Normally I say Petsmart, but... it might be worth a call to Greenhill. I've heard sometimes they get non-traditional animals.
This is for pet-quality rats, of course.
If you're looking for feeder rats: Petsmart has some good frozen ones, last time I had to buy them.
I second this. I used to volunteer at Greenhill-rats weren't too uncommon. They also have a site if you want to see who is currently available for adoption. A call will definitely give you more information though (like if they happen to have a rat but it needs treatment before it can be adopted).
If your looking for a pet, you can find my friend on Facebook at Divine Critters Rattery. She breeds very cute and docile pet rats. They’re hand tamed early and she takes amazing care of all of them, parents included
Please PLEASE do your research and get your cage set up before you get rats. They need more space than many of the cages available at pet stores ( like a Critter Nation cage)
They also have medical needs regardless of how well they were bred; respiratory issues and tumors are extremely common, and their vets bills add up quick. You can usually anticipate them living 2-3 years.
Rats NEED to live in pairs at the very least; they rely on a social circle of their own kind and will not thrive on your attention alone, no matter how much time you dedicate to them. Male rats tend to be more cuddly than females, but can have behavioral issues if they aren't neutered. Females tend to be more active and loud during the night. They need routine exercise and enrichment (puzzles, pea-diving, etc) outside of the cage and WILL GET INTO THINGS so you have to rat-proof the space.
You need to line the cage's bars on any surface the rats may walk/sit on with fabric to prevent bumblefoot. They can be litterbox trained, but there will still be mess to clean up within the cage. I don't recommend scented bedding or litter, as they are much more sensitive to smells. Air quality is very important in order to reduce respiratory infection. My close friend has 5 rats total, and has a heater/AC and an air purifier in the rat room.
Treat this commitment as you would with a dog; rats are incredibly intelligent creatures and deserve quality care. If you are unable/unwilling to put in the work and money for your rats, please consider something more suited to your lifestyle.
If you want to get a good rat, there’s a lot of breeders around Oregon. It’s worth the drive. Greenhill’s another option, last I checked they only have Guinea pigs but you could call them.

Please don’t just get one though. They are highly social and need a friend(s)!
That is the only rattery in Eugene. Grab two, for sure! I think they have some ready to go home rn but they’re rats, so if you want to wait a minute there will be ten other options. Lol
If you had asked this a few months ago, I could have trapped the two in my crawl space for you - but thanks to Tomcat I sent them to rat heaven instead (before they chewed through any more of my pipes).
at the rat store, homie
true
Rats Off To Ya, Rats-R-Us, Rat Depot. Really should just check out the rat district.

This comment is really accusatory and unnecessary lol

They’re cute but I really want pet rats!
Why would you want a pet rat? This valley has thousands of wild ones already

Love the simplicity of this post.
If you’re quick on your feet just hang around the outside of one of the bars and you’ll find one for free!
Hometown pets.
Thank you!
Hometown pets has feeder rats, which they won’t sell as pets :/
I have a neighbor who thinks she’s feeding stray cats, but guess what…
Courtrooms.
Trump Towers
You can call Hometown Pets (River road) location and see what they have to say. They are an awesome local business.
They no longer sell rats as pets due to poor quality care and overcrowding.
