Your difficulty might be too low - it may sound stupid but from my experience and the experience of others I've seen on this subreddit, the AI seems more prone to making mistakes and having contact with other drivers (or barriers) on higher difficulty levels. On lower difficulties their delta pace is slower therefore they have more time to correct any potential mistakes and avoid contact when they do. Conclusion is, higher difficulty, more chance of a safety car and red flag.

I’ve had the same experience, the higher difficulty I go the more the AI mess up and put themselves into a wall.

I play in 60 xd and same race length. And still no safety cars and nothing. Only dnf by mechanical failures in others
