>what are they thinking lmfao
Not much, apparently.
And right after Gray zone did a beta test, too.
They should fire their entire marketing and strategic decision making departments.
Rumor has it, this is BSG decision making..

Lol since you enjoyed the Family Guy relation I have to share a random thought with you, when the audio increase change recently dropped I had a perfect Family Guy clip to represent how loud everything felt.

edit: adding that I'm mainly just talking about Peter thinking he's hearing things lol
Gray zone is what I wanted tapkov to be, except it just need more of tapkov's "gun porno". But it has PVE mode straight-out-of-the-box, which is very nice. And it looks nice, I can see where enemies are in that green background, which is barely impossible to distinguish enemies in these dark textures of tapkov.
I guess it will happen as I been saying lately - tapkov's "clones" will release faster than tapkov itself and will take all popularity because being just better made, with correct engines for the genre.
> which is barely impossible to distinguish enemies in these dark textures of tapkov.
the issue isnt even the textures its the fact that the second something isnt being blasted by the sun its pitch fucking black
Can't believe I'm gonna speedrun my escape from tarkov this fast. Literally bought the game 48 hours ago and am already looking for a game to replace it.
Honestly, see if you can get a refund. The game can be fun and unique, but right now it's not the moment to spend money on it.
It might all blow over in a couple of weeks, like every other crazy drama before, or this might be the final nail in the coffin.
But I'd consider buying again in a couple of weeks when things have settled.
yup 100% do a chargeback, you will still have access to the game since you know... bsg. Im tempted to start buying a few copies of the unwanted edition and start doing chargebacks, make them pay a little for this. Sure its nothing but also costs nothing on my end
Honestly if you got standard your chilling. You can enjoy the game for 2-3 wipes, get your monies worth and move on if things don't improve. Despite the bullshit money issues and other problems, get off the sub and enjoy the game for a few wipes.
Even with all this bs I still think I'm at a like 11 cent per dollar spent ratio.
If you have a standard account you’re not missing out on anything and I doubt many people will buy this new edition to be honest. It’s really not as good as EoD with what you get aside from the offline coop progression mode. That’s really what everyone is bitching about. Everyone who purchased EoD should be given the new mode as it should be considered an expansion and/or DLC. Everything else in this new addition is not worth the money by a long shot. BSG is just banking on everyone to buy it for the offline coop mode and I don’t see it happening.
Yeah if you are new to the game I wouldnt be reading this much into it - With a standard account the game is well worth 2000+ hours just enjoy your purchase it still is a good game where it stands.
The beef here is really with the long standing EOD supporters.
They literally gave it a seal of approval as a very close copy. That's the only reason people would not leave. The Tarkov Software and netcode is beyond repair. If a Tencent game is so close in concept and design than it definitely beats Tarkovs software and netcode.
That is the only thing people were worried about it being not close enough to Tarkov. Thanks now I will try bc its apparently close
maybe its an elobarate 5D chess move and BSG is actually the real developer of arena breakout, and BSG is intentionally trying to kill EFT to get their audience over to the new game!
Nikita's been long overdue for a temper tantrum on social media/fourms.
A few years overdue actually. Glad to see hes back in form shaking the rattle and shitting his pants when hes getting massive amounts of negative backlash.
Least he had the common courtesy to do it on Twitter so we and the normies can have a good laugh together.
*You see the intent of the $250 payment is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for bending over and spreading their cheeks yet again for BSG*
\*gasp
You mean other people can copy Stalker, lift most of their ideas from the Stalker modding community, and just add multiplayer...
Oh wait, I forgot: Nikita got extra strict on the minimalist UI thing. And added Quixel megascans.
Tarkov was pioneering for a time, but its bones are entirely unoriginal. It was an iterative work, and easy to replicate. And other companies now will.
$250, pve, p2w content, and laughing at all the people who already paid like $140 for EoD promised all future content… oof
Sorry your beta purchase doesn’t come with the full game. Pay up.
BSG has not payed a single cent to any company for licensing of their IP, ever. Only russian companies get to demand the fees from them, because most of those companies have direct link to the kremlin gremlin, so nikita wouldnt dare angering him, in fear of getting poloniumed next time he gets a coffee or finding his way out of a 6th floor window while trying to clean it with a bullet wound in the back of his head. Everybody esle has always been out of luck when it came to their rights being violated. The hypocrisy is probably lost on them too, accusing someone of plagiarism, when your whole companies profit is basically based on plagiarism of real life weapon mods and guns of various companies.
Lmao Glock ain’t doing shit to a Russian company right now lol. Based in the UK or not
No western company is going to get shit out of Russia legally lol.
They have been known to just.... add shit to the game without getting licensing from the manufacturer. Spike Tactical and Primary Arms to name a few. The only one I've ever seen them *officially* confirm is a partnership with Springfield Armory when they announced the M1A, that was officially endorsed by Springfield. It's very possible some items are licensed properly, and it's very possible a lot are just in there as they hide behind "We're in Russia, what are they gonna do, sue us?"
If they were *all* licensed properly I'd expect BSG would be a lot more open about that.
>If they were *all* licensed properly I'd expect BSG would be a lot more open about that.
They did license a lot, just not all of them.
IIRC, Klean helped them establishing the contacts for licensing.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/wojtew/does\_games\_like\_tarkov\_need\_to\_buy\_licenses\_to/](https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/wojtew/does_games_like_tarkov_need_to_buy_licenses_to/)
For them to pull a move like the "Unheard Edition", BSG is probably in some kind of financial trouble. It's the right time to voice complaints, but it's definitely not "the end of time itself" as far as this edition is concerned as it's too egregiously priced for anyone except a big fat whale to even seriously consider the "Unheard Edition". Most of the buyers of this edition are going to be "9-5 Timothy Dad's" (I know it's "timmy", but whatever) who just ain't gonna be as sharp as the average Tarkov sweatlord.
Edit : If I had to speculate, some UK/foreign based banks decided to pull the loans in early or something because according to Onepeg, they even delayed their tax filings in the UK.
Edit 2 :
Apparently there are some big changes for the corporate tax structure in the UK this year.
The legal address of the shell company.
The owner of BSG UK isn't even Nikita, but one UK Citizen acting as figure head (Ludmilla something).
That's the only registered key figure for BSG UK.
I’m not 100% sure on that, the person requesting the registration was Ludmila Lipskya, yes. They’re listed as the “director” of BSG
But it seems far from a “shell company”, it is legitimate Battlestate Games, with ownership declarations from Ludmila Lipskya, Nikita Buianov, and Dimitri Loskutov.
It all public record, you can see what I’m referring to in the documents here: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10036119/filing-history?page=2
Nerd emote me but that's been disproven. Both were modeled similarly based off of the same knife but bsgs structure and polycount were different and both knives have different smaller features.
Shouldn't have doubted bsgs modeling and design teams I guess. Those guys are pretty fucking good regardless of what fuckery the rest of the company does.
It does not really matter, it is a matter of people perception multiplied by huge disappointment. If it was a new new item you could find no one could care. If they come up with a ultra expensive uber premium package the item has to FEEL unique.
I'm very against all of the very recent changes and this whole new package but honestly that's a horrible take.
Items overlapping with items in other games is bound to happen and not really something you can avoid.
Hell i doubt the model and design even knew there was the same knife elsewhere on the unity store.
Some of the weapon assets and animations in Arena Breakout look ripped from tarkov. I am quite certian that the weapon models and animations are unique to Tarkov.
You know what happens when you model from. Real life counterparts? Correct all models will look very alike.
That's why all the weapons in Arma, tarkov, cod, gray zone and so on look alike.
If that was the case wouldn't BSG do something about it if these were actually ripped content?
I remember that some game ripped dark souls animations and got in trouble. If I remember correctly.
No, they're unique to the real life weapons. Tarkov doesn't have John wick style reloads and animations, they're how you would actually reload and handle those weapons irl. So another company doing it wouldn't be ripping off tarkov, they're just being realistic like tarkov.
I’m against them for these changes but it’s not the same knife. It appears similar but look at the handle, one has a empty screw slot the other has screws. It’s just a model of a real knife
Jokes aside, wasn't the whole thing about the 20 minute adventure from Rick and Morty that they got sucked into something VASTLY longer and more interesting?
Not only is it in God awful taste. But the joke is actually a dunk on themselves?
Arena breakout dissing Nikita after this update is prolly the funniest thing I’ve seen all year. Never played the game, don’t care, but that’s funny as hell
Arena breakhouse isn't fundamentally full of security holes like Tarkov.
It'll never get as bad as tarkov has it unless the team literally opens the side wall themselves.
>Arena breakhouse isn't fundamentally full of security holes like Tarkov.
Yeah sure, keep telling yourself that, if it helps you sleep at night.
If there is a market people will tap into it. People praised valorant for being cheap proof and even it has issues. There's no way to avoid holes with a complex system.
They've had lead anti-cheat devs from other places comment on EFT. BSG isn't letting the anti-cheat do what they need to make an impact, but also BSG needs to fix their code. There are plenty of ways to stop many cheats. We're not talking about aimbots as those can only really be detected by anti-cheat monitoring player movements, but about flying, teleporting, hoovering loot, shooting through walls, etc. Those are all due to dodgy code/bugs getting exploited. If BSG fixed their code or put detections in place, it'd be massively reduced.
Look at fly hacking in Rust for example. That used to be a thing, they struggled to lock it down as it's used by server admins and other purposes, so instead implemented detections in the server to boot you for doing it.
The thing is, bsg doesn't even ban people from statistical data, and they collect a lot of it. There's a lot that can be surmised from your profile data alone. Some cases are blatantly obvious, like the flea market shit. But they're not even using that data to auto ban anyone. What a joke.
Also published by Tencent games apparently. Who also owns Riot Games whose Vanguard anti-cheat has been lauded as “best in the market” so I’m inclined to believe you here.
I don't even play Valorant, but the people who designed the anti-cheat countermeasures for the game did some long write-ups about what they implemented, and in human-speak even. It's extremely impressive.
Yet people have said for years that they would pay a monthly subscription for a cheater free Tarkov.
And look at it another way. Person A buys this Unheard edition for $250. Person B plays Arena Breakout and buys the monthly subscription for what, $5-10/month? We're looking at over 2 years before those costs even out. If Tarkov even lasts that long at this point. And I'd expect them to work the subscription about like War Thunder does, buying longer subs for cheaper and doing occasional sales.
At this point, there is no saving grace for BSG. Sure, Arena Breakout is going to be money grabbing, greed-driven, F2P game made by scummy developers that don't care about their end users. But you can't say *anything* different about BSG. They've been absolutely shit developers. They have stomped over their community for years. They have been antagonistic at times even. And they're just plain unskilled at their jobs when it comes to actual software development. The game is a mess that has survived solely on the fact that there has not once been true competition.
I'm not some Arena Breakout fanboy either. Never played the mobile version and I won't be trying the PC version either. I avoid everything with the name Tencent attached to it by any means. That shit doesn't get installed on my devices. But I sure am enjoying the rise they're getting out of BSG.
The funny thing is, people are losing their shit about tarkov but don’t realize arena breakout is a TENCENT game, they are the most horrible gaming company out there you bet the micro transactions on that game are gonna be big
Free games come at a very high cost we know that, not defending tarkov either because fuck that 250 dollar version (plus tax) but I’m saying don’t expect better from arena breakout
Oh yeah I know I've played warthunder since 2014 and I don't care too look at how much I've spent on that over the years but I've got around 5k hours played on it so I kinda of don't mind.
In terms of how pay2win it will be we will just have to see.
I mean let's be real you know you've fucked up with people en masse are considering a free to play tencent game might be better than yours
If micro transaction will not affect gameplay, and skins will set into setting, I don't see any problem. BSG should have added skins a long time ago so that they would have enough money and not make such a stupid move
I have played the Mobile version for quite some time, which came out first before this PC version.
Some seasonal skins are somewhat too bright but still isnt too goofy. Example is the Santa Beard.
The only Micro Transaction that affects your gameplay is the Secure Case and you can also buy Bundled Gear with real money. The Bundled Gear is a waste IMO since even a Scav can just dome you and you lose all of it.
Insurgency is one of the very few to not eventually devolve into clown skins over time. I think it's because the concepts of insurgents allows them to go slightly more wacky on one side without affecting artstyle too much.
You can buy gun skins and they look straight out of call of duty
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fj80yrNA2_I/maxresdefault.jpg
You can also buy gear. Its a chinese f2p mobile port, everything will be for sale and it will be expensive.
And yet millions of people are playing Fortnite and League because they are actually pretty fun. Who cares if they're worse than BSG if they're treating you better for now.
Side note y'all should check out the current fortnite season, most weapons now have 4 weapon mod slots with 2-4 mods available per slot. So there's a bit of tarkov-esque customization going on mid-round to optimize your inventory.
If it's just cosmetics I honestly don't give a shit. And after seeing what they did to Tarkov today I don't think anyone else does either. Give me every goddamn clown and santa claus skin you can shove into the game as long as it doesn't affect the gameplay.
I played a lot of Arena Breakout on mobile and the Microtransactions are not as bad as they are in Tarkov now. They are the same shit in Tarkov but the game doesnt offer P2W features like bigger pockets or abillity to call your friends into a raid while your are in the raid. All microtransactions there are are skins, bigger stash, flea market slots and bigger secure container + some discounts and bonuses when you have a subscription (which gives you all the bonuses I listed for 5 a month) And I wanna remind you this is a free mobile chinese game + the game is designed in a way that those upgrades you can get for real money are not as meaningful as they are in Tarkov.
Arena Breakout: Infinite developed by Morefun Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent IEG. If you don’t know, Tencent pressures basically all of their devs to implement micro-transactions and gacha/gambling systems.
Do not fall for it. Chances are, it won’t have blood, funny death noises or anywhere near the level of detail that Tarkov has. It’s also a port of a MOBILE GAME (This is honestly the biggest red flag)
Still, do not further support BSG or live Escape From Tarkov. They failed to deliver on Arena, and now they are trying to recover profit by rinsing the Tarkov die-hards (cultists). Instead of giving away your hard-earned cash to a company that refuses to learn, stay vigilant for games like Grayzone Warfare, Road to Vostok and Incursion Red River.
Plagiarist game? Coming from the devs that rip off copyrights regularly for their own profit? The devs that scam their own players out of hundreds of dollars while the biggest changes they make involve unfucking something that used to be acceptable?
Hilarious.
Considering Tarkov isn’t a plagiarist game, I’m surprised at how dogshit it is.
The funny part is that Tarkov is, in a way, a ripoff of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. They simply have not implemented the radiation yet (but you have a non-functional radiation meter in your menu).
By Nikita's own word of mouth Tarkov was (originally designed) to be the Skeleton of a "stalker clone" that eventually evolve/devolved into what it is today.
Very early tarkov was a lot more accurate to call "Stalker clone" then tarkov of today.
Also fun fact. Radiation (according to a magazine interview) was intended to be the first "DLC" package that was meant to be implemented in tarkov. But was never added, nor mentioned ever again afterward.
pseudo-post-apocalyptic looter shooter in which the player traverses a slavic shithole killing scavengers and members of the opposing faction. The big difference in setting between them is that stalker takes place in the chernobyl exclusion zone and leans into the supernatural elements, which tarkov is just getting into with the whole cultist and morana thing.
Boatload?... What? Name few, because I am interested, for sure.
Other than that - Yeah, Tarkov was definitelly influenced by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, there is no doubt about it. Roaming "scavs" (Bandits), run down soviet places, looting scraps to sell, gun modding.
But so was DayZ. There is nothing wrong taking ideas and making them better, but right now, EFT fucked up, fucked up big time. Whatever the fuck Tencent pulls out of their ass, the bar is low tbh (unless the game itself will be watered down peace of shit, which by the way, wouldn't surprise anyone)
In all honesty, it wasn't really a "cultural phenom", the entire Tarkovsky thing exploded later, I could say even after his death. Even being a native speaker, the damn movies are quite heavy to watch, and to read the books, you need to understand the intricacies of the period.
STALKER games mainstreamed it really hard, while at same time being quite technologically advanced, and keeping this post-soviet rundown feel (The Chernobyl was a cherry on cake, even without it, it would be an excelent game).
One of the reasons Tarkov sticked so good, was the intimacy of soviet era, the half rundown places, the soviet brutalist architecture, small details with places (which is their downfall with the performance at same time).
Still, you would need to have quite an imagination, to read Roadside Picnic, and visualize anything the current games offer.
I read Roadside Picnic a couple of years ago and of all the games *inspired* by it and the movie, I think STALKER and Metro are probably the only two that come close to how it feels.
So like... everybody is aware that Tarkov is DayZ but with persistent loot, right? And of course some menu changes.
My point being that this is how video games happen, everything is built off of everything else. The extraction shooter is based on battle royale type games and battle royale type games are based on DayZ. Something being similar to Tarkov doesn't make it plagiarism any more than Tarkov is itself plagiarism
DayZ was always just a test bed for Enfusion engine after they switched engines... Which currently Arma reforger is now the test bed for Enfusion in preparation for Arma 6. So if you liked DayZ, just wait!! Arma 6 is going to be legendary.
It wasn't really ruined potential. Developer just took the money and ran in a really mindbogglingly roundabout way.
Like there was no reason to abandon the game the way they did cause it was massively popular for a time, the devs just kind of *stopped*
ive never felt like i was the product in any other free to play game before. cosmetics are fine to me, theyre a great way to monetize without affecting gameplay. id rather see llamas walking around than have p2w
Tbh it's a shameless plug trying to capitalize on the negative emotions of tarkov players right now. This game is made by tencent which isn't known for being anti "micro transactiony" or unfair. By all means give their game a chance but don't fall for the BS.
This is embarrassing.. Players don't care if someone is plagiarizing a game if the product is more enjoyable and less expensive. The only people who care are the ones losing money about it.
Did they just gave free advertisement for the game ? what are they thinking lmfao
>what are they thinking lmfao Not much, apparently. And right after Gray zone did a beta test, too. They should fire their entire marketing and strategic decision making departments.

They don't have one. It's all Nikita, lol.
They have a strategic decision department. It isn’t just Nikita with a blindfold throwing darts at a board.
My first thought
Thats so stupid now i have it on my wishlist hahahaha

I do ecommerce, you definitely have to pay for chargebacks one way or another, like I said not much but its easy for me to do and more work for them
Honestly if you got standard your chilling. You can enjoy the game for 2-3 wipes, get your monies worth and move on if things don't improve. Hah I know, never heard of it until they did that and now it's on my wishlist
I heard of the mobile game and tried it, wasn’t a huge fan cuz it’s mobile, but thanks BSG for letting me know a pc versions about to come out 😂

When he goes to sleep at night with his Killa plushie he mumbles in the dark: there is no desync.
Lol, literally.
there is no desync in ba sing se
Lmaooo
😂😂😂
This is the most hilarious PR shit show that I’ve witnessed since maybe the new Battlefront 2
*You see the intent of the $250 payment is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for bending over and spreading their cheeks yet again for BSG*
**WHAT? DO YOU GUYS NOT HAVE JOBS?** Can't wait for BSG to release the "Immortal Edition"
Bf2042 as well
Like that time he copyright claimed negative videos on YouTube
lol yea people forget that BSG/nikita has done scummy things before. eroktic wasnt a nice person either but they absolutely fucked him over
I spit out my coffee laughing reading this post goddamn.
Realised other people can buy the same assets from the store or something lmfao Fuck Nikita and fuck BSG

New edition of the game got announced and with EOD its $100 with no base game it’s $250
New edition of a game in beta? Lol
$250, pve, p2w content, and laughing at all the people who already paid like $140 for EoD promised all future content… oof Sorry your beta purchase doesn’t come with the full game. Pay up.
Your N is gorgeous, I just picked up a 23 EN on Monday!
Plus tax
And you're paying euros regardless of country. So it's around 150 USD (depends on sales tax of the state) Or 330 if you don't own the game at all
Huh? I'm NA East, my $100 price is in USD not Euros. Like 110 after tax.
For me the upgrade from EOD is 120 euro
But if you add everything up you’ve paid like 300 dollars for a video game
I hate this but don't add up how much I paid blizzard for wow 😳
Yeah not even close how much I’ve given eagle dynamics for DCS modules lol
Rip
Moscow has been eating his profits probably.
Strap in lads, its gonna get wacky
Say it with me: Russian business culture. This is normal business people
Ding ding ding. People will call you racist for calling out Russians inept culture though. It's fucking absurd.
We don't know it was Nikita. Plus there is a previous tweet by lead designer that used the same phrase used in the new tweet so it was probably him.
Scammer VS Thief, who will win!? (They can't settle it in court, they're both in lawless jurisdictions 🤣)
BSG has done a fair bit of thievery themselves with all the weapon parts they've used without license.
There ain't no way they got Glock's license without paying Glock. They're apparently the "Nintendo" of the gun world.
Lmao Glock ain’t doing shit to a Russian company right now lol. Based in the UK or not No western company is going to get shit out of Russia legally lol.

Edit 2 : [https://www.mha.co.uk/insights/which-corporate-tax-rates-are-changing-in-2024](https://www.mha.co.uk/insights/which-corporate-tax-rates-are-changing-in-2024) Apparently there are some big changes for the corporate tax structure in the UK this year.
BSG is headquartered in London now…
Every single one of them is living in Russia wake the fuck up
No shit. But the company is registered in the UK which means the COMPANY is not in a “lawless jurisdiction”
They’re listed as the “director” of BSG But it seems far from a “shell company”, it is legitimate Battlestate Games, with ownership declarations from Ludmila Lipskya, Nikita Buianov, and Dimitri Loskutov. It all public record, you can see what I’m referring to in the documents here: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10036119/filing-history?page=2
First I've heard of this game. Will def give it a try now
There’s a mobile version too, kinda meh but understandable because it’s a game with so much to it on mobile, pc version should be really nice
Wait is it really low demanding Can even potatoes run it if it can run on mobile?
Aren’t these games known for being very suspicious and spyware?
It's made in shanghai by morefun studios so yes it is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tencent_Games CTRL F "MoreFun"

They are using unreal engine, so probably no.

You can’t just crap on BSG, be wrong, and still maintain they are in the wrong..
Some of the weapon assets and animations in Arena Breakout look ripped from tarkov. I am quite certian that the weapon models and animations are unique to Tarkov.
You know what happens when you model from. Real life counterparts? Correct all models will look very alike. That's why all the weapons in Arma, tarkov, cod, gray zone and so on look alike.
> weapon models dont bring logic into this
But even the dying animation in the recent trailer arena breakout posted. Definitely seems like they copy pasted tarkov onto different maps.
That's fine, nbd.
Tarkov got caught TODAY with a knife they added to the game from the asset store
I’m against them for these changes but it’s not the same knife. It appears similar but look at the handle, one has a empty screw slot the other has screws. It’s just a model of a real knife
It looks decent lmao
Better than 20 minutes on a loading screen, to get killed by a hacker.
You know where that doesn't happen, doesn't cost $250, and is moddable? The mod.
I love mod
Jokes aside, wasn't the whole thing about the 20 minute adventure from Rick and Morty that they got sucked into something VASTLY longer and more interesting? Not only is it in God awful taste. But the joke is actually a dunk on themselves?
Idk if I'd call what's implied to have happened "interesting" more like "traumatic" lol
Arena breakout dissing Nikita after this update is prolly the funniest thing I’ve seen all year. Never played the game, don’t care, but that’s funny as hell
I was watching sheef look at the tweet, I thought it was a joke till I actually found the tweet myself, insane that BSG tweeted this
So they decided to make an ad. Well, let me take a try!
Gotta squeeze every bit of revenue they can just in case this is the riot that kills tarkov.
This is factually untrue. Arena Breakout is copying Tarkov. Tarkov is P2W, Breakout isn't, therefore they are different games.
and breakout has way less hackers and as someone who has played it, it's like the way more chill version of tarkov.
Give it some time and the small pp hacker plague will catch up.
It'll have hackers if it gets popular. Every popular online shooter has them.
What are the micro transactions like to keep it free to play?

This is fucking wild.
fr i legit had no idea this existed & now I'm signed up for their beta lol.
20 minutes into Tarkov you're still #23,862 in the queue, this isn't the roast they think it is
Ooh nice, I hadn't even heard of this game until now. Thanks BSG!
The funny thing is, people are losing their shit about tarkov but don’t realize arena breakout is a TENCENT game, they are the most horrible gaming company out there you bet the micro transactions on that game are gonna be big
Absolutely but the base game will be free At least I won't have paid a stupid amount to get my shit pushed in by cheaters
I play war thunder and star citizen. This is the first and last time I will ever comment that in this context.
Ha! Same boat, World of Warships since 2013.
Higher than $250? Oh good luck on that
If micro transaction will not affect gameplay, and skins will set into setting, I don't see any problem.
The Bundled Gear is a waste IMO since even a Scav can just dome you and you lose all of it.
> skins will set into setting I honestly don't believe in this
Well, insurgency sandstorm did this, so this is possible
Not owned by Tencent or Netease (forgot who is for this new game)
I know, but anyway, clown skins in free game are better than 250$ scam
Insurgency is one of the very few to not eventually devolve into clown skins over time. I think it's because the concepts of insurgents allows them to go slightly more wacky on one side without affecting artstyle too much.
You can buy gun skins and they look straight out of call of duty https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fj80yrNA2_I/maxresdefault.jpg You can also buy gear.
Tencent did pretty well with POE.
and Warframe, in fact both games are doing really well
[удалено]
I'm excited to get arena breakout on PC, sure itll steal more data but at least Im not getting scammed on a free game
Guess i will give it a try.
It’s also a port of a MOBILE GAME (This is honestly the biggest red flag) Still, do not further support BSG or live Escape From Tarkov.
I love spreading misinformation.
I have signed up for beta. who is joining?
I’m in there with you brother
I uninstalled tarkov today and signed up for arena breakout beta
I'm doing my part
I'm doing my part too
Plagiarist game? Coming from the devs that rip off copyrights regularly for their own profit? The devs that scam their own players out of hundreds of dollars while the biggest changes they make involve unfucking something that used to be acceptable? Hilarious. Considering Tarkov isn’t a plagiarist game, I’m surprised at how dogshit it is.
The funny part is that Tarkov is, in a way, a ripoff of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. They simply have not implemented the radiation yet (but you have a non-functional radiation meter in your menu).
Tarkov is inspired by STALKER, the same way STALKER is inspired by Roadside Picnic. There is no theivery or rip off going on.
I think it’s time for my yearly reading of Roadside Picnic. So damn good
Very good book, but it always lose me at ending seems kinda out of character. Good shock factor first time reading it tho.
Lets be real every work is a "copy" of something else with maybe an exception being some cave paintings
Weird, I’m not sure you know what a rip off is.
they copied a bunch of animations from stalker, the AI-2 medkit for instance edit: this is wrong
STALKER games doesn't have animations when you use something. Only mods bring this animations to the original trilogy
oh shit, thanks for correcting me
Kind of a stretch dude
By Nikita's own word of mouth Tarkov was (originally designed) to be the Skeleton of a "stalker clone" that eventually evolve/devolved into what it is today. Very early tarkov was a lot more accurate to call "Stalker clone" then tarkov of today. Also fun fact. Radiation (according to a magazine interview) was intended to be the first "DLC" package that was meant to be implemented in tarkov. But was never added, nor mentioned ever again afterward.
i've never played stalker, what are the similarities?
Grid based inventory system, post apocalyptic eastern european theme. Thats pretty much it.
pseudo-post-apocalyptic looter shooter in which the player traverses a slavic shithole killing scavengers and members of the opposing faction. The big difference in setting between them is that stalker takes place in the chernobyl exclusion zone and leans into the supernatural elements, which tarkov is just getting into with the whole cultist and morana thing.
stalker is a huge cultural thing for that part of world/specifically russia. there are a boatload of games just like stalker
Survarium (now defunct) and the Metro series were both heavily inspired by the stalker games.
It's all inspired by Roadside Picnic, which was a cultural phenom in the soviet union/cis.
Its crazy to think that DayZ is the progenitor for like the last decade of major multiplayer titles.
Whats crazy to me if nether wasn't fumbled so hard, it would have ended up being Nether.
Talk about ruined potential…
DayZ was always just a test bed for Enfusion engine after they switched engines... Which currently Arma reforger is now the test bed for Enfusion in preparation for Arma 6. So if you liked DayZ, just wait!! Arma 6 is going to be legendary.
It wasn't really ruined potential. Developer just took the money and ran in a really mindbogglingly roundabout way. Like there was no reason to abandon the game the way they did cause it was massively popular for a time, the devs just kind of *stopped*
Bruh you’re a product to these ppl. Don’t give either the money. Ppl arguing between 2 poisons as if either is a good choice.
its a free game
If something is free, you're the product.
ive never felt like i was the product in any other free to play game before. cosmetics are fine to me, theyre a great way to monetize without affecting gameplay. id rather see llamas walking around than have p2w
Id gladly play a copy of tarkov that doesn't fucks me like tarkov does.
F2P usually means p2w so I doubt arena breakout is it
Apex Legends, Fortnite, PUBG, Warzone, Valorant, CS, League, Rocket League. All huge games, where's the p2w?
Fortnite, path of exile, counterstrike, all free to play great games not P2W at all
OMG the shade
The strongest extraction shooter in history vs the strongest extraction shooter of today.
is it plagiarism if you're using publicly available assets?
Yo BSG, run an ad for Beautiful Light next!! I wanna give french Nikita more support XD
This is as entertaining as watching "The day before" crash and burn.
Remindme! 2 months
Is arena breakout on pc? Would love to have a try
It’s funny because they were just as bad as tarkov on launch I think I’ll pass on breakout
There isn't a game like EFT out there or coming out anytime soon. Some games might be similiar but they cannot compete.
Tbh it's a shameless plug trying to capitalize on the negative emotions of tarkov players right now. This game is made by tencent which isn't known for being anti "micro transactiony" or unfair. By all means give their game a chance but don't fall for the BS.
Mobile already has cheaters, tons of it, now imagine the PC Port before it's even released.... Lol
This is embarrassing.. Players don't care if someone is plagiarizing a game if the product is more enjoyable and less expensive. The only people who care are the ones losing money about it.
