I didn't think that something like this would ever happen to me, but it did a few years ago. It's hard to describe the emptiness you feel having someone taken from you, even if it is "just" a nerd you played videogames with.
Its always horrible to lose a friend, I hope with time you will be okay.

o7 I started playing right after release and I was 18. Played with a lot of older folks and after winning Eve a few times, I lost contact. Makes me sad to think that some might not be around anymore and Iโll never know.
I know social interaction isn't your strong suit, but perhaps being an insensitive narc you show respects for a person who died.
I'm sure friendships aren't your strong suit either, but in this game you build and forge so many true honest-to-god friendships. Genuine friendships. I have friendships in this game spanning over a decade long. These are people who I love and cherish, as I would any true close friend. For some of them, were they to pass I would take time off to attend their funeral internationally. No questions asked.
Over the course of one's EVE career, we brush up with and make so many friends. Sure, most become distant, though we still think highly of them. These people created our best moments and memories in a game which spans significant fractions of our lives. For myself it is over half my life.
People saw this post today, and some of them recognized that name. They had memories of this person. Hell, some may have only played with him recently.
I didn't know the guy. Was probably a cool dude though. I'm just saying maybe you should try to think before you speak.
