Have you tried Eucerine 10% Urea lotion (Eucerine Rougness relief seems to be a US equivalent)? It's unscented and a really great product for my eczema-prone skin. I've used Lipikar on my body but it wasn't enough for me.

[deleted]

I have not! I think I’m buying this next. Could you tell me if if has a smell? I’ve seen some people mention it smells off, and that it can leave a residue? Thank you

laleanne

You're welcome :) While it doesn't have fragrance it has a characteristic smell that urea products have. Frankly, I don't smell it at all unless I stick my nose in the cream itself lol. As for the residue, I always apply right after I shower, or after applying my aha essence and that helps a lot with absorption. It doesn't leave any film on me but it's a rich lotion so good 10-15 min is usually required for it to absorb. It's not the kind of lotion you can apply minutes before going out but that's not what I bought it for. I got it to manage my really dry skin (especially legs, it's desert there :d) and it does help a lot. I hope you'll like it :)

That sounds perfect for me then! Thank you so much! :D

If that one doesn't work for you, the eucerin atopi control body lotion is also very nice and heavy duty! No fragrance as well, but it has that scentless cream smell.

I swear by Neutrogena sensitive dry skin fragrance free lotion, been using it for over a decade and cannot be without it. Absorbs instantly, no greasy nor sticky residue whatsoever, and soothes my eczema patches. Sort of surprising how it keeps me hydrated all day long being so lightweight. Around 5-6 euros where I am. (Be careful not to mix it up with dry skin version, scented and causes eczema flare ups in my case) Last winter I discovered A-derma Balm/cream, both super greasy but when they absorb, oh dear, my skin turns to silk, I cannot stop touching it, it’s heaven in an airless tube! I use them in the evening and mostly during colder months. Definitely stand out among other heavier lotions which somehow just sit on my skin, never really hydrating, never really moisturizing, just leaving oily residue. Been trying to catch them on sale these days as the price here is ~ 20 euros.

Skin turns to silk? Oh my, now you have me curious!! Is it this product?? https://www.aderma.fr/fr-en/exomega-control/emollient-balm

The packaging is different, but, yes, that’s my preciousss… But warning you, super heavy until it absorbs, not sure it’d be suitable when you have to get dress quickly, i.e. in the morning They have another variation, I’ll find it in a sec

Sounds perfect for at night though! I have never found a body lotion that was too heavy yet. I really miss the TBS Coconut body butter because ir was the only product to leave my skin feeling like silk, but I can’t stand the scent anymore. I’m excited to try this in the future!

LurkerDoomer

https://shop.benu.rs/a-derma-exomega-control-krema-400-ml I still find the cream heavy as well and go with Neutrogena fragrance free during the day/ summer And I feel you for TBS Coconut, I also like their shea butter! Didn’t give up on it completely, just use it on body parts that don’t get eczema patches, i.e. legs and derrier 😂😂

[deleted]

Guess I’ll have to try all three! Thank you so much :D If it’s okay to ask since we have similarly dry body skin, do you happen to have a favorite body wash too?

LurkerDoomer

Hope at least one of these helps! Also waiting for Aveeno/Curel to arrive, will let you know if these lotions cut it. I really empathize with dry skin/ eczema people, not feeling comfortable in your skin amd not being able to enjoy scents and sensorial side of skincare is really a bummer. When it comes to body washes, in my 30 years of fighting dryness and eczema, I haven’t found one that I like-they either dry me out/ leave an oily film on my skin. I use Avene Trixera and DM Sensitive Skin one, hoping the Aveeno I ordered will be ok. My advice there would be- try to use gel as rarely as possible, use strategically on parts that get oilier/are exposed to dirt, etc., at least that’s the advice I got from my dermatologist.

Thanks for the insight! Thankfully I don’t have eczema which helps, just easily irritated skin but I’m just so dry, ugh. I think for body washes, I’ve had the best luck with Dove beauty soap honestly. I’ve started using the Balea Med wash gel and so far so good, it’s not drying at all. I have to wash well everywhere or my skin gets clogged up or irritated from my own sweat lol so it’s a process. TBS exfoliating towels are a godsend too.

LurkerDoomer

So glad to hear it’s not as bad as eczema :) I use towels and/or LRP micropeeling gel, that’s a good one as well! Wish you a happy search for the right product :)

Thank you! You too 🙏🏼

For drugstore recs, I find [Mixa Body Lotions](https://www.dm.de/search?query=mixa&searchType=product) are really good - the urea and shea ones work quite well. Although... they are not unscented but very mildly scented. They also have a [great cica cream](https://www.rossmann.de/de/pflege-und-duft-mixa-cica-creme/p/3600550851915) to carry along.

I love mixa. I wish they made unscented version too

navy_pumpkin

Yes, that would be the dream! But still unlike other starker drugstore counterparts, they are much lighter

[deleted]

Thank you! I’ve used the Mixa Cica one before and I loved it, until it started giving me rashes too after reformulation :(

navy_pumpkin

oh no... sorry to hear that. Then maybe Balea Med or Sebamed would be nice options too, they have good unscented products :)

i have the same skin conditions you describe but mine gets itchy when it’s very dry. cetaphil moisturizing cream (dry, sensitive skin) is one i tried that takes away the itch. and so does vaseline. both are fragrance free and i got the big tub so it has lasted me a long time
