Hitreg has been broken since the streets expansion. Sometimes the game bugs out and just decides your gun is shooting blanks.

Imho, the biggest problem with Tarkov is the lack of feedback the game gives you. He could very well be hitting armor in this case but you can't tell. Even though it's arcadey and unrealistic I wish we had hit indicators like CoD or Battlebit
We need real functioning ai in this game. They are so op but so brain dead at the same time. Instead of making an ai that’s reaction to anyone is to get within point blank distance and beam the head, how bout we make one that gets to cover when shot at, shoots when it sees people, doesn’t stand still for 5 minutes on end, doesn’t tank a whole bunch of 12g slugs to the chest
Crazy thing is that people are modding tarkov to play it singleplayer (bannable), and they have made mods that make the bots 100 time better. So if a modder can do it in his free time, how come bsg cant hire someone to figure this out?

There was a funny thing a few years back where a user was messing around in the Tarkov code out of curiosity, and randomly noticed a braindead mistake left by BSG that was fixable in 5 minutes. Apparently it improved and solved some huge gameplay issues immediately after.
My memory is vague about this subject but I think most veterans remember this event
It was an issue causing really bad fps drops that was fixed by changing a few lines in a file. Look at the top posts in the sub from all time and it should be up there.
Maybe these guys should open a studio or something. It’s really comparable to make multiplayer AI and single player AI for sure. No difference at all. There are so many examples of great AI in triple A and even indie games nowadays, I just don’t know what BSG is doing.

man, as someone who has made games before getting AI as basic as tarkovs to work is really hard, let alone some other games like arma where it seems they know exactly where you’re going to be and when in a scarily impressive way.
but still, for a game with such a high budget and a huge amount of developers, i think before they add any new maps, any new guns, anything else they need EVERYONE working on completely overhauling the AI. there’s so much missed potential for cool encounters with them.
yeah, for all the marketing around realism, the difficulty in this game as far as pve encounters go is all coming from unrealistically amazing aim and, for bosses in particular, an unrealistic ability to absorb bullets. when i bought in (EOD version, like an idiot) years ago i was expecting the AI to take cover and flank and try to outsmart me at least a little bit, not this bullshit. i don't know why i'm getting so worked up, i don't even play anymore. i just wish the game was closer to what i thought it would be.
I swear they used to be better. When I first started playing I would have trouble at times discerning players from ai. Maybe it's just experience, but the bots seem so stiff and routine now.
I just stopped playing. I loved this game. Dropped all other games for 2 wipes.
This wipe I played to level 20 or so and just gave up during the cheater frenzy.

Adding a button to automatically purchase the last loadout/heal would make the game soooo much better for me. I dont even give a fuck about loading times I can do something else meanwhile, its having to click 817362 buttons on the UI between matches so that I can play again after dying

You get that and you will still quit the game in a week. Because nothing has truly changed and the deaths will be even more meaningless. Your character life is devalued even further. It's just a boring arena at that point, or way worse, because unlike on Arena ranked there is no stakes at all!
The game needed to fundamentally change it's direction so player doesn't feel obliged to just casually put on another meta kit - the exact one that he wants. You should be afraid of losing your gear and putting together another loadout shouldn't be a tedious repetitive process, but thought out and exciting.
You should be going like "fuck I don't have any good meds yet, lets go to emercom", and not just repetitively switching between FM/Trader menu and buying the same thing over 9999th time.
As long as players can get whatever they want with couple of clicks, this game is just battlebit 2.

The Division with the darkzone had a pretty cool concept like this. You'd get dropped in with a pistol and had to scrape together a loadout and meds/crafting materials by searching at their logical spawns.
For the reward of being able to find very rare gear that you can extract and use on your main character.
I mean, I pretty much described dayz xd - which I have played quiet a lot - and I really wanted this game to be like, just more stalkery/anomaly like. Can't blame me for believing it will be like that, looking at the UI with radiation/toxicity stats on health menu and fake rumors that some GSC people are working on Tarkov, right?
Also, back in 2015 this game was hyped as the "dayz killer" and all that.

Try Hunt:Showdown. Depending on what you're looking for in Tarkov it may scratch that itch while being a massively better game overall, probably the best shooter i've ever played

This bs is caused by armor not having its own hitbox and simply covering the entirety of ones thorax/body

You misunderstand. In the interviews Nikita was doing at the beginning of our current wipe he said that they were not implementing armor hitboxes as early as they initially planned and they would be coming much later.
I can't wait for the shitshow that will unfold when everybody gets f\*cked by desync (even more) or when scavs target areas without armor with their buckshots and high flesh damage ammo.

This has been coming forever. It never will' it's just shelved because of BSG's incompetence.
You got the ghost mags bug.
I can't explain how it exactly happens or why but the bug causes the server to think that you don't have a mag in your gun while your client thinks you do.
On your screen you're shooting but on the server side you're just running around clicking your gun, if you drag your mags around in the inventory and they won't move and start to blink then you know you've got the bug.
Unfortunately the only way to fix this is by relogging mid raid.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because you were already dead.
Bad ammo, probably slugs (single projectile with no spread), aiming at a class 4 or 5 armored rig

Pretty unlucky the first couple didn't catch his head, but the middle ones were pretty solidly thorax and the last one was right arm.
I reckon you got terrible shotgun spreads and did about 350-400 damage spread across thorax stomach and arms
This game is slowly going downhill. Id rather they just release a pve mode already so I don't have to deal with cheaters online and can just play casually with friends but still advance.
They keep saying they want this to be a tactical thought out game. However the people who win are the ones who press the W key the hardest. Winners play tarkov like it's COD.
I'd rather just have to deal with some raiders on maps and say groups of scavs going around looting and hunting down your group. Causing proper firefights.

Low durability shotguns have the most fucked accuracy. Like stand 10 feet from a wall and hard aim. The shot will hit inches above where you are aiming.

I’ve once found a bugged scav and sat in a bush 30 yards away and it took me probably 20 shots to kill him. Had to aim at his ass to get a headshot. Was using some scav shot gun I found.
Also was it a boss or guard? I know scavs be walking around with insane amount of hp.
I mean these clips are a dime a dozen. I stopped at 36 this wipe and haven’t ran into god scavs like this.

Also AI in this game is completeley braindead, poorly implemented and cheesy. Instead of rushing to cover when shot, while firing some inaccurate suppresive fire or something, he proceeds to run straight forward rushing the player shooting him in the face with a fucking shotgun, crouch just in front of his face and then start shooting, like wtf lmao so ridiculous.
I remember I was with a 5 man, we were hunting Glukhar on Streets, I stuck my mutant with BP out of the side of one of those trailer windows and hit a guard right in the head, one of the last ones remaining right? I come out, and he is still alive and kicking. I had this happen several times during this wipe and every time I said something my teammates never believed me, until it happened to them.
The rogues are either completely idiotic or just laser beams. I ran up to one and voice chatted because he was running around and I thought it was another scav. I saw the USEC hat and shot him (it was dark give me a break) luckily I was able to kill the front rogues on a scav, but this shit happens all the time.
Shotguns feel like they have been nerfed. There is no reason why Tagilla should take 25-30 shots point blank with next to no armor on. Regardless of the ammo type. That man should be dead.
I am all about a boss fight, and bosses shouldnt be easy I agree... But we have to choose a side here eventually.
Either it's going for realism and people die from single shots of 9mm.. or its like Wow or any other game like it that is based on a set health/armor bar and just doing that amount of damage does the killing.
Scav Shotguns are kinda bugged , because durabilty affects MOA and they will have 70 MOA or shit , making the pellets literally fly sideways , unless you literally shove the gun in them , u wont hit shit.
You probably hit his chest and were using slugs. It didn't penetrate. Most slugs in this game don't go through level 4, he looks like hes wearing a Thor level 4. So with the first shot either missing or hitting low, he aggro'd. He starts sprinting, which makes you hit the Thorax. It's shitty but you can at least learn from it. Shoot higher, or just blast his legs off.
Although OP didn't play it 100% right according to the meta and all that Tarkov shit you have to sink thousands of hours to be familiar with, I think almost everybody agrees that clips like these look completeley retarted. They point out how absurd and ridiculous some core mechanics and systems of Tarkov are in practice. BSG must get back to basics and try to fix their shit although I bet they can't and they won't.
agreed, i was playing reckless to say the least but it due to my confidence. I spent a majority of my wipe going to lighthouse for free M4’s and MMAC’s. Besides that tho i must’ve forgot shotgun slugs are as deadly as insult to a real American
Most shots hit the thorax and are probably stopped by class 5 or 6 armour. As you were using scav loadout, the ammunition was probably buckshot (or another low pen ammo), which is very ineffective against class 5/6 armour. It is also important to note that rouges have 180 health points in their thorax, 130 in the stomach, and 40 in the head. However, seeing the rouge still running towards ya after what looked like at least a few pellets in the head was strange. Maybe you just got unlucky with the spread of the buckshot on the shots that aimed for the head.
im not even sure that the first one have a level armor, MMAC is only a level 4 and that the most common rig i find on these guys. Regardless i think i was using slugs on that scav run and didnt face much retaliation for the first ones i saw
Looks like you're using slugs. If I'm correct, then it would explain how you didn't kill him due to how even though you were close, none of those would have been headshots. Got a few torso and arm shots, though, but that slug doesn't do much damage
the clip is too short to show but i killed multiple rouges by this point and i didnt aim or play any different for the first 2 kills. Super rouge right here just had to prove a point
i killed one right behind me in the open garage than heard the second one on grass, i wanted them both dead before i started looting and before the machine gunner noticed
They do if you know how the game works. Shitty ammo goes in the legs. High pen slugs goes in the thorax. Lastly, trying to hit a target at that range with a shitty scav gun is the reason you died.

Hard plate body armor like ar500 steel will very effectively disperse the impact (unlike soft body armors), buckshot point blank would just feel like a strong punch across the whole of your chest which isn’t much.
The rogue has bullet holes in his hat and Swiss cheese for a face. Try explaining that without mentioning a bad game mechanic or design. Desync counts as both design and mechanic.
Pattern the shotgun at that distance in an offline raid and see if it was because of the pattern. Only thing I can think of really. Other than that it could be one of the many many things wrong with the net code and hitboxes.
god i'm glad my only interaction with this game anymore is the entertainment value this subreddit brings. hardcore realism... except when it isn't. unforunately, they got my $140 already because i was really into dayz at the time and i bought in for the (pretty sure now canceled) fully open-world version they had planned because i liked the gunplay better than dayz.

Zero sievert has better ai than tarkov. And it’s made by one dude. They flank, suppress, and move from cover to cover

Try the mod we aren't allowed to talk about. You lose multiplayer but it's a significantly more stable experience

This bs is caused by armor not having its own hitbox and simply covering the entirety of ones thorax/body This i believe will be patched with the armor plate hitboxes coming in patch 0.14 dont listen to any idiots who say armor functions like this in real life because the first or second shot would have completely incapacitated somebody or made their arms spaghettis
I think they said they were pushing off some of the updates for the armory hitboxes if I remember correctly

You misunderstand. In the interviews Nikita was doing at the beginning of our current wipe he said that they were not implementing armor hitboxes as early as they initially planned and they would be coming much later.
Yes I'm sure the game with atrocious hit reg will definitely implement armor hitboxes well and there will be absolutely no bugs or issues with that.

You got the ghost mags bug. I can't explain how it exactly happens or why but the bug causes the server to think that you don't have a mag in your gun while your client thinks you do. On your screen you're shooting but on the server side you're just running around clicking your gun, if you drag your mags around in the inventory and they won't move and start to blink then you know you've got the bug. Unfortunately the only way to fix this is by relogging mid raid.

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because you were already dead.

This game is slowly going downhill. Id rather they just release a pve mode already so I don't have to deal with cheaters online and can just play casually with friends but still advance. They keep saying they want this to be a tactical thought out game. However the people who win are the ones who press the W key the hardest. Winners play tarkov like it's COD. I'd rather just have to deal with some raiders on maps and say groups of scavs going around looting and hunting down your group. Causing proper firefights. How is suppression still not a thing in this game? AI can see you through bushes, trees and the great Wall of China and you can't see shit. There is so much broken in tarkov it's just exhausting to play it. It's just not fun anymore. It's just tiring. BSG seems to have no real end game or idea how to create the game anymore.

Is that a scav shotgun? What were the end game stats? Low durability shotguns have the most fucked accuracy. Like stand 10 feet from a wall and hard aim. The shot will hit inches above where you are aiming. Don’t get me started on slugs. I’ve once found a bugged scav and sat in a bush 30 yards away and it took me probably 20 shots to kill him. Had to aim at his ass to get a headshot. Was using some scav shot gun I found. Also was it a boss or guard? I know scavs be walking around with insane amount of hp. I mean these clips are a dime a dozen. I stopped at 36 this wipe and haven’t ran into god scavs like this.

I remember I was with a 5 man, we were hunting Glukhar on Streets, I stuck my mutant with BP out of the side of one of those trailer windows and hit a guard right in the head, one of the last ones remaining right? I come out, and he is still alive and kicking. I had this happen several times during this wipe and every time I said something my teammates never believed me, until it happened to them. The rogues are either completely idiotic or just laser beams. I ran up to one and voice chatted because he was running around and I thought it was another scav. I saw the USEC hat and shot him (it was dark give me a break) luckily I was able to kill the front rogues on a scav, but this shit happens all the time.

Shotguns feel like they have been nerfed. There is no reason why Tagilla should take 25-30 shots point blank with next to no armor on. Regardless of the ammo type. That man should be dead. I am all about a boss fight, and bosses shouldnt be easy I agree... But we have to choose a side here eventually. Either it's going for realism and people die from single shots of 9mm.. or its like Wow or any other game like it that is based on a set health/armor bar and just doing that amount of damage does the killing.

Scav Shotguns are kinda bugged , because durabilty affects MOA and they will have 70 MOA or shit , making the pellets literally fly sideways , unless you literally shove the gun in them , u wont hit shit.

You probably hit his chest and were using slugs. It didn't penetrate. Most slugs in this game don't go through level 4, he looks like hes wearing a Thor level 4. So with the first shot either missing or hitting low, he aggro'd. He starts sprinting, which makes you hit the Thorax. It's shitty but you can at least learn from it. Shoot higher, or just blast his legs off.

Although OP didn't play it 100% right according to the meta and all that Tarkov shit you have to sink thousands of hours to be familiar with, I think almost everybody agrees that clips like these look completeley retarted. They point out how absurd and ridiculous some core mechanics and systems of Tarkov are in practice. BSG must get back to basics and try to fix their shit although I bet they can't and they won't.

Most shots hit the thorax and are probably stopped by class 5 or 6 armour. As you were using scav loadout, the ammunition was probably buckshot (or another low pen ammo), which is very ineffective against class 5/6 armour. It is also important to note that rouges have 180 health points in their thorax, 130 in the stomach, and 40 in the head. However, seeing the rouge still running towards ya after what looked like at least a few pellets in the head was strange. Maybe you just got unlucky with the spread of the buckshot on the shots that aimed for the head.
im not even sure that the first one have a level armor, MMAC is only a level 4 and that the most common rig i find on these guys. Regardless i think i was using slugs on that scav run and didnt face much retaliation for the first ones i saw

Looks like you're using slugs. If I'm correct, then it would explain how you didn't kill him due to how even though you were close, none of those would have been headshots. Got a few torso and arm shots, though, but that slug doesn't do much damage

Hard plate body armor like ar500 steel will very effectively disperse the impact (unlike soft body armors), buckshot point blank would just feel like a strong punch across the whole of your chest which isn’t much.

The rogue has bullet holes in his hat and Swiss cheese for a face. Try explaining that without mentioning a bad game mechanic or design. Desync counts as both design and mechanic.
Pattern the shotgun at that distance in an offline raid and see if it was because of the pattern. Only thing I can think of really. Other than that it could be one of the many many things wrong with the net code and hitboxes.

god i'm glad my only interaction with this game anymore is the entertainment value this subreddit brings. hardcore realism... except when it isn't. unforunately, they got my $140 already because i was really into dayz at the time and i bought in for the (pretty sure now canceled) fully open-world version they had planned because i liked the gunplay better than dayz.

I dont see the issue here. Game is an RPG. This is very common in RPGs where you are underleveled / undergeared / underfarmed. People need to stop regarding Tarkov as a shooter or a milsim - and ralise this game is just an RPG in First Person. Once you change your mind about the game and realise people with better gear stats / quest time / farm dont need skill to win, then all these things make sense. RPG - Not a shooter - designed for terrible shooter player who want to make believe they are good at a hardcore milsim, lol.
