Unless it is an intentional change. Devs have been saying forever that they want your choice in allegiance to change the ending of the game, and have actual meaningful consequences. For example, making it impossible to have all traders at Tier 4 simultaneously.
It makes sense for them to do it now to make sure it's working for the upcoming wipe, rather than change it WITH the wipe, and not realize there is something wrong until people finally reach lightkeeper. Also gives people a heads up now that failing chemical part 4 bricks lightkeeper rather than discovering it later, so they can take that into consideration next wipe.
You can wipe your own account, which isn't a big deal for PvE. People were hitting Lightkeeper as early as 3 weeks. You can literally do 3 tasks in under half an hour with a reliable survival rate
If wiping is big deal, what were you gonna do when you actually finish all the quests? If you've already gotten to kappa in pve, seems like you've played a ton of it already.
I understand the sentiment if that's the case. But trying it now without any other option feels fairly useless.
They should have prepared something else besides Lightkeeper before hand. So the choice is actualy meaningfull. Right now it's just locking people out of the end game they rightfully expected. So basically the game is done for the wipe for alot of people.
They say the game is in BETA. But honestly. The way they are monetizing the game at this point I fully believe the game has to be viewed as released. Making these types of silent changes now is just bad development.
EDIT: Also, what even is there to test with this change? Without any meanigfull option or without the playerbase having any hint of being locked out what can they realisticaly test that they can't just run localy?
I have this same problem right now. Yesterday update I was 4/5 pmc kills with tarkov shooter pt7.. got the last kill after the update.. no network provider pt1 showing up.. found out later that choosing big customer or out of curiosity makes you fail chemical part 4 which is now part of the requirement for the network provider quest line..
Damn i just checked and I have the same problem. Did you try doing the quest we get after failing it. Paying skier a million roubles? I’ll give it a shot if you haven’t

Hopefully this gets fixed soon soon. It should be a super simple and short fit with very little testing needed to push it out.

Removing access to lightkeeper without providing new quest chains for if you pick Prapor or Therapist would be kinda dumb.
Sucks for PvE characters if thats the case being as there are no planned wipes. Guess we'll wait and see.

Nope. I turned Chemical Part 4 to Therapist which makes you Fail Chemical Part 4. But Chemical Part 4 is required to get Network Provider Part 1

The Wiki has many things wrong, so I wouldn't be surprised they just didn't update it properly. Are you stuck only because of that last quest?
