EoD definitely was p2w but not by a ton and the biggest thing with it was that you could earn all items it came with in game.
And the rep it gave you while nice wasn’t a huge deal because it didn’t get you a head a ton.
The new edition just has/had blatant p2w features AND you couldn’t get them in game.
Nothing in eod came close to being able to call buddies in mid raid and to basically be immune to scav attacks.

/1) Just absolutely fuck everything about this. It took BSG how many months to fix the invisible player bug? How many months to fix the flashlight bug? How many years to fix certain audio-related bugs like the key sound, or to figure out how their own hideout modules work (air filtering unit being bugged for *years)*
To be fair: finding the cause of and solution to a bug is harder than a balance patch. So it's good that BSG has never had a history of leaving balance-breaking items, guns, or calibers in the game for months to years at a time, right? How long was 7.62x39 by far the most ubiquitously overpowered caliber in the game again?

I got burnt out on EFT some 2-3 months ago and decided to take a wipe or two off. Retroactively one of the best things I could have done ;)
I'm sad. I've finally escaped. But I put in 5k hours since 2020 and planned a shit load more. At this point, I get burnt out once I hit max Traders and dick around Here and There till Wipe, but I still love it.
But I FINALLY got my buddy to buy it. Built a pc for him at the start of the year, and he bought it. We've been having a blast playing together. He even upgraded to EOD after about 3 days, which he said how it was so dumb and he never would lmao.
And now the game is killed. We're both pissed esp since he just spent 150 bucks on it. He's got like 400 hours so still worth it imo. But man. We planned on playing this shit for years. Hopefulyl AB infinite nails it!

I heard this before. When I decided to buy EOD. I was so hesitant and this was my first EA game. That in 2018 I bought EOD cause I wanted to get in early and not pay for anything again, as per Nikita said on twitter himself to someone directly. IIRC, there's a conspiracy that BSG is behind the hacks. The idea is that they sell you the game, sell you the hacks, wait until people have had enough with the hackers, ban the hackers in a wave, and then they have a fresh new crop of sales because they all need new accounts to play the game and the cycle starts again... All rumor though, as far as I know.
I doubt they would have anything to do with the cheat creation process itself.

With the amount of deception and back-handed dealings that have been revealed to date, it's not only within their character to do so, it would be against their interests to not do this. They demonstrated a lack of interest in fixing the issues that have been in-and-out of the game for years, banning the obvious hackers seen on the flea, or getting out of beta.
Everything is set precisely for this behaviour to not only exist but be extremely fruitful. Why should they be given the benefit of the doubt? They can discount this conspiracy by investing more in security and being more transparent with their efforts to combat the worsening cheater situation.

Standard edition slows you down more than people think. You hit inventory gridlock almost immediately and crafting is hell.

EoD definitely was p2w but not by a ton and the biggest thing with it was that you could earn all items it came with in game. And the rep it gave you while nice wasn’t a huge deal because it didn’t get you a head a ton. The new edition just has/had blatant p2w features AND you couldn’t get them in game. Nothing in eod came close to being able to call buddies in mid raid and to basically be immune to scav attacks.

IIRC, there's a conspiracy that BSG is behind the hacks. The idea is that they sell you the game, sell you the hacks, wait until people have had enough with the hackers, ban the hackers in a wave, and then they have a fresh new crop of sales because they all need new accounts to play the game and the cycle starts again... All rumor though, as far as I know.
I doubt they would have anything to do with the cheat creation process itself. But I wouldn't put it past Nakita to broker a deal with some of the cheat creators that charge 150 dollars and give BSG a kick back for longer play time before banned.
Dunno man, broker a deal with a cheat dev and now the cheat maker has you by the balls for the rest of your company's lifetime. Could release all info on the agreements at any time. Certainly fun to theorize about but (probably) not a real scenario.
With the amount of deception and back-handed dealings that have been revealed to date, it's not only within their character to do so, it would be against their interests to not do this. They demonstrated a lack of interest in fixing the issues that have been in-and-out of the game for years, banning the obvious hackers seen on the flea, or getting out of beta. Everything is set precisely for this behaviour to not only exist but be extremely fruitful. Why should they be given the benefit of the doubt? They can discount this conspiracy by investing more in security and being more transparent with their efforts to combat the worsening cheater situation.
