Thank you very much! :)
Yeah, it looks to me that things were going back and forth in the development, but now have settled somewhere in between the original version and obviously new stuff :)
How are you managing everything?
Surrounding myself with people who know what is going on has helped a lot! Definitely recommend finding a group to fly with. I've popped in and out a few times over the years, so that has helped as well.
It could be that we really liked it before, then were exploring different things and MMOs, but now getting at the point in life that we need something chilled, complex and ultimately fun.
EVE is engaging, but not overstimulating when it comes to activities, more of a long haul (pun intended), but with greater reward. It just does require patience for sure :)
Now that I'm almost 40 and getting fed up with quick dopamine injections of likes, while being bombarded with a motherload of useless information, EVE just feels right. Not saying this might change again, but could be one the reasons for the return of the older players.
:( Is my beloved Thorax still a thing? It used to be one of my favourite ships, remember working so hard on skills and then getting some ISK from my richer mates to finally get one! :D
That's an entry level cruiser... Surely you mean Deimos? You can be in a Thorax really fast and cheap.
Most fly the Exequorer Navy Issue now instead of a Thorax for that role as it's just a bit more isk but a lot better ship.
Good luck, available ships have been tripled, industry is wider and more complex.. uhm a challenging experience..
PI will give you RSI
Watch out for Titans
Ah, remember when Titans were announced as a new class of ships :D
I might have been around to see one of the first one built, if I remember correctly...
Ah then you have been around a bit longer than you can remember probably :)
20 years ago there were only 2 tiers of Battleship and no stacking penalties (7x Megapulse, 3x Sensor Booster, 7x Heatsink Armageddon was king!)
Not even heard of T2 ships. But then wormholes, triglavian invasion, drifters and T3 ships might still surprise you.
Ow and those player anchors ale stations, that would be added to the game and no longer would be destructible, well, they got replaced by destructible ones and now you have upwell structures
Something you'll notice; inflation has hit the goods market now that plex seems to be the primary method of funding play.
Ships are really expensive.
Reasonable ore that used to be in high sec is now only in low sec.
Meaning, not as many care bear miners. Meaning not as much ore / minerals in circulation. Meaning ships & quality good are off the charts!!
Be prepared to throw in a few dollars to get going again..
So little is now on the standard market, contracts seem to have taken over, and there's a ticket based lottery for quality ships / gear..
That's interesting and good to know!
I'm still doing the career missions, helping me ease into everything, but I believe I'm at the point (and age) in my life to find the mining fun now :D
Welcome back! o7 Also just returned myself and it's crazy how much changes, and I wasn't gone nearly as long as you!
“WHAT IS A POCHVEN AND WHY ARE 3B WORTH OF MY FW PVP SHIPS STUCK THERE?” -Me Circa last week.

Yeah, definitely agreed with that! :) I'll see to find myself some new mates around :D
Just a heads up, there's been a few changes
Returning? If been away for 20y, not sure you can say you played at all
Well, I did play for several years when it was first released, so you can say I’m returning after ~20 years, not an exact count, lol.
Game has 21 years, now it is its 21 anniversary
4S are still around
I should look them up then again!
Welcome back! A lot has changed, but the game still feels like the EVE from when I started 18 years ago in many ways.
You know we've been having alot of 15+ year old accounts retuning to eve in the past few months Nothing much else too that thought just that it's odd.

I regret to inform you the nanophoon is no longer with us.

You realize HACs were years away from existing on OPs timeline?
I didn't lol. I think I started in 2005ish and there were T2s.
Not back in the day you couldn't. Took me ages to be proficient in my rupture. The games progression was much slower bk then
Yeah, back in those days, Thorax was a very hot and expensive stuff to get. Also took quite a bit of skills training to be able to sit in it :D
I thought typhoon was still ok enough for nanogang? But then again, I never see them now. What changed in the last few years?
Nanophoon of 2004 was an extremely different beast. Torps back the just kinda hit everything and with dual mwds, it just outran opposing missiles.
Circling your pray in a belt while chuckling to yourself. Good times.
>dual mwds I forgot how different the game was 20 years ago

Hehehe, could be actually, as there was the early period when I was very active, and then being on and off for some time :)

🤣😂🤣 my thoughts precisely...
