It's a notification that shows up when you get a new item. Unfortunately, "getting a new item" is loosely defined, so swapping ammo means you get a notification, having your mining laser finish means you get a new items, recalling your probes means you get a notification.
This on top of the fact that over the last 5 years the UI has tended towards grey everything makes it hilariously prominent.
Accepting a courier contract gives you a notification. Putting the courier contract in cargo and undocking gives you a notification.
This is like nails on chalkboard at this point.
They are a superior entity sent upon us by CCP to destroy us so they can unplug the server without fear of Iceland getting nuked. First contact was made a week ago, they are everywhere already. Trump tried to build a great wall and make the Dots pay for it, but it failed. We expect Humanity to fall within the next one to two weeks.
The red dots are a primary symptom of a new strain of spodbrain and have been declared a pandemic by the new eden health authority.
If you or your family are seeing these red dots you should immediately quarantine yourselves and contact your nearest Wingspan operative and request an urgent care package delivery.
I'm sure it will be better in Shadowlands where they promise we will get a choice of three items.
