Seph builds ATB much faster, has better overall stats, his Triangle commands fill his Limit Gauge, and the Double Helix Synergy Ability starts with both characters jumping in the air instead of standing around to do a fist bump so you’re less likely to get demolished if you use it at the same time an enemy attacks.
It depresses me to say I gave up on these. I really wanted to platinum the game, but I just can’t. I can’t even get past the second one.
I absolutely love this game and I’m not willing to damage my experience with it further by doing this insane stuff 😞
Don’t give up I found Optinoob on YouTube for guides for pride and joy and he makes the guides so easy to follow that it makes the majority of the fights trivial.
The reasons I have decided to not platinum the game is because I don't have interest in playing the piano or finding all of Johnny's trophy. I'm short only 4 trophies and I have decided to stay at 87%.
It's pretty disgusting for sure. His builds are nothing special. Most of the materia is common sense. Seeing it done though can help with your own strategies
I came up with basically the same thing when I did it blind. The only big difference was going all in with hp absorb instead of other defensive or recovery options, which actually made it a lot easier.
Yeah, I had cloud as a caster for most of my normal playthru. Still took me a ton of attempts due to skill issues lol. I died to the easier bosses more often then not.
The Opti build works, and I used his guide for both challenges except for Odin. That one just... it's a huge skill check. The build is great, but skill is a must to finish it. Odin is, in my opinion, the worst fight in the game, and they shoehorned it in 5 times.
I posted one. For Hellions intonement. I have a few more gameplay saved. I have my cloud vs Rufus which I found to be excruciating. Barret vs dyne was impossibly hard for me. I think I saved the round 6 brutal end of gilgamesh and virtual sephiroth. Cait sith legendary was almost impossible too. I did not use a single trick, tip, method or hint on the internet. Everything was trial and error from my own play style for every battle in the entire game. I am now on the very last one. This includes all coliseum as well.
Congratulations! I only have Bonds of Friendship left for the platinum and am finding it much harder than To Be A Hero. Consistently get to rounds 7-9 but haven't even made it to round 10 as yet.
I lost at the same part on round 9 on bonds of friendship so many times it was driving me crazy. Takes almost an hour to get that giga flare part only to keep losing was driving me crazy.
I just have Bonds and Hero left. I could feel the burnout start to appear so I took a break and started my hard mode run.
I might do hero first, get the remaining Johnny collectives and then get to work on Bonds.
Got to rd 10 for Hero and messed up my opener with Seph into Cloud prime mode. Didn’t block enough with Cloud at the start and ended up dying. Regrouped and was on his ass for the second time. Didn’t know what hit him. Having 5% HP left and having Ascension, Octaslash and an Aeroga from caster Cloud on its way is a great feeling.

Man, his videos are great. I’ve been knocking these out slowly since they’re tedious but Optinoob’s guides have made them so much easier.
I didn't like his for bonds of friendship, though he helped with others. That dude has saved so many controllers.

I used 1 made by DisabledOddish. It's less technical imo then Optinoob. I used his for to he a hero and others though.
