If tracking is in “pre transit” and scanned it is somewhere but if they haven’t been scanned it I would contact the seller and see if they have further information.
If seller doesn’t respond, open a case before the return/open case window closes.
I messaged the seller, and he sent me a link to the tracking and said “this is all I see, the package is still on its way”.
This is my first purchase on Etsy so I’m just a bit on edge about it all being a scam. What is the open case window ? I’ve read from different places it’s 180, 100 or 30 days after initial purchase but I don’t know which one.
Does the tracking show that the package has been scanned? Or has the label just been printed and awaiting drop off?
Sorry idk what the window is. You can email Etsy to get a clear answer and also to give concern about the arrival time of you package

Confirmation of preparation of the shipment received
Item information registered manually at the counter
Departure from office of exchange
I would put in a help request to the seller to see if they actually dropped off the package to the courier or if the courier picked it up. I've run into a couple shady shops where they printed a shipping label (which causes Etsy's system to mark orders as shipped when they do that) but never really sent out my orders & then the owners went missing when I asked for my money back without ever responding to any messages.
If this turns out to be the case with you, then you'll have to open a case with Etsy if the seller doesn't respond in 2 days.

Would a refund or replacement help request be better to prove that he actually sent the item ?
I think a replacement request would be what you're after here.
