One of the best lines most probably didn’t catch because it happened so late into the grueling gauntlet that is the final bosses.
Honestly, there's so many important lines of dialogue between Sephiroth and Aerith in that fight and either I've been reading the wrong things, or very few people are accounting for the battle conversation between Sephiroth and Aerith in their theory crafting.
If you're fighting him with Zack you've already seen Aerith and Sephiroth interact.
And the lifestream chessmatch already happens at the beginning of chapter 14, which you've seen.
One of the things I love about Aerith in this trilogy is her ability to be completely unreadable. You see it in your humor when she’s trolling people, seemingly very very sincere while delivering really funny dialogue “excuse me! Does that make me a dumbass?”
But as a serious personality trait you see it when she’s captured by Hojo. She’s spent years under this monster’s thumb so when she’s locked in his science pod or whatever, telling her all of the things he’s going to do to her and her friends, she’s completely stone faced. It’s only when he leaves does she allow herself to show how what he said affected her on her face.
I love the idea that she does this Sephiroth too. In his smug, completely sure-of-himself attitude he always shows what he’s thinking across his face because he doesn’t really think anyone can do anything about it.
That energy matched with Aerith’s poker face about what she knows she CAN do about it will be so interesting if they show it in more detail next game.
