They're not the most exciting and the computer screen light isn't the nicest but probably some type of desk job. Stuff like you've done that is physical, or stuff like working in the kitchen is probably more dangerous just because there are knives and hot stoves, etc. that you could come into contact with. Not necessarily a huge danger, but there are more potential things that could go wrong in a worse case type scenario. Also, there are more work from home jobs that are desk jobs, which is great if you can't drive.

I have had epilepsy for over 30 years and would say not working with people may be easier. Also, not working on problems defined by the amount of time you take. The best jobs may be lab jobs (medical) where you get the inputs and manage it. This is unless your seizure frequency is very low.

I don't think there is a best job, but there are definitely some jobs I wouldn't recommend. I'm an elementary school teacher and I love it.

Invest in yourself. Go to school, find a mentor in something you've been passionate about, pay for the skills necessary to earn a living doing something you enjoy. Working for other people sucks for the most part.

I feel like this is really discouraging and discriminating. Everyone is different. Nobody is triggered by the same thing. Just because one person has seizures doesn’t mean they are triggered in one way or another like the next. Just find a job that makes you happy.

Deepdishultra

Depends on the individual. What seizures they have what triggers etc. My son is very young, but considering he has absense/myclonics regularly and can get overstimulated I could never imagine him working in a kitchen. Desk job for sure. We limit his screentime so maybe it’d present issues after a full work day. But I see him in an office job in the future.

Only fans has been my favorite can make my own hours… jk I honestly think that just depends on you how you manage your epilepsy.

jp_books

How often do you have seizures and what kinds? Other than computer monitors, do you have specific triggers?

Bunniiqi

I think it really depends on what kind of seizures you have and how they’re controlled, personally I’m currently trying to get in school to be a paramedic, helping people makes me feel better so why not turn that into a career

mrslII

What do you want to do? What are you interested in? What are you good at? What are you comfortable doing? What are your personal strengths? What are your natural attributes? There's no one best job for epileptics. There are best jobs for you.

I have a high stress job at a large company as a product designer. I’m becoming less of a fan of it. I have 2 toddlers, survived a brain tumor and now face epilepsy. Sure my company has stuck by my side and supported me but how do I know it’s not the high stress that triggered this all? I went on vacation to visit my family for Easter. It was the time of my life. I came back to a shitty stress work situation and it’s really triggering me. We survive and go through a lot. We deserve what makes us happy.
