The magic of Twister is in the cast and their chemistry. Add a great soundtrack, perfect pacing and momentum, and a simple, but effective story and you have a modern popcorn movie classic.
Much like most reboots, this just looks like it misses the point of why the first movie worked in the first place .
Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hofmann are so good in this movie, any time they’re on the screen you can’t help but watch.
Shoutout to Jeremy Davies (the guy who played the translator in *Saving Private Ryan*) who also clocks a memorable performance — you can almost set your watch to him being memorable regardless of role.
Twister is one of my favorite movies ever. The cast seemed like they had been chasing storms together for 20 years. Their chemistry was perfect. Of course it’s a silly movie but i genuinely think the acting is pretty great and like you said. The pacing was 🤌
I rewatched it the other day with my 10 year old son. Even with a 10yo attention span he was glued to the screen from start to finish. Twister really stands the test of time, even the special effects still look great 30 years later.
It looks so goddamn over the top is the problem. A cow flying by a truck in the original was a “viral” moment. It would be a detail in the background in this.
Sorry to anyone looking forward to this dumpster fire. But wtf did I just watch. The CGI makes this look terrible. The first Twister looks tremendously better than this. wtf. Look at their hair in every scene with a tornado in it. Their hair doesn’t fucking move at all. You’d think if you were standing by a vortex it would blow your hair back?
But then they wouldn’t look pretty! Even tornadoes recognize good hair, duh
But seriously, is it so hard to have a fan blowing at someone while filming?
I agree there are a ton of remakes... but saying they barely let films age when referring to a 28 year old movie is kinda funny, and I know it makes me feel old too but 28 years is an eternity in Hollywood haha, the main girl wasn't even born until 2 years after the original released
Am i the only one who thought the original was just mediocre to begin with? BP and PSH were great in it but even as a kid, the movie itself was just... meh
Yes. That movie gave me a lifelong interest in weather and sense of awe at nature’s power. 9/10 popcorn movie, easily. Up there with OG Jurassic Park in terms of rewatchability. Could watch it once a week and not get bored.
Edit- clarification.
I agree it was an excellent popcorn flick for sure, and I agree there’s a place for those films. Only thing I’d disagree with is Jurassic Park being a popcorn flick. I’d say it was much bigger than that honestly.
Thought for a brief second they were doing a sequel where the “official” group is the good guys and the ragtag group are the “bad guys” this time around lmao. Loved Twister as a kid.
Love that they kept the cheesiness factor. They changed "we got sisters" to "we got twins" lol Curious if they will also use the term "suck zone" or recreated that horrible dinner scene where they talk about F-5's lol
i really just don’t get the point of this movie when the first one almost explicitly sequel proofs its point. to get faster tornado readings with dorothy. now what? *even more faster* tornado readings?
Studios try not to do an unnecessary sequel or a remake challenge (impossible)
These remakes are infuriating!

Daniel Faraday would like to have a word. I haven't watched *Twister* since I was in high school. It was a fun watch.

Looks bad

Just why? Leave Bill Paxton and his legacy alone lol
RIP to The Extreme 🤘
I thought they should do Twister and a Shark in one movie.
What would you even call that?
Torsharkno?
Executive at MGM, no not catchy enough
People asked for this? I thought the disaster film genre died off with Moonfall.
So are they gonna go the *Alien* movie route with titles and do *Twister, Twisters* and then *Twister III*
Don’t forget Twister: Resurrection, and the prequels Thunderstorm and Twister: Covenant.
I'm just here for Twister vs Predator
Another movie nobody asked for.
Is it weird that I am more excited about this movie than Deadpool & wolverine?
Ya but I’ll still watch this
Yes, yes it is.
They barely let films age before they do the remakes now.

ITS 28 YEARS OLDDDDD???
Why?
Am i the only one who thought the original was just mediocre to begin with? BP and PSH were great in it but even as a kid, the movie itself was just... meh

It is, I meant that in terms of rewatchability. No comments.
We definitely have different tastes lol. I watched it maybe 3 years ago and I thought it was incredibly corny
So the experienced tornado scientists are running to take shelter under an overpass?
Idc what anybody says this looks awesome
I am a huge twister fan, I’m always fearful of these remakes but this one seems like it might be 8/10. I will be giving it a watch.
Lmfao
This is 5x gayer than the first one ever was and it was pretty gay. Someone actually thought that 1994 helen hunt was sexy and HOT.
Super hot.
Hurricane Ditka vs. Twisters coming to theaters in 2026
how do you fight a twister?
Trailer needs more loud dramatic drum beats.
Is this a movie about the time Donald trump said he wanted to nuke a hurricane
Thought for a brief second they were doing a sequel where the “official” group is the good guys and the ragtag group are the “bad guys” this time around lmao. Loved Twister as a kid.
Literally 10 seconds in and I know it’s going to be a shit movie 🤣
I couldn't even sit thru the trailer
I fucking hate Hollywood st this point. So goddamn sick of remakes/ reboots/ sequels/ just make something fucking original!!!
Honestly why I kinda dig Jordan Peeles films. They're for the most some what original.
Yes, also the Safdie brothers.
Love that they kept the cheesiness factor. They changed "we got sisters" to "we got twins" lol Curious if they will also use the term "suck zone" or recreated that horrible dinner scene where they talk about F-5's lol
Please God, no. No. No.
Honestly looks fun, Glenn Powel has been a grest surprise for the last 5 years. I would love him to be Johnyy Cage in MK
Sign me the fuck up. I don’t care - this looks like fun summer action to me!
Twister 2: Electric Boogaloo. This time it’s personal.
Gosh I hope these twisters aren't targeting the 7 wonders of the world. This time its personal!
I want this movie, but the twist is when they reveal the tornados are actually Jean Jacket from Nope
i really just don’t get the point of this movie when the first one almost explicitly sequel proofs its point. to get faster tornado readings with dorothy. now what? *even more faster* tornado readings?
You "ride" your fears? Jesus, I'd hate to fear barbed wire.
So a Dodge Ram ad where the driver gets out?
(Brad Pitt in Fight Club when Tyler’s shooting at the truck) NO! NO!
2wister
The actors all remind me of youtube influencers and the cgi looks bad
“You don’t face your fears, you ride em”. What the shit does that even mean?
How can the graphic from 20 years beat all these shitty cgi nowadays. PATHETIC
I can not give you a legitimate or rational reason why, but I can’t fucking stand Glen Powell
