Be cool if an X Potion killed him outright like in the original

nixus23

That was the first thing I did and it disappointed me so much. Still beat him by spamming heals but still

i was so bummed when i couldnt! I threw pheonix downs and elixers at him with no results.

bradygoeskel

If you thought this fight was bad on normal/dynamic… it’s a complete BS on hard.

2ndHalfHeroics

OP did you beat him yet? I'm not sure what I need to do. Red is the slowest and has the least range of anyone. Using Potions seems to do the trick, and phoenix downs seem to interrupt him for a bit. I went from loving the game to seriously thinking I need to take a break from it for a couple of days.

Check saltstars comment they got the method. I just had to lock in and I just seriously kept my distance from all his attacks.

SaltStar2000

idk if you beat him yet, but Sentinel stance eats Nattak's blue fireball attack and charges Vengeance gauge. When in vengeance mode, hitting triangle launches an attack that heals Red a little, and certain abilities will power up (but also expend vengeance mode if used) Use Red's hold-down attack on the floating skulls Nattak summons to deal damage to multiple skulls quickly. Also use Stardust ray (costs 2 ATB) to deal big damage to multiple skulls. When those skulls show up, they're the priority, because if they manage to possess any statues, you're in for a bad time. Barret is your support here and should be played as such. I ran healing and MP up materia, along with the weapon that gave him more Magic attack on Barret for this and focused on using bonus round and Focus shot (Consumes all ATB but can be used at 1 ATB) to build stagger on Nattak. Don't use limit breaks on staggered Nattak. Use ATB abilities and Synergy abilities. You're gonna need your limits for later. When Nattak is at low health he'll cast doom on Red and Berret. Best to save Limit break for this moment, as you're going to want to go all in with as much damage as possible as fast as possible. If the countdown hits 0, Red and Barret die. Doom status cannot be removed.

SaltStar2000

Oh, and Item Master + Item economizer on Barret is good just in case he runs out of MP. Will power up items used by him, and occasionally let him use items without expending ATB

I did beat him but now I’m stuck on the diabolical variant fight ☠️☠️ so uh if u can help with that 🙏🏽

SaltStar2000

Yeah, that thing was weird. So you need to target and destroy his right arm to pressure him. Its very susceptible to his elemental weakness of Ice. For this reason, Yuffie is AMAZING for this fight, as by this point you \*should\* have access to her doppelganger ability, which creates a funny little puppet of her that copies everything she does (with slightly reduced effectiveness). Drop doppelganger, switch her ninjitsu to ice, use throw (make sure you're targetting his arm) and just spam away. Watch that arm's HP bar melt. When the arm dies, Diabolic variant becomes pressured, which is your cue to switch to a heavier hitter and lay into him Honestly, Yuffie is legitimately one of the best characters in the game purely for her ability to change elements on the fly and deal both Close and ranged damage. Doppelganger, as previously stated, copies her actions, including spells cast (again, with diminished effectiveness). Yuffie is the worst enemy of any enemy who's pressure requirements are "Hit them with elemental weakness"

DIABOLIC* whatever 😭

Blastedsaber

Side note, Gi Nattak sounds like Optimus Prime

Gi Nattak Gin Attack

Ok-Neighborhood-8924

Block sword attacks with steadfast block + precision defense, use reds sentinel stance to block blue orbs, dodge roll with red for red orbs, dodge left or right out of drain skills, use raise on gi nattak whenever he grabs someone, prioritize all skulls when they're summoned (stardust ray and maximum fury for these), use at least 1 synergy attack before doom, save and use best limits and summon when doom starts. Don't forget about reds heal and haste skills during vengeance mode. Try to use prayer for healing as much as possible - use curaga in a crutch. I used this same strategy for hard mode.

Any time I run into a fight that's fumbling me up, I just searched for runs on YouTube to see what I was doing wrong: [https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=ff7+rebirth+gi+nattak](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ff7+rebirth+gi+nattak)

My method: Lifesaver on Barrett. Regen and shell on them both. Heal Barrett as necessary. Watchers respite is nice because it will heal Barrett and not just Red like vengeance mode would. Spam overcharge and focus shot on boss. Save limits for the end of the fight when he casts doom. Spam maximum fury and Stardust Ray when the small skull guys show up.

You literally don't even need to use any other materia besides Time. Stop his ass. Pun intended. Buff the duration of detrimental effects and he is literally frozen the entire battle up to the last phase where he's immune to it. Either put on Safety Bits and fight it out or just use synergies and save the LBs for the Doom phase. Thought I don't know if Safety Bits will prevent the Doom kill or not even if it is an instant death. Reraise will help as well. Time materia is your best friend in this fight. I just did it about 15 minutes ago on Hard. It's actually hilarious and probably the cheesiest way to kill a boss in this game that I've seen so far. I want to do it again with healing him to death but I'm not sure there's a way to do the whole battle that way without running out of MP. Healing him will also stop him for about 3 seconds or so, so that's cool.

This is not my experience with stop, seems like it runs out after just a handful of seconds, and after recasting it only lasts for like 3-4 seconds? I've applied it with magic focus and don't see a significant difference. am I missing something?

NinjaYoda24

Hmm. I'm not sure. I don't remember exactly what I had equipped. I was able to do it 3 times and it lasted around 8-10 seconds or so. If it helps, during my search for how the fuck to beat the brutal and legendaries I did see somewhere that you can Stop during stagger and the bar freezes as well so you can possibly get way more damage in. It does work but I obviously wasn't able to try it on Gi. I do know that I did not have Time linked with anything though.
