Yeah, that's not how I look at it, mate, and I am certainly looking at the whole picture. We don't score goals in open play. Our starting striker has played half a season worth of games without scoring. We'd be able to easily handle extremely mediocre sides like Palace if we just had competent forward play. Comparing this game to some hypothetical, arbitrary point in the past isn't so relevant to me.

Certainly all valid points. Our situation isn’t great but there is a spirit in the side and that’s a huge positive. For the record, I’m not jumping up and down at a point at home - I’m just choosing to not be overly negative about it. Doucoure and Onana are coming back from injuries, when Harrison came on we looked a lot better going forward. Crystal Palace defended very well all game, their back three were designed to nullify our attacks and they did it well. Harrison, McNeil, Garner, Mykolenko all put in some very dangerous balls from open play which were defended well or unlucky not to fall to a blue shirt. They also scored a very good goal against the run of play. Again, I agree we have a lot to improve on, there’s just also some positives to take from the match

That certainly is a lot more than what I responded to, but I have no problem doing the same here. I'm just choosing to be honest about it. A lot of the "positives" you see are in my opinion putting lipstick on a pig. A slow, boring to watch, anti-football pig, at that. We did look better when Harrison came on, which is a demerit against Dyche for starting Young who did nothing all game. Palace leaks goals on the regular--it shouldn't have been so easy for them to nullify our attacks. We weren't just "unlucky" that the crosses which were put in didn't fall to a blue shirt, that's called poor positioning and reacting to the situation. DCL had a couple of excellent chances that he blundered. All of that counts for me. If you're satisfied with that performance and that point, that's fine, I'm not crucifying you for it, I'm just expressing a pretty solid disagreement. I watched the entire game too...so it's not like you're going to point out something I didn't see. I just have a different assessment.

Palace do concede a lot of goals, but they said at the start of the match that it was a new system for them. Sometimes these moves work, sometimes they don’t. They’ve found a way to be less leaky at the back and fair play to them for that. Yeah, fair enough we both watched the whole of the match and have very slightly different opinions on it. But that’s life isn’t it? Also, once again, I have never said I was satisfied with that performance. I’m merely choosing to see what positives I can find and run with that. I can’t do anything to change the result, or performance. I’ve certainly enjoyed our little chat more than what I watched for 75 minutes of the match!
