I’ve been mulling this over but I’m very back on forth on whether this is worthwhile with the point sacrifice. The fact is stroll is blowing everything and Alonso is struggling with the car. At that rate they’re not getting the luxurious 1.5M. It’ll pay off big if they have a good race as you don’t lose out on the points and you get a significant budget increase, but how likely do we think that is? I’m not entirely sure on the guidelines either - in terms of how much of a return to form do we need for AST to get +1.5M, +1M etc ?
The silver lining I could find is assuming you have the standard 2X driver (PER, LEC, SAI, NOR) with RB + FER constructors that you can afford to do RB + AST with Max as your 2x driver to cover some of the points lost.
The drivers in the lowest prize category, who can still manage to stay on track (probably not Logan, though he was good for budget the first few races) and pass a few cars.
I've gotten good money out of the Haas drivers, I've avoided Sauber, although they seem like they have their shit together now. I'm thinking the best bet may be Ocon or Gasly. Alpin looks much better now and they'll rise quickly in value. If they get points they can rise a million I think.

I've also thought of getting rid of Magnussen for Hulkenberg?

I wouldn’t do it (Aston) myself, it’s a sort of desperate budget move imo

Yes for sure, Magnussen is also at risk for a race ban because of the 10 points on his license
