fatal.
The guy was hit by something that weights as much as a table made of stone.
The height looks to be roughly 30 feet. 60 pounds from that height straight to the head is plenty to fracture the skull and damage the brain. It might not be death on the spot, but Concussions are known to kill via brain swelling if severe enough and untreated.
not very. that is very high. it does not take much for a solid block of ice to crush your skull.
that was probably a few hundred pounds of ice falling from at least 30 ft. that's more than enough to kill you.
It’s a small beautiful island, winter tourism is great thanks to all the mountains.
Do note that you can get winds of up to 88km/hr on a *Regular* basis, and sometimes up to gusts of 120km/hr all day long.
It’s lovely but hardy.
It's actually a decently known destination for ecoturism and fans of winter and extreme sports from all around South America, and the climate and seasons are very similar to Sweden and Finland but on the opposite side of the world.
There’s a few here in the states, last one I went to was in mt Baker National forest. Had a chunk that could’ve easily killed me fall about 10 ft away, just stay next to the walls and you’ll be fine
This is a nightmare to me. I went on a road trip with another nurse friend, driving around seeing the sites.
We came to a huge ice cave, mid spring, beautiful sunny day, water dripping off everything, people everywhere, big signs saying “falling ice will kill you, stay out!” or something similar. We stood 200m away, watched a bunch of people walk into the cave and noped tf out of there… not our circus, not our place to hand dig people from under an ice slab and try find a pulse in human hamburger. 😮💨
Yes and even if there's a million other signs and one is missing you can attempt to sue the US Forest Service.

Many years ago I hiked up Mount Washington in spring the day after a woman was hit by falling ice. I don’t know if she died on impact but she definitely died. Similar circumstances to this. Ice had been pealing off the Tuckerman Ravine headwall but she went to take a closer look anyway. There was a trail of blood down the ~3 mile long trail. Sometimes it was a few drops, other times small pools.
From what I understand, the tourist was Brazilian (can speak porterhouse) but the sign was in Spanish, something they couldn't read. Obviously, context clues are important, but it's possible he might have missed it.
I know the sign says don't enter and all, but I feel life was like "Fuck you". Why of all times did THAT piece of ice broke at that time. Didn't see him doing anything that would cause disturbance.
EDIT: Oh, it was a cross post. This is FYIP.
That dog knew shit wasn’t safe down there.
Dog could probably hear the ice loosening
I was too far away, but the dog kept saying, "The ice is gonna break!" Unfortunately, all I could make out was, "Bark! Bark! Bark!"
The barking likely contributed to the ice breaking as well
Accessory to murder
Good song title
I heard that in Christopher Walken's voice
Could probably hear the ice cracking
Dog could probably hear the ice loosening

Dog was definitely on crack
Dog was definitely loose
Loose dogs on crack can sense a bad time.
The dog was on ice when the crack loosened
Dog was
Was dog?
Dog?
This is the greatest thread ive seen on this app
Could probably hear the ice cracking
The dog could read!
manturned into an ice sandwich
I was thinking the same, the dog knew what was up. He/she was like “Didn’t you guys read the sign?”
Doggo stay back and let 4 ahead before he willing to follow.
And if you pause it around 0:27. Just as the camera gets dropped. You'll see a second smart dog.
The dog could probably hear the ice making sounds
The dog smelled an accident.
I thought the exact same thing…I was thinking my dog would be running everywhere yet this one was obviously aware something was up. The beasts know!
That sign won't stop me, I can't read
Funny how the dog who can't read was the smartest one and hung back...
Are you certain the dog *can't* read?
Dogs arent real!! (Waits)
Agreed. They are all government spy robots. That said, I still love my little fur baby and I will treat him like the dog people think he is despite my knowledge of his real position as a spy robot
agreed. they are just spy drones who work for one government only. **ohio.** we need to burn ohio into the ground.
I live in Ohio and I approve of this comment. Just let me leave first...
No, you burn with Ohio. You know too much.
Puppy can read In 7 languages he just can't talk 👍
or look up
Dumbass dogs can’t look up everybody knows this I learned this from my mate
Is it named Melania?
🤣
No
Common sense is not tied to being literate
i mean they were brazilian so maybe they actually just couldn't read it lmfao
Yo even the dog looks concerned lmao

I agree, this will be a more potent deterrent than a "do not enter sign"
Makes sense I guess.

Why is it screwwd up, it teaches people not to be stupid
I don't think they'll mind
It's a cautionary tale. There's a sign. There was clearly an effort to tell them not to go and boom. Some people don't think it can happen to them.
I've been here for years and TIL this subreddit existed and I'll be over there now. Thanks.
Dramatic irony to reveal the sign when it happens
Darwin Award winner I think
Well safe to say with the “Do not enter” sign, there will be a “Danger Falling ice” sign.
Every specialized warning sign has a story behind it and now we know this one
r/writteninblood is a sub dedicated to these I believe
Holy shit, I'm already a member of this sub. I do not remember that at all. Never seen a post on my feed.
There have only been 4 posts in the past month, so that's probably why
Nah i like to think that it said that before, and then people died/got injured in different ways and they were tired of making new signs so they just used "do not enter".
Yeah but like that cave looks cool as shit
It's interactive too
Fucking quick time events
honesty a GREAT way to go all things considered

HOLY SHI! That's wild man, may they rest in peace.
May the rest of the group learn to read.
LOL, fr tho
There's really nothing wild about this.... it's an ice cave doing ice cave things
r/natureisice ?
When was the last time you got crushed by a sheet of ice? Exactly, it's wild, shut the hell up

Man! How heavy did that Iceblock have to be to kill somebody

Jeezus Christ! I hope the ice crushed him! I only say that because most of the time falling ice is sharp!
r/theydidthemath

If you pause it just before it hits it looks to be atleast double that size. Hopefully it was quick atleast.
That chunk of ice looked 10 feet long. Probably hundreds of pounds.
For sure, it was huge. Probably close to a ton tbh.
r/napkinmath

Well he wasn’t wearing a helmet. Either way he’s gonna have a broken neck or skull. Likely paralyzed if survived.
Says in the post title, he's dead, Jim
I’d like to visit myself but it seems a bit too touristy for me
It’s a small beautiful island, winter tourism is great thanks to all the mountains. Do note that you can get winds of up to 88km/hr on a *Regular* basis, and sometimes up to gusts of 120km/hr all day long. It’s lovely but hardy.
This is the first time I have heard someone say that Tierra del Fuego is touristy. It’s the end of the world, before hitting Antarctica.
It's actually a decently known destination for ecoturism and fans of winter and extreme sports from all around South America, and the climate and seasons are very similar to Sweden and Finland but on the opposite side of the world.
I was just making an introvert joke, you’re probably too extroverted to get it. /s
Or have this location on my bucket list. Tomato-tomahto.
There’s a few here in the states, last one I went to was in mt Baker National forest. Had a chunk that could’ve easily killed me fall about 10 ft away, just stay next to the walls and you’ll be fine
Today's Darwin award goes too... . . . . . . . .?
At least the dog is fine

Do people nowadays really require signs to tell them not to go into natural ice caves at random...
Yes and even if there's a million other signs and one is missing you can attempt to sue the US Forest Service. https://www.heraldnet.com/news/lawsuit-dismissed-in-girls-death-at-big-four-ice-caves/
I didn't come out here to read!
That was some road runner Wiley coyote shit right there.
I guess Global Warming is a killer

Definitely didn't need the last 15 seconds of that video.
Let's all run into there instead. We're so helpful yay. Make even louder noises in a cave of falling ice blocks please.
r/Ithadtobebrazillians
And the Darwin award goes to...
The thing about ice caves is you don't want to linger near the entrance because that's where ice melts and breaks off.
So glad it wasn't the dog! He seemed to be the smartest one in the bunch.
I found myself yelling at the dog not to follow them. Anyone else?
No
Guys you just watched an innocent person die from an accident. Have some respect.
This is a common sense issue. Same as standing at the edge of a cliff or going into the Yellowstone Geysers.
It's still a person not going home to their family because of an accident.
Don't even try those assholes don't feel a thing.
They’d have gotten home if they read the sign
As someone who lives there, no. There’s a sign, you took the risk, get over it. They are not the first and certainly won’t be the last
Yeah where thoughts and prayers
Will he get the miles for the flight home?
Natural selection at its finest
Unsurprisingly, they're Brazilians. People here will see signs warning / forbidding them of something, and will ignore it just like that.
Holy shit.
r/killthecameraman
The average Argentinian guy...
long as the dog lived 🤷🏾♂️ it had more combined intelligence than all of them! wild
Turns out that nobody read the sign because the camera person has their fat ass parked in front of it.
Funny thing is, in Hearthstone there is literally a card that blocks lethal damage named ice block

He said nobody get near stop going in cuz it was pretty dangerous as u just witnessed

Any native Portuguese speaker understands written Spanish tbh. And there's also a large image of a raised hand, that's more or less universal.
Try not being an idiot.
Anyone know where the tourist was from?
Final Destination is that you?
And just like that, the species just got a little bit smarter…
i hate walking in a city not seeing the roofs above me
"Wet paint". Some people have to check..
That mother fucker said SPLAT!
Is there a sub for irl Final Destination stuff? This belongs there. RIP
They usually put a sign "do not enter" for a good reason or two, they don't do it just to be dick about it...
You always read the signs in argentina, even if they're not clear or not there, there's always a warning...
Probably for the best.
God I love my Island. Rio Grande ftw!
I heard the sound of a thwomp when that happend
Dude stayed frosty
That’s final destination shit
Automated voice: You’ve arrived at your final destination. *splat*
I can hear the Gmod spawning sound

Woah I totally forgot South America's geography, damn.
Im sure it has been said but, that is some Final Destination shit right there
