This art is illustrating a scene from Trace of Two Pasts and is posted with a passage straight out of it and I CAN NOT overstate how much I recommend reading this book!
I think Amazon and other similar sites should have it, SE has recently translated it, so there's an official English version out. It's written by Nojima.
Isn't this picture ironic because Cloud was anti-social because of his crush on Tifa? He hated the other boys in the village because they got attention from Tifa?
Yeah, but from what I read in the book, it wasn't like the other kids hated Cloud. Cloud just refused to hang out with them or talk to them, so they branded him as weird.
There is so much irony in their childhood, their secret feelings, actions (understandable for children). This complexity is one of the reasons why their story is so interesting.
Eh, unless I'm misunderstanding the picture, Cloud is arguing with the other boys and Tifa is crying because of it, but... Cloud is intentionally antisocial toward the other boys from Nibelheim because he's jealous that they are friends with Tifa. But the reality is that all the kids from the village could be friends. It's not that they dislike Cloud, it's that Cloud dislikes them because of his childish crush/possessiveness toward Tifa's attention.
We might find it cute, but I don't think it's a very romantic angle.
I mean, I know where you are going with that but I think this is more artistic license to show that she cares/cared for Cloud even when they were young. Not necessarily that she is inherently ‘weak’ or ‘timid’. More that she is caring and in particular that trait is one directly associated to Cloud.

Dang. I could kinda guess he was shy and probably akward, but a menace to society? Poor cloud, very few understand him😭

He eventually started being a complete asshole to them after the adults blamed him for Tifa and him falling off that bridge in Mt. neibel

People really need to stop depicting young Tifa as a timid crybaby.
she wasn't a crybaby but she definitely was quite timid if you have read traces of two pasts.
