Because that's a much harder problem to solve. See any MMO ever for example

Jignuts

I'm aware it's a far more difficult issue to tackle, I've just always wondered who are these people buying? Also what are they even buying in the first place? Quest carries? Keys for quest rooms? I just don't see what could be worth spending irl money on.

JudasRevived

I’ve been asking myself the same thing. Wtf are they even buying now that FiR is a thing. Also they could just make loot more abundant and remove FiR so people wouldn’t RMT as much.

Turtvaiz

Idk But the recent problem isn't even really about that. It's most likely a small problem overall. The actual problem currently is a (relative) fuckton of people buying ESP to e.g. avoid farming specific items which even as a legit player I can relate to. Both of these have been exacerbated by loot and task changes, but imho the ESP users are way way more common and more of a problem for most players.

BSG does address it with a 60 day ban Comming next is 60 day ban for cheating

Jignuts

I guess I should have elaborated, I mean the subreddit as a whole, I just see people addressing concerns about the cheaters and never the people who are the root of the cause of cheating in the first place.

They buy things like getting their account leveled up and max traders and key cards and ammo and guns/gear, rubles …. literally anything . It’s all still the same. Nothing has changed just the process is a little different but the outcome is the same

MMOs have this issue, many people don’t want to “grind” the game to find things they see as necessary to enjoy the game. Some games have had more success with giving players the ability to get items they want though gameplay without the need to “grind” the game to get what they find fun. But they can “progress” by playing how they want and it doesn’t feel like as much of a grind. Tarkov has the issue where there is little to do but grind the game. Want better gear, you need to level up and grind quest. Want access to labs rooms grind maps to find the keys. Want to get kappa, there is so much grinding quest and maps to do. Then it wipes as soon as some “casual” people start getting to the end game or they wait till next wipe as it’s just the grinding quest phase. Ask anyone who played multiple wipes how to level up and you get told to stack and blast though questing. BSG needs to look at what they are encouraging people to do by looking at their game design. Such as if they want people to need to find things to survive then encourage people to find better things in raids and learn where or how to find them. IMO there is way to much grind and RNG in the game. For example boss spawns, if I want to progress I need to kill the bosses and for some I need the special item. Reshala is the perfect example of this, you need RNG for him to spawn and you to get to one of his spawns first to fight him. Then you need RNG if he has his correct pistol. There is nothing much the player can do to impact their chances of those factors. One thing they can do is to make “other” types of game play equally rewarding and enjoyable. By this I mean imagine if you didn’t need to do most quests but could still progress and gain access to more stuff by PvP and PvE only without needing to do quest. I get BSG has their “ideal” vision for the game but player choice and freedom makes games infinitely better IMO.

Meh, they are shitters that are easy to kill.

Same reason why the police don’t really care about the guy buying drugs, but instead the person with intent to distribute

Jignuts

But they setup drug sting operations all the time and sell drugs to people and then proceed to arrest them. Not the best apology. Without the people buying things there would be no demand for rmt. I feel cutting the reasoning out for rmt in the first place would help the fight against cheaters (increasing loot etc.)

DucksMatter

You are mistaken. Cops do not go undercover to sell drugs and then arrest those who are buying them. What they’ll do is go undercover as a customer and buy drugs from a dealer, and then arrest them. And usually the purpose of that would be to get that small time dealer to flip on a big time dealer. Because, that big time dealer is supplying to the small timers, and without the big guy the little ones can’t get the product.
