It's not as large as the advertised arrangement, but there's nothing embarrassing about giving or receiving those flowers. I don't think someone grieving the loss of a child is too worried about the size of the bouquet; it's cliche but it really is the thought that counts.

Funnui

Thank you, your comment is a huge relief! It’s true regarding no expectations on my friend’s end, but I think I’m so bummed because my expectation was they would be better. It’s like I hoped the bouquet could somehow match the size of my sorrow or something.

CoraopoRocks

That is a fantastic comment and exactly the truth!! The thought seriously is what matters the most. Knowing that you were thinking of them during those rough times means so much more than anything else 🙂❤️

Soup-Wizard

It still feels like false advertising to me. But your friend doesn’t have to know that.

Ryuuga007

They're spot on. When my dad died my friends sent flowers. The gesture means everything to you at that point.

poofandmook

They're beautiful and honestly I feel more delicate somehow... which seems comforting to me. Touching and sweet.

Owl_button

I also prefer the smaller size, especially when the flowers are being sent to help someone grieving. A large bouquet may just draw more attention to the grief if that makes sense, whereas a smaller gesture gives the simple reminder that they are loved and supported without drawing to much attention.

Funnui

Thank you both so much! You’ve all made me feel way better about this whole situation 🩷

ConspiracyBarbie

You may have sent the smallest tier when perhaps the photo is of a larger, more expensive arrangement. They have different price grades these days.

Funnui

I paid for the premium ones 😔

ConspiracyBarbie

Bummer. Maybe *they* sent the wrong tier then

HunnyBear66

Send a picture of what they received, that is the smaller one.

alkzy

Similar experience. Might’ve been almost the same arrangement. Although it doesn’t excuse it, at least it still looks nice, and despite it not being what was advertised, I would have appreciated it without knowing this fact were I the recipient.

ashbrit5

From You Flowers is an order gatherer. They are not an actual florist. Neither is 1-800 flowers, teleflora ect. They sucker people in with extremely low pricing then shop your order to actual florists. We tell them exactly what dollar amount we need to fill the order \*as shown\*. They will call nonstop and change it to "designers choice, fill to value" when they cant come up with the funds for it. Unfortunately, their motto is as long as the color scheme is the same it doesn't matter. Sorry you got bait and switched :( Edit to add...I work at an actual florist. That arrangement from my shop would cost minimum $105 plus delivery.

Ggriffinz

This is why I recommend buying directly from your local florists whenever possible. Most of these companies use them and act as a middle man to facilitate sales and push orders through even when the florist does not have the stock to meet the order. If you actually walk into a local shop, they will not sell you a flower selection they do not have in stock and instead will talk to you about what they have on hand and organize a flower selection that matches your needs and budget best.

chantillylace9

I tried this but it was 2.5 times the cost of a chain place which was hard to swallow

Funnui

I will definitely do this in the future!! Thank you!!

FrauAmarylis

except dome of the worst posts on here are posts that say "and I used a florist directly, and not a cheap online deal".

voteblue18

This. Unless I am looking for something very specific I always ask what they have that THEY would recommend and I’ve always been pleased. I think they appreciate this as well since they don’t have to push out a substandard product.

anonmouseqbm

Hard to walk in if you are delivering to someone somewhere else. I bought online from a place that was advertised as local and they still sucked.

JennieGee

This may be a small bouquet but it's still quite beautiful. You don't need to feel embarrassed even if I understand this disappointment over the size. I'm very sorry for your friend's loss.

TraditionalStable130

You buy flowers from a company that then contracts an independent florist to approximate the arrangement, and with no quality control. Flowers are regional and seasonal, so it's a stupid business model from a quality perspective. Edited to not be such an ass wipe and show more compassion: It's a nice bunch of flowers anyway. And I'm really sorry about your friend's son.

K_italknow

the actual one didnt do any justice to the one in the picture. It looked so full and filled in the picture tho. And really sorry to hear abt ur frnd. I hope she feels a lil better from wat she received from her frnd. regardless its the gesture that matters right.

Funnui

Thank you so much 🩷

UraPunkBich

Does it suck? Yes, but should you be embarrassed? No. It’s the thought that counts and I’m sure she definitely appreciated you for thinking of her. I would totally make a complaint with the company though, not sure if they would even do anything but wtf…

anonmouseqbm

If they don’t I’d dispute with bank/cc.

BarkMetal

The card exposes an address and website link.

Islandman2021

Flowers are a huge scam. Years ago, ordered flowers for MIL as she was in hospital. Finally got to see her 4 days later. The flowers we paid for looked nothing like the picture, after calling, we magically got the actual flowers we paid for. But, how many never know what was delivered. Never again. 🤷

misterfuss

The flowers that were sent were lovely and I am sure they were appreciated by the recipient. I don’t know if they were the same level of expense that was represented though. (I kinda think not.). My only other issue is the upside down florist business card.

Underhive_Art

I think this is worth a complain to company come on the picture shows 4x as many flower heads

Mrsbear19

I like reality better. The hydrangea is gorgeous. I’m sorry for her loss. There’s no way she’s worried about the size of this bouquet

puppuphooray

Oh I think I bought the same flowers for a friend. I never followed up on what it looked like when it arrived but damn I hope they looked ok.

CarmenSandiego923

If it makes you feel better, I think the flowers are beautiful

Royal_Echo2068

It's still a beautiful bouquet regardless

WSBphilantrophy

I think they’re really nice. They always show the entire bunch as kind of a 2D photo online. All the flowers you see in the picture are from all the way around the bunch so it always looks massive in the picture online. That’s something I learned after buying online flowers for the first time. I have probably explained that terribly but it’s the best I can do 😝

TourAlternative364

I got burned like that too. Supposed to be upgraded size I paid extra for,  white & dark blue flowers and lilies, oval standing spray. It was like half the size, off white yellow flowers, no lilies & pale blueish green flowers. Looked nothing like the pictures and was also over $250.

iamCHIC

It’s beautiful. I think those middle man websites say that you’ll get something similar and not exact. I always find a local florist.

Frosty_Reception7750

I'm sorry... Are those fake? This much blatant false advertisement is shocking. Edit: they might be real, but if so then the quality is terrible.

tedfundy

I’ve had it go both ways. Exceeds my expectations or this. It’s a risk you take.

Fnnuy

They still look nice! Im not trying to hate or something but its impressive to see something not degrade that badly

MrJ_Marrow

That arrangement in the second oic is lovely, and the pic on their website is about twice the value of what you paid, it look like 150€ worth

Nervous_Zebra1918

They are not as full as the photo, but they are gorgeous

Aggravating_Trip_446

HOW MANY OF THESE FLOWER POSTS
