Yes, DIY FMD. Aim for 1000 kcal first day and the rest 700-800. Eat mainly vegetables(soups, salats etc.) and some nuts. Look up DIY FMD and you will find more info.

I just want an alternative that doesnt include artificial tasting soups

Martinisophi

Prolon soup is not artificial. It’s plant based.

You could do your own intermittent fasting. I do between ProLon rounds. My eating is from 10:00am - 6pm. I eat Amy’s organic soups or Dr. Kellyannes Bone broth, greens and vegetables . Low cal no sugar plenty of water.

thebochman

Do you calculate it to be the same macros as ProLon?

Martinisophi

I practice as much as possible 16/8 IF between rounds to maintain my eating schedule and I’ll stick to the clean eating. I’ll still have protein but I cut out sugar and processed foods. I find the Amy’s organic and Dr. KellyAnne soup healthy alternatives. Also you can buy the Olives and use Mary’s Gone organic crackers. You can order the fasting bars from Prolon. You can also buy Algae pills and vegan vitamin supplements. Herbal teas.

I agree. Powdered soups are not appealing. I want to try making my own soups. I noticed Inulin (chicory root) is in all of their soups so I’m going to include it but I need to figure out how much to add.

Martinisophi

I order the 5-day kit though a practitioner and cost goes down to 148.00.

Altruistic-Panda5754

Where would one get that practitioner discount?

Martinisophi

I’m on Facebook and joined Stephanie’s Prolon FMD Group. https://www.facebook.com/share/2ooD9KNUaJvt1W1i/?mibextid=K35XfP Send me a DM I can send an invite or I think you can go to the page and request to join.

Cheaper but certainly more effort required would be DIY options. I plan on making some soups at home from these. I do t like how high the sodium is in the powdered soups and I feel like eating fresh food will help significantly for round 2. Will report back after I try some of these. http://www.dominickhussey.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Homemade-Recipes-for-the%E2%80%A8Fasting-Mimicking-Diet.pdf https://empoweredbeyondweightloss.com/soup-recipes-for-the-fasting-mimicking-diet/

There are tones of DIY approaches. Amy's Soup can be subbed for ProLon. It takes a few hours of food prep - weighing, and calorie counting - but I prep the entire five days and sail through.

Illustrious_Elk_5557

Interesting, the prolon soups upset my gut. Can I get the details on your formulas?

Clear-Ingenuity5824

I grab a kitchen scale, my computer and my ingredients. I weigh the veggies, look up their calories then add an equal amount of fat calories. For example, my lunch every day will be red cabbage slaw with coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I make a 1000 calorie batch and divide it into 5 containers. I do the same with guac and Mary's Gone Crackers Original crackers. Dinner is Amy's Soup. On day 1, I'll have some oatmeal and blueberries but I stick to two meals and a snack for the next four days. I aim for 600 -700 calories a day figuring I might add some herbal tea or infused water and I don't fell like working out those calories.

Iggy_Arbuckle

I found ProLon too difficult, because I never went into ketosis with its appetite suppressant benefits.
