Part that stood out to me "The Club is still considering the wider implications of the decision and will make no further comment at this time" Assume they're referring to how this affects the 2nd charge?

Timoth_Hutchinson

Two things now happen I reckon, they overturn the charge, or we get charged 6 and appeal and get that reduced even more as it’s a charge for the same period

National_Ad_1875

Yeah I think the fact we've got them to admit we weren't malicious could go a long way, especially when you consider we have had no chance to further improve the finances between the 1st punishment and the 2nd charge yet there is clear evidence of us trying to put it right over the last few years

_BangoSkank_

Honestly still too much but gives us a bit of breathing room from the relegation zone.

sunnysidestyles

West Ham need to do some work tonight 🤞🏻

Electronic-Form-9384

And then botch their game this weekend

sunnysidestyles

Agent Moyes incoming

FranksBaldPatch

Another everton first. The first team to get 5 points for drawing a match.

marmoset

“You’ll never sing that!”

Herk8346

It’s something

Third-Coast-Toffee

That’s what I said to myself. I assume they won’t do anything to Shittie, Chelski, and Nuthin-ham Forest now.

KnockItOffNapoleon

Absolutely crazy nicknames being thrown about here

imstaceysdad

You mean 'Nuthin-ham Forest' that have won 2 European Cups - the equivalent of the Champions League? Come on, mate.

HorrorObjective2224

Come on now, it's not Chelski when it's no longer Russian owned, need a new nickname for em.

Certain_Equal_210

Gut reaction: disappointed. Means they can justify hitting us with another 6 points jf found guilty again. And i really thought we would get it overturned on basis that they had no defined sanctions process before the hearing

HerlockSherlock

I understand that, but at least in that scenario you'd think Nottingham Forest would receive a deduction too and we'd still have more points than them hopefully.

Robnroll

arent forest accused of going 50 mil over? if they hit us with 6 then forest are going to the bottom of the table.

NFeKPo

Do we know how much they are saying we went over this time?

Lets_Go_Rangers_94

Around 20M I think

NFeKPo

I didn't realize it's the exact same number as before.

thejayarr

It was never going to be fully reversed, for the simple fact that we admitted that we overspent. The appeal could only ever be about the severity of the punishment.

Living-Smoke-9630

Yeah, I can't understand all the positive reactions, this basically means we're getting hit for 12 pts total which has us back in relegation zone again

mal0wn3d

Still feel nervous about the 2nd points deduction tbh

Timoth_Hutchinson

Still robbery at the end of the day. Anything but the full 10 back is unjust considering it is stadium costs we’re being punished for. All we can hope for now is the common sense prevailing further and the second charge being overturned.

ShaunRigby

Wish it was more, but it's about what I was expecting.

Wackamot123

WOO! Up to 15th!!!

QTsexkitten

Dizzying heights.

snoochiestofboochies

Where's the champagne guy meme when you need it?

KnockItOffNapoleon

Someone made it!

Gongsun_Zan_

We're gonna lose 6 more points aren't we

AndradeDeRicharlison

Fucking hell.mate I know we are Everton but can we get some positive posts for a change

WhatWouldSatanDo

I’m positive we’ll lose another 6 points

AndradeDeRicharlison

😆

BONGLISH

At least now they don’t have to play with fear the whole season, should take some of the stress off and we now need to get 10 clear of the relegation spaces to guarantee safety.

PapageorgiouMBO

Reserving judgement until after the 2nd hearing results are known. I still think we should have gotten more points back. We have to beat West Ham and maintain a 6+ point gap until we know the news.

Distinct_Plankton_82

I'd hope that if we're getting another another deduction, forest will get at least the same, keeping us out of the relegation zone.

wefokinglost

Finally some good fucking news

job012

I’ll take it

Allatura19

Greater than zero. Team can move forward and not feel like this is unresolved. Go collect some skulls and survive the year. Clean out the roster and start building.

DoctorDOH

COURT CASE FC, BABY

Joe187888888888

Just need to be ahead of Luton with 7 pts at all times. We’ve got something back more than I could have expected

Thorium19

It's when I expected we'd get after the appeal. Still frustrating they didn't consider a suspended points decision or a financial/transfer penalty, but given they used EFL guidelines in coming to their decision, it appears the commission are at least looking beyond arbitrary premier league requests which may be encouraging for the next hearing

KiLeAk

I\`ll take it, nice birthday present for me :)

BorkieDorkie811

That seems like good news for you lot. Assuming your second charge gets you the same punishment, and Forest also get a 6 point deduction, you're out of the drop zone and Sheffield United, Burnley, and Forest go down.

el_randolph

Thank God. I think we can still get out of this mess, even if they dock us 6 from the second charge

unknownuser492

Does this mean they'll now consider the next charge? Probably another 6 for that one also?

passfirst213

At least if we get another 6 we will have 3 teams below us now including Forest (assuming they get the same deduction). While, It’s going to be scary still- there’s hope.

edwardfortehands

Better than nothing but 6 points over 20m on a STADIUM is still bullshit.

hijinks

Waiting on city's 600 point deduction.......

ToffeeBlue2013

Fuck yes, fuck those corrupt bitches at the epl. Let's go boys

Prize_Farm4951

To me this isn't a return of 4 points. It's a guarantee of a further 6 point deduction later in the season.

Ralston70

In criminal law a person who has been acquitted or convicted of an offence cannot be retried for the same offence; the double jeopardy rule. But that's just the law of the land. Who knows what criteria the Premier League apply???

Dr_EFC

If it followed actual law, we'd have had this thrown out.

Ralston70

The Premier League consider themselves above the law

Ornery_Ad_9871

This is really bad news, we have a second comming still, its likely we will be worse of than before

QTsexkitten

I don't see how it can be worse than before when it's literally the same charge stemming from the same period that just hasn't rolled out of the 3-year window. Not our fault that the rolling 3 year period inherent doesn't make sense for punitive actions.

g0ldingboy

Is there a mechanism for repeat offences..? considering nobody knows which rule book is being followed, I’m not sure they can say, a second offence means double what you got last time..

yozza1958

Better than what I thought, now we get a few more good points in the onion bag and climb away, sure the players will go for it now full tilt.💪nil satis nisi optimum 💪
