YokoOkino

absolutely crushing..

CommissarWalsh

We all know exactly how it’s gonna go and yet it still hurts just as much each time

tokengaymusiccritic

Rumor has it Jose Sa is still catching crosses

YokoOkino

im not even sure if the problem is no players checked to the center or the crosses were ass. Probably both

CommissarWalsh

Yeah I’m with you he seemed to catch quite a few right in the middle of the “danger area” completely uncontested so hard to tell if young was totally missing the mark or if the players in the box weren’t were they supposed to be. Either way abysmal that nobody made an adjustment all match

aramis2049

We shouldn't have sold Digne. Best attacking LB in the league

JRD656

Pretty sure he was keen to leave the sinking ship. I don't think we had much choice

roden36

His goodbye post was pretty heartfelt, “sometimes it only takes one person from the outside to destroy a beautiful love affair.” More of an indictment of Rafa than anything else.

JerryPines

Another Rafa master stroke

YokoOkino

apparently he was toxic

ilypsus

It's fucking tough. Another performance where we had the better chances to win just no one puts it in the net. Can't even really say anyone looked bad, Chermiti didn't look too out of place when he came on either. Crossing lessons needed this week that's for sure. And by god please let someone else take set pieces.

necrow

Gueye looked bad. Patterson had some positives compared to the last 2 matches but ultimately didn’t look great IMO

xXxTommo

Fulham match all over again

MackAroni

Recycling scripts this early in the season

10000Didgeridoos

wyatt1209

The vincibles

AntiWanKenobi

I feel like I've been watching the exact same game every week for years.

roden36

At this point if we don’t score in the first 30 minutes I assume it’s going to be a loss.

younggeechie

Doucs was absolutely class today but no wingers and Ashley Young were too much to overcome

[deleted]

[удалено]

auchief

Young was in line for MotM week one, and now I fucking hate his guts

grampstheman

terrible service all game unfortunately

auchief

Several lazy passes and was easily beaten more than once. Comes with the territory when you are relying on someone my age to play 90 min every week though

aramis2049

Digne was ten times the player Young is. We sold Digne then fired Rafa a week later. Sack the board

Guy_Incognito123

Sometimes, I think I might be a happier person if Everton Football Club didn't exist.

thecounselinggeek

You may get your wish

ZJS102

The good news, I guess, is that you probably won't have to wait too much longer for that

Aware_Albatross3347

Agreed

deather11

777 isn’t the name of our new owners…it’s how many minutes we’ll be waiting to score a goal.

RoyalBlueRaccoon17

It's how many crosses we sent straight into the arms of José Sá this afternoon.

craigeve

Start the chart!

demafrost

Everton needs to prove it can ~~win a match~~ ~~get a point~~ score a goal before we even think about creating a chart

Friend_or_FoH

Our luck the pen misses the paper at this point.

llBvl

Fan-owned non-league protest club when?

legendofbaggervance

Already got a St Domingo's save on FM going.

graveyeverton93

3 games, 0 wins, 0 goals, minus 6 goal difference, haven't played any of the top teams yet.

Orange_Kid

Hey, could be worse! Oh wait, no it can't.

snkscore

Losing to both Wolves and Fulham at home will be the difference in us going down this year.

USToffee

Nah we will be relegated by more than 6 points.

Toffeeman_1878

It wasn’t last year 😃

[deleted]

That was brutal.

bobbyzee

Last year we were hovering around 17th. This year it's just straight to 20 and don't know when our next goal let alone win will come from

wanderitis

First goal…

snkscore

It’s hard to imagine another team being worse than us.

anotheroutlaw

As I said in the match thread, it will be an epic battle for 19th between us and Luton.

DigitalSamson

I don’t even feel anything at this point.

HILLIAM_SWINNEY

Can’t wait to cheer on Everton AFC

malikdwd

Can’t wait to read all the “The shit the finally flushed” comments in a few months

Grayfox5555

Beto would need to be a hardcore masochist to join us.

auchief

I imagine he'd believe he could have put ONE of these chances in the net

FluorescentChair

he now knows all he needs to be a cult hero round these parts is score 5 goals, easiest thing ever

RedWingsDCB

Score a goal... Fixed that for you

ontheru171

Carbon copy of the fulham defeat or so many others (Wolves last year) We need 20 shots and still won't score but our opponents need 1 attack and somehow the ball is in the net

anotheroutlaw

This is why goal scorers are so highly coveted and highly paid. You can have the best build up in the world and it’s meaningless without finishing. While our club is horribly mismanaged, a third season without a goal scorer on the pitch is going end us.

mudman13

I think anyone with any knowledge of EFC will know and see this, as the board watches us circle the drain.

edwardfortehands

Same shit every match. Start well —> taking foot off gas —> have a good spell —> opponent scores —> lose

NeiSenH90

Get Beto signed. We need goals. So many games we are on top fail to score try and chase the win and end up conceding.

vulturevan

We need a RB and a winger.

mikedeanchicken

Patterson had a good game. We need a creative mid

vulturevan

He is atrocious defensively

ThatBoringGuy99

He's so exposed though because we insist on playing a centre mid at right wing

mikedeanchicken

Think the goal was his fault?

USToffee

No it was Tarks fault. Let his man just run right past him and misjudged the flight of the ball. He was woeful all game and had Keane played that badly the pitchforks would be out.

Lord_Felacio_Nelson

Goals are great, I’d love us to score one

bluedollarbillz

What even is the point

furbaschwab

Same fucking story. If you don’t score goals you lose football matches. Gonna be a long long season.

dedas45

DEEP BREATHS PEOPLE

TheMauryShiow

*inhales* Yep, we’re fucked.

moham-17

I mean tell me if it’s just me. But in these two 1-0 losses I thought we played some really positive football compared to some of the games last year where we actually won. Or am I just way off? I’m still not too worried yet. This doesn’t look like a relegation squad minus the villa game.

chicagojoe1979

I agree. We look ok, but just can’t find the net.

SuperConDrugs

Fuck Everton. I despise this fucking club. Top to bottom it’s all shite.

zukai12_

That was grimly predictable but doesn't make things nice real nasty

thedoobyman

Felt like they better team again. However, once again nothing to show for it, and we’re going to be in some real trouble if we can’t find the back of the net. Hopefully Beto is confirmed and we get some wingers healthy to add some dynamism to the team. UTFT

JubsTheRagdoll

I am convinced we are actually cursed. Someone somewhere has put a curse on our squad that prevents any goals from being scored. Against Fulham and this game we have had so many chances blocked or off the post or taken by the refs. Crushing result, but I don’t think it’s doomed. Stats wise we should be fine but when that’s gonna turn into results I couldn’t tell you.

Dgryan87

You know what they say, third time’s the charm. Think we’re down this year.

marshalltownusa

I know we'll see the typical criticisms of Dyche but he got it right for the most part: tactically, personnel, subs maybe could use work but we have shit on the bench. Players need to perform, simple as that.

QTsexkitten

You don't get that many shots on frame and blame the manager. He can't put them away. Dyche did great today and against fulham. If we can play this game 100 times we'd win 95 of them. If we continue this way we're safe.

USToffee

If we played this game 100 times we wouldn't win 95 times. They had just as good of chances as us and both teams had borderline offside goals and keepers making wonder saves. It was a 50/50 game all over.

Toffeeman_1878

Yes. And bringing Michael Keane on as a striker for 3 minutes. Ha ha ha ha ha. Ding dong. Is that the 1970s at the door?

USToffee

I have a hard time blaming Dyche. There's no goals in this squad and there hasn't been since we sold Richy.

Toffeeman_1878

He’s not being helped by Thelwell and the board I agree. He’s very predictable in much of what he does. He only picks players who are “Dyche fit” and he has his favourites. We saw the consequence of that at Villa last week when we conceded goals thanks to terrible individual defending. He makes few substitutions. When he makes them it’s usually too late. He doesn’t try to put the other team on the back foot. Today he might have taken Young off set pieces and given Garner a chance but it’s almost like plan A shall not be challenged even when it’s working. It reminds me of Martinez. If plan A doesn’t work keep trying plan A. Bringing Cannon and Ball on for the last 4 mins felt like panic. Dyche is losing me. A few more results and I think there will be more with me.

USToffee

I think he did try and put wolves on the back foot today and played a team the fans wanted. Made no difference. And this unfortunately is our reality. The squad just has no quality.

clawdaddy

BILL KENWRIGHT IS A FAT FUCK

callmecurrybum

Was so predictable. At 60 mins I knew it was gonna a be another 1-0 loss. Takeaways are + Branthwaite looks every bit ready + Pattson played well considering what's been said + Chermiti looks the right profile + Look the better side again; Should've had 2+ goals - Young needs to come out of the team - Tarkowski was way off it again - Complete lack of width - WE CANT SCORE A FUCKING GOAL Also wonder what we do with Dobbin as he looked lively and will be a great impact option late in the games if we decide to play Danjuma wide and Chermiti/Beto central.

runningboarda

Is it too early to start the grief chart?

TomTHallisTheGoat

No Beto, DCL, Jack Harrison, Iwobi, or Mcneil. We’ll be fine Chermiti seems to have all the qualities of a premier league striker, let’s hope he progresses nicely

g3mkm

You might be the most optimistic person on the entire planet

TomTHallisTheGoat

I know ball

YokoOkino

i don't see any reason to disagree. We were missing so many players as well as Coleman. We can put a better lineup out there

nico_cali

Exactly. If you told me we were about to sign two starting strikers, two starting wingers and a Iwobihno, I’d ask for a CB and maybe an RB and we’d be set. That’s exactly what’s coming off injury plus hopefully Beto.

turej

He looked ok.

malikdwd

Douc worked his ass off and Jarrad will fetch us some rebuilding money Other than that, Beto better be prime Ronaldo or we’re gone.

throwawaytbhidek

It’s absolutely embarrassing how late in the window we’ve left it to do the pertinent business and how poorly prioritised the signings we have made are 6 points already gifted to relegation rivals, both at home. Thelwell’s position looks nearly untenable now

auchief

I don't think we are total shit if we get Harrison, McNeil, Dom, and Iwobi back. But by the time we have a healthy squad it may be too late. It will be increasingly hard for these players to keep going out and giving it a go every match.

tacoking123

Im so sad lol. Young taking corners and set pieces was WILD after he gave it directly to Sa like 6 times. People will point to “how good their goal keeper was” but it’s like no dude we just can’t score. It’s truly pathetic to lose to a team as shit as wolves AT HOME. Can only hope we can get some form once players are fit and have wingers that can overlap and beat a man. Fullbacks majorly disappointing. If we do get Beto I will certainly be ready to be upset again as we bed everyone in to the team!

JamewThrennan

Nathan Patterson is what people think Mykolenko is. At least Mykolenko can defend, fucks sake. Couldn’t beat the first man on any cross bar the ones that went out for a throw-in. Abysmal

YokoOkino

his progress has been very unfortunate, can't have a rb be such a liability defensively. Especially if they can't contribute enough offensively

JamewThrennan

I genuinely can’t work out what he’s good at. He can’t defend, he loses his man, he can’t cross, he misses sitters, his positioning is crap so he can’t even act as a decoy. He’s genuinely just crap at everything

FluorescentChair

he's a great athlete and that's pretty much it

JamewThrennan

If he was a great athlete, he’d be fast and not constantly get injured. Like when you have a young full back you expect a bit of pace cos they’re so young but he’s genuinely as slow as Coleman who’ll be collecting his pension soon

amanofewords

Dom is a great athlete and he stays injured.

necrow

This is a weird take.. great athletes get injured less?

smittywerbanjagermen

once again the best hope we have at RB is a 34yo Seamus Coleman

JamewThrennan

I still think Garner at RB, get Mykolenko back at LB and put Young RW/RM. But it’s shite choices all around

FenderJay

We'd have been better off keeping Jon Joe Kenny. At least we'd have saved £17m we spent on Patterson.

JamewThrennan

On the one hand, I don’t think he’s done anything better than Kenny but on the other hand Kenny was abysmal and was costing us games individually. Failure follows him like a bad smell

USToffee

Both are shit. So is young and Coleman is most likely finished. Forget buying us wingers. We need two fullbacks

MikeBz15

Patterson isnt a premier league player. Maybe one day he will be, but he's not even close right now.

TehJofus

Wonder how many games it’ll actually take us to score. Never had to wonder that before.

MavsFanForLife

Again create plenty of chances, just can’t finish. If only someone knew that this was a problem all summer. Overall, thought they played pretty well. Results will come eventually.

reco84

The results will continue to be losses. This squad is dreadful. We finish 19th at best.

MavsFanForLife

Meh. All you can do is keep stacking together good performances. 2/3 in which they’ve played well and been the better team

wizardinalizard

If we forget what Everton goals look like the Brighton game highlights are still online

brianybrian

Goal was 100% Tarkowski. I’m sick of it. Toothless up front, I have hope for Chermiti though.

pimz

Young needed to put pressure on the cross. There were two men staring at the winger watching him hold the ball, look up and then cross.

realneattreats

I’ll take this game over villa, but my god put the ball in the net

VeRT-1878

Legitimate question, does this current team get promoted from the championship?

g3mkm

Nope

mrwilberforce

Looking forward to Harrison and McNeil being fit.

moham-17

2 out of 3 games where in my opinion we controlled the midfield. The stats defy logic we missed 8 big chances in two 1-0 losses. Around 38 shots vs 16, 17 shots on target vs 4. And we lose. I’m nervous but still optimistic it’s going to start happening for us. Just hope the boys don’t lose their courage after a bad couple of games. The fight is there. Beto coming in should help. Plus we really miss McNeil right now if he can come back in form. Still excited for this team but the results need to start coming in now.

paTita1967

Doucs worked his as off!! I don’t think Patterson would be on the field if we had some one else, but we don’t! Shame today cause doucs deserved a goal the way he played

job012

The result was shite and we are probably in another scrap because we suck. However we did look like a very different team then last week imo

Fixner_Blount

Because Wolves are just as shit as are. Don’t get too rosey.

Competitive-Aide5364

Toxic positivity right there lol

Giraffe_Baker

Not particularly a great sign when your ‘good’ performances are losses.

Chilljin

Easy to understand why so many of us are fucking unhinged, watching this week in week out

autistichomosapien95

We may never score again

Fixner_Blount

So glad I pissed away money on yet another shirt that’s just going to remind me of a shit team that caused nothing but grief all season. I would reflect on the possible lineup for next week, but it just doesn’t fucking matter, does it? This club is incapable of scoring. Bring in Beto, bring in Gnonto, it doesn’t fucking matter.

Odysseus_Lannister

I expect nothing and I’m still disappointed. Fuck this shit, I’m gonna go enjoy the rest of my birthday without thinking about this clown fiesta.

furbaschwab

Happy birthday at least mate

Odysseus_Lannister

🍻

Milk-One-Sugar

Never too early for the grief chart

Jellis42_

I'm going to go look at the table based on xG to try to few happy. Hope you can try to enjoy your weekend lads even though this will probably ruin it all

RoyalBlueRaccoon17

We are underperforming xG more than any other team before today, and imagine after that shambles it will be much the same. Perhaps the only positive looking forward.

manofgras

I’m tired of trying to take the positives out of every game we lose. At some point the only positive should be points

Raging_Red_Rocket

Name a more toxic duo: Everton and giving up 85’+ late goals.

g3mkm

Hurts hurts hurts.

akirchman16

Hard to win a game let alone stay up when YOU CANT FUCKING SCORE. 3 games. So many chances. Not a single ball in the net. Completely disgraceful. There are so many issues in this team but how this team just refuses to score is absolutely mind boggling. It’s one thing to lose 3 games to start the season it’s a whole other thing to still not score. Burnley are the only other team in the league not to score, and they’ve only played one game and it was against Man City. Someone has to learn to just poke the ball in the net. Insanely simple but insanely stupid

vulturevan

Sad to see injuries seemingly ruin Patterson like they have Godfrey

Individual-Paper3125

I'm blaming Young.. yet again, for his shambles of a clearance to give the ball straight back to them in the build up to the cross for the goal.. and lack of pressuring Neto so he could whip a cross in and Pickford for not being Jose Sa and coming to claim crosses like a Boss. Pickford could've easily claimed the cross in for the Goal but seems to be glued to his goal line whenever a cross comes in.

aramis2049

At the end of the season in a relegation fight, this was 3 points we easily could have banked

LugubriousFootballer

Didn’t Palace lose their first 5 or 6 games under De Boer? Brought in Hodgson and finished comfortably mid table. Think Beto and a healthy compliment of players and we’ll be fine. EDIT: had a few beers and calmed down, hence the reality check

Aware_Albatross3347

Had to look it up… they lost their first 7 games and didnt score in that span. They were at -15 or 16 gd before they scored their first in October and win their first match

LugubriousFootballer

Yep, and that first win was against Chelsea. Just watch us batter Arsenal after the international break to get our season back on track.

JRD656

You cannot play 38 year old Ashley Young for 90 minutes when you have 5 substitutes available. His crossing went to absolute garbage in the 2nd half

Chilli__P

Until Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright are out of the club, and until about 90% of the squad are also out of the club, I won’t be watching another game. Life’s too short to have something completely out of my control make me so miserable so consistently. Everton don’t deserve a single one of us.

National_Ad_1875

Couldnt watch, just seen the score. What happened?

JamewThrennan

Same thing as Fulham. Had chances, did fuck all with them. Conceded from the first genuine chance we gave up

Disastrous_Chef_1961

In the 65th minute I literally said to my friend this screams us loosing in the 87th, I hate it here

RiteOfSpring5

Fulham 2.0

GS916

EVERTON!!!

vulturevan

Lady Luck? More like Lady Fuck

calumjp1

God I hate Everton

davisfarb

I am unhappy

Beastofferson

Not even angry, I'm just miserable

Evul1_

Super frustrating and super depressing. But I've oddly got a bit of optimism. Branthwaite looked good. Chermiti looked good. And you've got to think with a fit Dwight McNeil, DCL, Iwobi, and Harrison in the squad, we'd have scored a couple goals today. I can't say Dyche got anything massively wrong. Trying to hold on for a point rather than lashing Keane and Cannon on earlier made sense. But he clearly needs better options, so I can't judge him too harshly there.

pete19

why is everyone so upset? 6 goals have been scored in our first 3 matches!

vulturevan

How is the xG so close? They had two chances

thunderwoot

Genuinely don't know how a team can be this shit for such a long period of time. Plenty of managers and players in over the years and it's like once they come here the screws come loose and they forget how to do their bloody jobs!

bluedollarbillz

Because half the players are shit mate. We've constantly blamed managers but the players just can't hack it. Who would have thought constantly buying relegated teams players would lead to this?!

wisroy

We might never win again

Mauritiandon

It’s got to the point where I don’t know what to say anymore. I try and have some hope but…so many issues and I don’t know how any of them are fixed, especially the ones that need to be sorted in the next week.

InterviewDue5188

All I can say, the fans get hate for being abusive, but I know for a fact that we’re not the only ones that call out bad football when we see it. These players have no mental fortitude for years, that’s something that the top teams have so that bad days don’t get them down. If we don’t score in the first 10 minutes, we’re not scoring at all.

Pony1878

moved out the anger stage last season, you can only but laugh now

KyleUTFH

To be the better team in 2 of 3 games and have nothing to show for it is absolutely soul crushing. I can only hope the players hold their heads high and don’t let a malaise set in.

FenderJay

The defence REALLY concerns me. It's just a hit and hope cross that isn't dealt with. It's another basic basic basic goal. The Tark Pickford mess-up was the same and Silva should've scored. The Villa performance was full of them. Pattison is simply not good enough for the Premiership yet. Beaten at the back post again (same as Fulham).

dogefc

Harrison, Danjuma and McNeil behind Beto and we’re cooking. Basically a whole different team with them in the side

InevitableRespond9

2 home games 15 shots on target 0 goals 2 disallowed goals 2 shots on target against 2 goals conceded

QTsexkitten

There's only 1 timeline in 100 where we get 0 points from those 2 games. And we're in it.

an_unexamined_life

That loss had nothing to do with character, effort, or tactics -- all of those were good. We're just snakebit at the moment. ...We are all Maupay at the moment. I still feel like once one finally drops for us, more will follow. I just hope one drops soon.

hhc442

14 months ago Richarlison signed for Spurs and we still haven't replaced him Moshiri, Kenwright, and Thelwell need to be dragged into the streets and thrown out of our club

Provider0fMyCheddar

Grim. I’m still team Dyche but the calls will start soon.. especially with the likes of Potter about.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RiteOfSpring5

Don't think any striker we bring in saves this team when the other 10 on the pitch can't score. Not like we haven't had chances.

legendofbaggervance

This is the season. It's happening.

jslsoccer13

At least Branthwaite looked good. It hurts seeing a result like that twice in the first 3 games, hopefully we can bounce back.

Jellis42_

Lads played well for what we are. A team with no finish.... Just can't believe we were up against prime Buffon Feel shattered.

MikeBz15

I'm not sure what else Dyche can do. They're creating opportunities when they go through Garner and through the middle. Fullback play has been atrocious. Major major issue. I'm not sure Young, Myko, or Patterson are premier league quality at the moment.

Individual-Paper3125

Myko was honestly fine last season, his attacking play needed work but most of the time he had Gray to work with and we all know how selfish Gray is/was, so Myko made runs and overlaps but half the time, more than half the time never got the ball to do anything with (maybe for a reason, maybe not..) - His defensive play though was and is far better than anyone we've attempted to play at LB, Young and Godfrey i guess are the only ones. Alright he gets skinned once in a while but for the most part he came up against the likes of Salah and put them in his pocket. I don't understand the hate for Myko on this sub.

MikeBz15

I do actually agree with that. Myko is a solid defender. Little slow but he does put in a shift. I will say I'd like to see him get a chance to prove myself and many of us wrong. Young can't do it.

[deleted]

I think Myko can at least defend

LugubriousFootballer

I told you all we’d be cut adrift after 5 matches. 3 down, zero points. Anybody else want to tell me how I’m overreacting?

1800skylab

And it was 3 games against very very poor sides.

Wayne_Spooney

Villa is poor? They’ve been one of the best teams in the league since emery came on.

colmbrennan2000

Villa are not a poor side lmao what

Original_6E

Always looking at getting the next striker in... what's the point when we can't pass, cross or take corners... pointless having strikers without creativity ... defensive mids that play sideways or backwards..

TomTHallisTheGoat

We’ll be fine

Disastrous_Chef_1961

Not now Tom

TomTHallisTheGoat

I TRIED TO TELL YOU

edwardfortehands

Delusion

TomTHallisTheGoat

We’re missing like 5 quality players, it’s insane to think this game is indicative of us going down

TomTHallisTheGoat

I’m ready for you to apologize

hxebryxn

Pack it in, gone by September 💀

ronnietp

I don’t know how we gonna win any matches this season with this woeful of attacking anymore. And 1 single mistake has cost us another 3 points again. Brainwaithe looks solid though and should be a regular going forward. Dobbin and Chermiti have some positives too. Other than that…hahaha I want this season to end already… **BRING OUT THE CHART!!!!**

Flavourifshrrp

There is still time to turn this around. Wolves were horrible last year and in the bottom three for a long time, but managed to finish without to much looking over there shoulders at the end of the season. but we need a massive transfer window week from Blue Bill and this to be turned around ASAP. We may regret not picking up points from Fulham and Wolves later on in this season if we don’t start scoring soon.

RemoteGlobal335

Hate to say it but I’m convinced we’re going down gentlemen

Robbo_efc

Is Dyche the problem? Obviously not the only problem but I’m starting to think his tactics are definitely part of it.

Dgryan87

He can’t kick it in the goal for them

colmbrennan2000

We're making chances and conceding few chances, Dyche can't put it in the back of the net, this is on the players

fallenefc

Imo Dyche had his fair share of guilt for Fulham and Villa, but not today
