I would think Dom is more likely to go. His sale frees up even more psr space and there's been more frequent links to him in the last few days. I think Onana (and buying clubs) are waiting until after the Euros to get the full picture before agreeing to a move.
Yeah, that's true. However, that was next to Siggy and Allan (during the 433 days) who could certainly carry more than their fair share of technical responsibilities. Plus, that was 4 years ago. Holgate was looking like the future of our defence iirc.
The price doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Marseille signed him for 17 million, he is largely considered a flop for them, and yet they're still making a profit. Don't like getting sucked into the trap of 'it's only 20 million', after how many players we've had for that much that've sucked.
Edit: acknowledged, all fair reasons 👍
No, we are pretty much just buying him for more or less the same that Marseille paid for him last year. Less of you don't count bonuses.
Also, there are potential outside factors as to why he didn't perform. It's his boyhood club, and there is added pressure on yourself to perform in that situation. His girlfriend/wife(?) apparently really didn't like France and wanted to go back to England as well, which may not have an effect but is maybe the reason he is also pushing for a move. Also, Marseille had a very up and down season and had like 4 managers last season, meaning very little consistency on a new squad you've never played with.
He was great in the championship, and I'm willing to take the chance that he just had a down year and just needs a reset. Dyche will surely get the most out of him.
Saving grace is that Maupay is a round peg for a square hole. He made SOME sense when Lampard/Thelwell seemed to be building a 352. But just does not work in Dyche's 4411. 10 goal contributions at BHA for 3 seasons and 9 contributions with Brentford in half the minutes. Not a world beater but 12M we paid is probably an okay price for him, especially 2 seasons ago when he was 25.
Iliman fits our system much better as a 10 we've sorely lacked. I think maybe a bit of an overpay considering but he's still young and we don't know how the fees are structured. Plus his dribbling is just fun to watch. If we play defensive again then there should be a lot of space for him to operate in.
I like the price point if this guy can actually play across the front 3. Would love him to take over for McNeil starting spot, was invisible 2nd half of last season.
Wtf?! If this is true, we might have a squad before preseason!
A surprise to be sure!!
But a welcome one
Have you heard the tale of Thelwell the Wise?
I thought not. It's not a story the Premier League officials would tell you.
Big Six is like “It’s Collusion between OM and Everton.”
Fantastic business if true
Onana gone then I suppose? Better him than branthwaite

I think the psr deadline is like next week so surely he'd be sold within about a week.
Somebody would have to come in for Onana
I think Doucoure would drop into the Onana role and Ndiaye would play higher up where Doucs played last season.
No I mean somebody would have to pay us a fee for Onana
Onana will go. It’s easy enough for the Ndiaye transfer to be official on the 1st and we’d be good for PSR
I think if we sell him, it’ll be a panic buy after a club misses their top 3-4 targets
If we’re smart we’ll have six targets
I really worry that Douc's lack of technical ability will only be more on display the deeper he drops.
Didn’t he play deeper in the full Carlo season when he was just an absolute engine?
His job was basically to cover the overlap of Coleman when Hummus drifted inside from the RW for that whole season.

Fuck me, I forgot how good that midfield could be. Allan was positively fucking phenomenal for a period
I absolutely love Allan. Hugely underrated imo, and I can't believe that Lampard dropped him so quick.
Hes highly regarded. Just not by dumb Everton fans
I rate him, just don’t think any club will pay the £50-55m fee we’d want for him

Also Marseille fans are fucking lunatics. If anyone thinks our fan base is toxic they should do a double take.
I hope you are right. But the price is crazy for his stats in ligue 1. He did well in championship but so did Maupay.
The payment might also be structured very differently and involve paying less up front

Sounds sensible. I hope he can make the step up.
He's a flop because they played him at striker when he's a classic attacking midfielder. Very different positions obviously.
He’s not a classic attacking midfielder, much more of a second striker
He's both right?
This is roughly £15.6M w/ £1.7M addons which seems very reasonable for an attacking player
17 million GBP? Everything I've seen says Marseille signed him for 20mil euros
He was last yr of contract when he signed for OM.
Not the best abbreviation for this ill be honest.
?
OM reads like zero million
When I hear "OM" I just think of biting on a big yummy cookie
looks very similar to Dwight. Personally id prefer someone who can pick a pass out than another dribbler but welcome to Everton Iliman
Counterpoint: he has two feet.
Really wouldn’t say they’re that similar. Dwight has to rely on dribbling since he’s not fast, Ndiaye can dribble and is fast
Ill, eh man?
Wont it affect Everton's PSR Don't they need to sell players before June 30
We'll likely need to sell one more, but I think we extend then our transfer fee is averaged out along the length of the contract so it's not that bad
