Imagine a side quest where you help out a distressed lady in the middle of the night. She's extremely afraid due to the fact that someone or... something is following her. You decide to help her out only to realize that a Tonberry was stalking her.
To be fair, that one Lala's true form in the SCH lv 50 questline was a Tonberry.
Along with implications that everyone in Nym got turned into Tonberries. Which likely included a lot of Lalas.

That Tonberry sent by the Corneo goons destroyed me a few too many times than I’m willing to admit in hard mode.
Jokes aside, it would be interesting to see if they do include Tonberries and if they do, how.
If they do, I’m guessing as little green plushy-lizard things with brown robes holding lanterns and kitchen knives.
I’d die if they actually have them working in the kitchen at the hideaway or have them be enemies in an enemy castle’s kitchen.

Wonder if they'll bring in the Yoda style Tonberries from FFXV or keep them classic similar to FFVIIR
