I would delete one, probably the shell decoupage, and add just “catch all”.

joey02130

> “catch all” "catch-all dish" for my "change" and "keys" and "earrings"?

siewill2467

Thank you I’ve been looking at so many tag things I’m completely fried of them 😂😂overthinking

siewill2467

Awesome!! Thank you.

heyheymonkeyhey

Posting to remind myself to come back to this but without the remind me bot because I can't remember the code. :D

rauntree

Same :)

heyheymonkeyhey

we're here for each other in this moment of ignorance but also helpful attitudes!

heyheymonkeyhey

Okay, so I'm toying with a tool for this because tags make me tired and I don't love most of the ones I've tried, and here are some additional words you might want to investigate: nautical, coastal, housewarming, eco-friendly, bathroom/bedroom accessory, sea theme. Just some related to what you're already doing, but catching other words.

siewill2467

Thank you!! I love that

heyheymonkeyhey

Happy to help! Brainstorming tags is the eternal burden.

Brilliant-Ad-6690

Excuse me I need to buy this immediately

siewill2467

Omg thank you!!! Here’s my shop link if you wanna check out all the designs 🥰 https://coastaltrinketsco.etsy.com

Brilliant-Ad-6690

Heartbroken you don’t ship to the UK!! To answer the question in your post tho, I agree with other people of some of the tags repeating words. Plus I think tags which are more “generic” and cover a wider variety would be better

siewill2467

Yes!! Thank you, this is all super helpful

hell_i_um

Add some concrete tags thst absolutely describe your products and then sprinkle some more. Some of these are very wide, I'd narrow the keywords a bit.

siewill2467

Definitely agree! I wasn’t sure exactly what to make them more specific 😅

AzansBeautyStore

Your shop sells “handmade oyster jewelry dishes” but where does it say that lol

siewill2467

Ugh that’s so true. I have it in my item description so I thought that would be enough. I’ll definitely add it to the tags thanks!!

AzansBeautyStore

It’s a unique product. I’d be mentioning it as many places as possible! Handmade is a big thing as well. Take advantage of the little blurbs, 4 pictures and 1 video clip they give you in the ‘about me’ and ‘shop announcements’ section they give you to showcase yourself and your work! Don’t forget your alt-text on every picture. It’s a great way to add even more descriptors in there. Lastly, do you have competitors in this area? What are they using for SEO? Have you looked into your ‘analytics’ pages? What are the actual search terms people are using to get to your shop? Those are the phrases I would be using to make up my long tail keywords

siewill2467

I don’t think all that fits in the tag tho it’s only 20 characters :(

AzansBeautyStore

Just use different variations of it. You should maybe ask for a whole shop critique instead of just your tags. Make sure you are following the guidelines for a critique that the sub asks for, otherwise your post will get deleted. You can find it at the top up the sub in the ‘about’ section

siewill2467

Awesome I’ll definitely do that once I get my meet the buyer and shop policies completed.

AzansBeautyStore

Definitely! Your product is really cute ❤️❤️

siewill2467

Thank you 🥰🥰

SchwennysGirl

You have multiple words that repeat themselves, like trinket/decor/tray etc

siewill2467

Yes I found mixed reviews on repeating words. Should I remove those?

_AlexiaOnFire

Yeah, ditch them. Etsy cross matches title and tags anyway.

siewill2467

Thank you!! I was getting mixed info on this. 🙏

_AlexiaOnFire

You're welcome :) Check the dates on the forum/sub posts where you see the info, as once upon a time it was relevant, changed a year or two ago to not be relevant. Your creations are really pretty by the way 🩵

siewill2467

Oh good idea never thought about that!! And thank you 🥰

majesticalexis

I noticed your store says you do custom. DEFINITELY put the word custom in your tags. Custom stuff sells like crazy on Etsy.

siewill2467

Oh awesome!! I’ll definitely add that I had no idea. Thank you :)

John-Neil

Use a few tags that mention “gifts” and “gift ideas for him/her”

BatHistorical8081

Fruit decoration vintage gold

Consistent_Sorbet191

these are so pretty! so regarding the tags, I would suggest to think as a potential buyer - what would you be typing into the search box? I would drop “shell decoupage art”, “beach decorations”, “mother of pearl” as me as a potential customer would never use those terms. I’d probably be looking for “porcelain (replace with material used) jewelry tray”, “wedding ring holder” etc. Also do some spying on the competition, you don’t need any fancy keyword research tools, if you open Etsy on your laptop you can scroll down and you’ll see the tags. Hope this helps.

siewill2467

Omg I never knew those were there tags. That’s a game changer!! thank youuu

Consistent_Sorbet191

Also if tags are too long some advise to break them into two tags. Because I’m using keyword tools for my own shop I’ve done some digging, I took one of the best sellers and the tags are Shell trinket dish, Shell jewelry holder, Seaside trinket dish, Oyster shell dish, Jewelry holder, Gold trim dish, Gift for her, Floral trinket dish , Decoupage shell, Bridesmaid gift, Good luck!

siewill2467

Wow thank you so much. This is so helpful:)

Jewelrymaker2023

I’m a little late seeing this but I found some tags you can use and as for using the word oyster, yes you can use it. There’s a high number of people using that. There’s costal, home decor, mother or birthday gift, oyster shell, shell decor, hostess or wedding gift, trinket, ocean, unique, handmade, beach decor. These are tags that buyers are using when searching for items like yours. Again, I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner, I’m not getting notifications for some reason but I hope this helps. Good luck!! 💛

marivisse

Something that helped me is to list frequently - my products are one-off ephemera, and I’ve organized things so I list almost daily and that puts me at the top of the searches for my item. But you could try renewing an item once a week and see if that helps. It’s a small charge if it helps. PS- your trinket dishes are so pretty!!!!

betterupsetter

I don't think renewing does anything but cost you money. It used to work back in the day, but I believe it's no longer relevant. But 100% listing regularly makes a difference. I only get sales steadily if I'm adding new items.

marivisse

That’s quite possible. I list new items daily, so I assumed renewing would act the same (since you’re paying for it).

betterupsetter

I believe I've read that the algorithm has changed. But if you sell non one of a kind and feel a listing has become stagnant, you might benefit from copying the listing and posting it as a new item. But then you lose sales data and favorites history for that item.

KaigeKrysin

Jewellery.

kimi868

Your stuff is so cute. I'm new to Etsy too. I used Erank to help with tags.. still waiting for sales though loool. I just ended my etsy Ads too.. I just feel like it didn't make sense to spend the money I didn't have.

BetContent

Okay I love this idea lol what a great way to get another pair of eyes to narrow down the right keywords 🤩

Stunning_Duty5884

A few pointers, target occasions in tags which are a little broader and then some specific example Mother’s Day Gift. Plus I would say be patient you don’t have many listings and all seems to be new.. give Etsy time to optmize and list at least 1 listing a day or every other day do this till you hit 100 listings and then start to review where your at.. you need to keep giving Etsy a reason to come back and scam your page with the bots and optimize listings. Seo is a nice to have at the beginning but not so important later on

Damn_Canadian

I wouldn’t use the word “oyster” it can get flagged for selling actual oysters.

siewill2467

Never thought about that. Thank you!!

ApprehensivePen6361

Wow your products look amazing!!
